I commuted from Surrey with my 2 young children despite the bad weather. Upon arrival we were told the river tour is cancelled but we could scan a QR code for a refund. No prior notification. Waste of time and money.
We had the perfect weather. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and explained everything. The only reason I gave it 4 stars was finding the exact location of the boat was very difficult!! There were many other boats in the area, so finding the exact one was hard.
Tickets were half price as we are HRP members, so that was great. The boat is fantastic and the crew were great but the bar prices!! I know it’s London but £27.40 for a Diet Coke, a small lager and a glass of fizz (not champers). That was insane.
Spent a few days in London prior to a trans-Atlantic cruise back to the US. Did this tour on a lovely Friday afternoon. The narrator was excellent— he provided good information and a bit of humor. He wandered throughout the boat —very pleasant and easy to listen to him. Would like it to be a longer tour!
Lovely 40 minute boat trip on an electric boat. Commentary the whole time. Great photos of landmarks can be taken. Really enjoyable.
Fantastic experience, we are born proud Londoners generally rushing from A to B by public transport. It’s lovely to slow down and appreciate the experience of seeing our amazing city from the river. Guide very clear and knowledgeable, always something new to see and learn. Bonus was the meet and greet by the crew . Highly recommend
A most enjoyable experience on a very well organised and comfortable trip.
Boarded the boat was a nice bar and very clean toilets. Staff were very pleaseant and helpfull and nothing seemed to much genuinly felt they enjoyed there job. Very informative tour with lots if interesting facts. My daughter loved it
Very clean vessel, staff was very friendly and the guide was extremely knowledgeable
Meeting place was slightly confusing but worked out. Specify “meet at fountain”. Hard to find guide. Maybe wear a brightly colored vest with company name would be helpful.
What an experience! Found the glass walkways terrifying. The staff were knowledgeable and extremely helpful. Would highly recommend
Easy to book. Perfect way to get a glimpse of the sights of London. Great insights given on the trip. Funny and informative.
We had a wonderful, once in a lifetime, cruise on the first and only electric river cruiser. Booking was easy, which is great when you're a certain age! Welcomed aboard by the friendly captain and crew was a lovely touch. The boat is beautiful, comfortable seating, spacious with panoramic views of the riverside. We enjoyed a drink from the well stocked bar as we took our seats. The narrative as we cruised was very informative and we learned a lot about London we hadn't known previously. Highly recommend, and plan to do it again before we head home. Thank you Captain Chris, Callum and Co.
Lovely trip. We had glorious weather which really helped! Informative guide. Enjoyed a glass of the sparkling wine which was expensive but nice as a treat.
The river cruise was part of a joint ticket with the Tower of London. We were a group of 3. We were able to join a cruise at a time that suited us. The boat was not busy and we could sit where we wanted. We sat outside because the weather was good and we had great views. There are toilets and a bar on board. The boat is electric and was really quiet and peaceful. The guide narrated the tour brilliantly, pointing out loads of landmarks and giving some of the history about each area, which made it much more enjoyable than just going up and down the river. Having a different perspective of the city was also really good.
Great experience! Guide told great stories and explained the areas well, so that we gained real insight to London. Weather was wonderful, the boat clean and comfortable. Not over crowded which was great.
To definitely do it it was amazing staff very nice it was our wedding anniversary’s so it was really nice eill definite do it again as it was an amazing experience
We booked this cruise as an add-on with our Tower of London tickets and I’m so happy we did! The guide was very good, very engaging, the views of the city were fantastic, and honestly it was great to sit and rest after 3+ hours walking around the Tower complex. I had been in London several times already but seeing buildings from the river gave me a new perspective on the city. The seats were comfy and there were toilets onboard and snacks and drinks available for purchase. Great experience.
We really enjoyed our trip. The boat was very comfortable and the young lady narrating was great. A very relaxing, fun experience.
The most well spent 45 minutes of our London weekend, mainly because of the utterly entertaining and eloquent guide - just enough of interesting remarks, anecdotes and facts about the main historical sites.
Stewart is very knowledgeable. Very nice guy & great tour. Nice comprehensive tour. Good pace & amount of walking.
It is a relaxing, informative, peaceful, ride on the all electric river tour boat. We were lucky that the boat boards right in front of our hotel so we liked the ride so much the first day we arrived that we wanted to go again after we had been here a few days. The ride the first day really helped us get the lay of the land and the second time was a lovely review.... It is a lovely 40 minutes of signs seeing !!
We chose to do a Thames River Cruise with the Tower of London River Tour company. We knew how to get to their location (under the Tower Bridge). It was pleasant. We were able to see a few sights that we had not been able to see. It is short (too short to me) but we chose it over other river tours because it started and ended at one location. It was pleasant. There was a tour guide on the boat pointing out particular sights and giving some history about the locations. We would do it again.
We met up as a group for the tour and had a great time finding lots of facts we knew nothing about prior and spitting places and objects hidden within normal day to day. So interesting, relaxing and enjoyable and the tour guide was fantastic with his humour and knowledge. Easy to find at the side of Tower Bridge and St.K Docks and not too busy so get a real personal insight. For the length of the tour and the great views its a very affordable add on to any trip. Brilliant tour!
Ran all the way across the city to get there and find out our tour had been canceled. The crew was unapologetic and it was handled very unprofessionally.
Great boat cruise, friendly crew, comfy seats
Perfect! We loved every minute of the river cruise. Super easy to get to, accessible for my elderly mum, comfortable seating and gorgeous bar area! The guide was AMAZING - funny and so interesting. Takes you past all the fabulous landmarks and returns you to the same accessible spot! 💯 recommend!
Great insight into river area. Such history explained and good commentary
A very pleasant cruise. The narration provided lots of interesting information.
The narrator was clear and gave good information about the various sites . Boat was comfortable and easy to get on and off
We really loved how easy it was to find, that you could buy drinks and snacks and how informational it was. Thank you!!
This is a fun, short tour, a little under an hour. The guide was great and you learn some interesting history. There is an indoor and outdoor seating area on the boat, and there are restrooms! Plus a bar area with snacks and drinks. It would be a very family friendly tour and a nice way to do something restful and cool between activities
Informative guide on a comfortable boat. It was a beautiful day, so everything lovely.
Honestly, this made our weekend, we loved it! Open air river cruise, me and my wife loved every minute of it. The tour guide very young knowledgeable guy with a great sense of humour
Really enjoyed it very informative. Modern boat and very clean at a reasonable price. Pier right outside our hotel.
An enjoyable 45 minutes on the Thames on a very quiet electric boat Professionally run, informative guide and pleasant staff.
Nice trip down the river taking in the sights starting at the tower up to the Houses of Parliament and back. Perfect amount of time for a family and commentary along the way. Highly recommend.
The boat was comfortable, quiet and very relaxing. The guide made it fun as the narrator. The trip duration was perfect and the history behind the various landmarks was interesting. Very competitively priced, and as we live in London, would go again with visitors.
We had an amazing time , totally worth the money , captain was so full of info and explained everything thank you Must see trip
Despite the weather, a nice & informative trip down the Thames
The boat itself is fantastic - lots of seating inside and out and there is also a really nice bar area. Great commentary from the guide who was very knowledgeable with lots of interesting facts about London’s rich history, All in all a great experience and would definitely recommend
Enjoyed this river boat trip as an add on to a visit to Sky Garden. Seats comfy, commentary interesting. Delightful way to see London. Shout out too to Mike at Customer Services was really helpful with a query. Would recommend this an excursion for families, friends and couples.
We saw this offer on Travel Zoo which would allow you to buy half price tickets for the Tower Of London River Tour. With this in mind four off us booked up for Friday 28 August at 16:30. What I will say in advance is that we missed our booking as we had a real problem finding the location to board the boat. By the time we had located the jetty it was too late and the boat had sailed. We were told to come back at 17:30 and we could join the next cruise which we did. I thought I had worked out exactly where this jetty was prior to our cruise so was quite annoyed with myself for making such a pigs ear of locating this place. Basically it is right next to Tower Bridge on the East side. We followed signs from the tube station which to be quite honest sent us everywhere else except this location. Finally we asked and were then steered in the right direction. The cruise itself was excellent. We found the boats guide very informative as he enlightened us all on a number of views, sights and things of note. We sat in the bar area and sampled a few drinks while we enjoyed the cruise. Drinks are not cheap as a 300ml bottle of Prime Ale will set you back £8 and a small glass 125ml of Pinot Grigio will set you back £6:75. Anyway what choice do you have but pay the price they ask but I do feel they miss a trick here as 99% of the passengers never bought a drink and at these prices I can see why. We would highly recommend the cruise and the half price deal if you can get it makes the cruise even sweeter. The cruise takes around 45mins and the boat leaves promptly at every quarter to the hour.
Really enjoyed this boat trip after our day at the Tower of London. The ‘guide’ was informative but fun and made it a really lovely, relaxing little trip. Highly recommend.
The boat was easy to get to and looked brand new, both the interior & the windows were clean and we had a good view of all the sights. Guide was knowledge & spoke clearly. My only niggle would be why stop at the Houses of Parliament? I would have been happy to pay slightly more if the journey also took in Lambeth Bridge, Vauxhall Bridge, the MI6 building, the Tate & perhaps even the Battersea Power Station & the Royal Hospital Chelsea.
Booking was a fiddle as I was booking for 3 children and 2 adults, but each booking had to be made individually, and were kept separate, instead of grouping the 5 tickets and a single receipt under my name. The trip itself was excellent, professional staff , a new and very comfortable boat, . Commentary excellent and audible even right up the front of the boat
We arrived and were told we were too late. We pulled up our phone and it read exactly 1 minute passed booking time. The boat was still docked right there and they would not let us on. We even called ahead earlier in the day and asked about a later cruise to avoid the time crunch and were told they had nothing. The workers when we got there said we could have done the next boat (we'd already made reservations elsewhere for that time) so overall not very good customer service, wasted our money.
Our family of 6 adults really enjoyed the river tour in conjunction with the Tower of London Tour. You can choose the time for the boat tour, which lasts about an hour, and visit the Tower of London grounds either before or after. The boat tour takes you past many of the famous monuments along the Thames while the narrator shares historical facts and amusing anecdotes to make the history come alive. As the boat is electric, it is a very quiet ride and it was easy to hear the guide. All staff were friendly and accommodating. We had an issue getting to the boat for our scheduled time and they were able to reschedule us on the next one without issue. We would definitely recommend this tour!
Im a Londoner but it was great fun being a tourist for the day. The boat is luxurious, lots of space under cover and outside at the front. An electric boat so very quiet and no diesel smells. The commentary was very clear. Personally, a bit too much on the Tower of London and its history, but then it is called the Tower of London River Tour. I would have liked places like the Savoy, Ministry of Defence etc pointed out rather than all the history stories. All staff were smart, friendly and efficient. Boarding was efficient, very quick turn around although there weren't many people on the trips. There is a bar with drinks and snacks but for such a short trip I'm not sure it is used much.
