The guide Bobby did an excellent job walking as around the city. I appreciated the way he told us about the story of the city of London, in a very enthusiastic way.

Itinerary
Nearly 1,000 years old! Built by William the Conqueror as a fortress, later a royal prison, execution site, and home to the Crown Jewels (and the ravens who, legend says, protect the kingdom).
London's most famous bridge! Its Victorian bascules still lift for river traffic to this day.
Western Europe's tallest building when it opened in 2012. A glass spike over a city that spent 2,000 years staying low to the ground.
Not the famous one, but a crossing has stood here since the Romans first founded the city. The medieval version was lined with shops, houses, and (grimly) traitors' heads on spikes.
Christopher Wren's column marking the Great Fire of 1666. Its height is exactly the distance to the bakery on Pudding Lane where the fire began.
"The Walkie Talkie"! A modern skyscraper with a genuinely wild claim to fame when, in 2013, its curved glass front concentrated sunlight so intensely it melted parts of a car parked on the street below. London's most infamous architectural mistake.
Founded in 1571 as London's first proper trading floor, modelled on Antwerp's bourse, look up for the grasshopper weathervane, the crest of the merchant who built it. Now luxury shops sit where traders once haggled.
The "Old Lady of Threadneedle Street". Britain's central bank since 1694, and the vault holding one of the largest gold reserves on Earth.
Wren's masterpiece, and the building that stood defiant through the Blitz while the rest of the City burned around it.

Excellent tour with James who was very knowledgeable and kept our interest the whole time. Lovely loud clear voice. Tried to find places for me to sit whenever we stopped. So enthusiastic he ran over the two hours!

Great time, amazing tour ! Thank you!
Kevin’s tour of the Historic City of London was amazing. Not only did he have knowledge of London, and dress the part, he had a theatrical element to his tour which is rarely seen in the free walking tours I have been on. He was amazing and the tour was fantastic. If you are interested in knowing more about London and want an amazing experience look for Kevin, and tip well!
We had a great time on the Old City of London tour with Joel. He was super friendly, knew a lot about the area, and made the history really interesting. The tour was fun and a great way to see this side of London. We’d definitely recommend it!
The Walk was really good and interesting and although Londoners we saw things and went down tiny streets we didn't know existed. the Guide Kevin was informative and had a wealth of interesting facts and stories
Really enjoyed the tour, Bobby was excellent.
James B Malcolm is the consummate walking tour guide and his visit through the City of London was nothing short of masterful. As a professional Tour Director for Passports Educational Tours and a local Madrid guide myself, I encounter many guides through work. I can affirm unequivocally that James’ –who is also a professional actor– had perfect pacing, highly appropriate content, a fun and theatrical delivery style and to top it off, he is a lovely person to be with. He spoke loudly and clearly with a stunning command of the English language. His tour was so entertaining and engaging that I couldn’t believe 2 and 1/2 hours had transpired when it drew to a close at St Paul’s Cathedral. Bra-vo James! And bra-vo to London with a Local for having discovered such a jewel of a guide!
It was a fantastic tour. Our tour guide Kevin was super knowledgeable and told the history in an engaging story format. It is well worth the time spent and a good donation. The atmosphere was fun and light and despite being two hours it was an easy walk. It was a beautiful sunny day but there is plenty of shade around the city as well.
Big Ben was excellent!! His wealth of knowledge and passion for history really shine through. 100% recommend taking this tour or any tour he does. He also gives best photo opportunities for those who are looking for this.
We did the free City of London Tour and it was awesome! Kevin is a great tour guide!

We had a fantastic tour. Our guide, Sam, a true Londoner, has a wealth of knowledge about the city and its many sights. We learned so many interesting facts, and the two hours flew by. I highly recommend this tour. Thank you very much.
I highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to learn about London history. James is a wealth of knowledge about his city, and he presented the information with charm. The route is easy to walk, and a wide range of sites are covered. I thoroughly enjoyed this experience!
Great and informative experience. Kevin, the guide, was incredible. Really enjoyable afternoon, even for someone living in London
Great tour with James, he was funny and entertaining and ensured that the tour was enjoyable.
Rob did an excellent job. The hole tour was amazing
James was the perfect tour guide for this very informative tour of the City of London. Until the tour I hadn’t fully appreciated the rich history and special culture of this small part of London, nor how powerful a place it holds in the economy. James has an extraordinary depth of knowledge, and what really set him apart was his ability to bring centuries of history to life with engaging stories and fascinating details you simply won’t find in any guidebook. He struck the perfect balance between the City’s ancient past — from its Roman origins to the Great Fire — and its role as one of the world’s most influential financial centres today. The route was thoughtfully planned, weaving through hidden courtyards, centuries-old churches, and iconic landmarks, revealing layers of the City that most people walk past without a second glance. James was also wonderfully accommodating of questions, no matter how obscure, and always had a compelling answer ready. Whether you’re a Londoner who thinks they know the city or a first-time visitor, this tour will genuinely surprise you. I left with a completely new appreciation for that famous Square Mile and found myself pointing out details to friends for weeks afterwards. Highly, highly recommended — don’t miss it.
Kevin was so informative and kept us engaged the whole time. I really enjoyed the tour!
The tour was very informative, Kevin’s knowledge was exceptional. Kevin was engaging with all participants, his antidotes added to the delivery of the tour. Definitely recommend for both Londoner's and visitors to the City.
We took the City of London walking tour and our guide was Ben… although everyone seems to call him “Big Ben.” Which feels appropriate once you see how tall he is and start hearing how much history the guy has in his head. Ben really knows the history of London and delivers it in a way that actually keeps your attention. A little humor here and there… a good story… and suddenly two hours of history doesn’t feel like school anymore. Nobody wants a guide just rattling off dates and names the whole time. We also got lucky with the weather. For March day in London it was beautiful… which made walking around the city much nicer than we expected. There were about 15 people on the tour, with eight of us traveling together. The walk is over two hours, but it’s not difficult. Ben also tries to stop in places where people can at least take a break while he explains what you’re looking at. And when Ben starts talking about London’s history… it just sort of flows out of him. The group definitely seemed to enjoy it. For a free walking tour, this was a great value and we’re glad we did it. If you get Big Ben as your guide… you’re in good hands.
Great tour with a very knowledgeable guide. I recommend doing it in the morning since the area is not too busy and you can have lunch in the city right after. It's a good walk rich with historical sights and notable mentions to pop culture.
Big Ben wass awesome. Very funny and informative.
Informative and definitely a great experience.
It was really lovely guided by Ben. Cheers 🍻
Had such a lovely morning with our guide Ben. He was so enthusiastic and made the walk really enjoyable, even for my 9 year old son. Would highly recommend!
A lovely tour! Not my first time to London, but my first time taking a walking tour and I learned so much! Ben was a great guide, full of history, stories, and enthusiasm.

Amazing tour, full of history, and had a great time with Big Ben. Genuinely recommend the experience with a local guide because they are very passionate.
Had a great tour with Ash yesterday. He had some great stories that you will find not only interesting but things you may not hear from the usual ways of getting information. There were 7 of us, ages 12 - 75 and all were engaged by Ash. I highly recommend this tour and if you can request Ash, you won’t be disappointed.
Ben was a great guide and we really enjoyed the trip. He brought lots of humour and delivered heart felt descriptions bringing London to life.
