Moriarty's Game: The Professor's Invitation By Hiddencity

Great fun! Just enough difficulty to keep us on our toes but not too much to be a struggle. We saw parts on London and things we’d never seen before while enjoying the puzzle! Thanks!

Hidden City is one of those experiences you just have to do to realise how great it is. This is the third time doing it and it won’t be the last! I’ve done it with friends and as a date, and would recommend it to anyone. It’s an incredible day out, a great excuse to wander around areas of London you might not normally get to see, and you get to solve puzzles and stop off at lovely pubs and cafes for drinks and food! The puzzles are brilliant, so clever, and the production value of the props and venue participation is always fantastic and great value for money. Honestly cannot recommend enough - our favourite day out!

It cost £29 each but great value for money. The clues are a great mixture of easy , hard and ????. Really make you think inside and outside the box. Excellent walk around London discovering little places that you just didn't know existed or would just walk past. The pubs are nice and friendly too. It took us 2 hours to complete the walk , we didn't rush and had a couple of breaks along the way. Highly recommend this as a great time with family and friends

It was great fun following the clues through a post of town we don’t normally visit. The clues were challenging but do-able and it was more fun than following a printed treasure trail.

We had a great day wandering around parts of London that were new to us (so many Mews!) working out the clues to Moriarty's Game. The directions were really well written once you got the hang of what you were looking for (which wasn't hard!), and we appreciated that we could request help if we got really stuck. The clues were challenging, but not impossible, and we loved that we ended up in the 'safe houses' (pubs!). The game has built-in breaks and tells you how many clues you have to complete before the next one. That was really helpful and meant that we could duck out of the rain on the day we chose, but if you want to cut the breaks short, you just send a text saying you are ready to continue. The best bit for us was that you get the clue electronically by text (from Moriarty, John Watson and the Met Police!), but also you have physical clues to solve, which are given to you at the 'safe houses'. These were really good fun, and the chance to call Sherlock and Moriarty on the phone made it a very immersive experience. We will definitely do another of Hidden City's games, as we really enjoyed the whole experience and have been telling everyone to go and book!

The places th3 trail took us too were lovely and we would not have experienced them without the cryptic clues. The puzzles were challenging but achievable. We had a great time and would recommend it.

Booked this as a surprise for my boyfriend’s birthday, he loved it! It got us walking around London, seeing new hidden spots we haven’t been to before as well as all the pubs! The staff in all locations were so friendly and lovely as well. We had a great time and already looking forward to the next one! Would highly recommend.

Really fun trail around London, the clues were challenging but not too hard, some good stops and we got to see parts of London we otherwise wouldn't have seen. 100% will do again. Did as corporate team building, but will definitely come back with friends

Would not recommend for not British English speakers -1: no added value for paying for a second player. All communication was through one phone. We manually had to share the messages. -1: price is not fixed but dependent on the moment -1: the language was way too complicated for not-British English speakers. It had too many specific words and references not used in international English -1: the combination of complicated directions and busy streets wanted us to stop. We only finished with many hints +1: pubs and fake phone calls were a nice touch Overall: not worth the £60 we had to pay for two players.

This is the 3rd HiddenCity scavenger hunt I’d done in London. 2 with my partner and 1 with my daughter. I really enjoy the cryptic clues and the way they incorporate actual shopkeepers and bar staff into the stories. Good value considering how long it keeps you occupied and the number of different sites I’ve seen.

Brilliant mystery quiz tour. You really do need to get your brain engaged. Very testing but good clues throughout he game. Everyone gets immersed with the game. Highly recommend this game.

Great idea, really good problem and clue solving game that takes you around some great parts of London, the clues made you think but we're sensible. There was always an option for help along the way. Great places to have a drink on the way also.

Have done three adventures with Hidden City, once with friends, enjoyed it so much have used them as group social activities! And I'll definitely be back to book another, everyone always loves them! Super easy to use, and set up, as well as adding people

What an experience. Such a great experience to immerse ourselves in messages, puzzles, clues, treasure hunting and secret messages with real world people! Such a great thing to do we had a blast

We had a lot of fun this afternoon. It was such a great way to get teenage son off his screens and out of the house!! I left him to read the clues out and we worked it out together. Loads of fab places to stop for food also really helped. We both thoroughly enjoyed it.

These are great adventure games around London, not a vast distance covered but hunting for clues in public spaces with game options via what’s app all add to the atmosphere and having to go into shops / pubs and ask for coded items add to the fun and excitement. Definitely recommended to visit parts of London, never seen before, proving depends on time of day, so if you can book mid week for cheaper times

This is the second of these games that I have done. Great way to see parts of London. Clues were great. Love the twist in the middle, deciding who's side to be on. Great value for money.

We did the 007 one which we loved. However, today we did Sherlock Holmes and it was really basic compared to 007. The clues were very similar to each other and the challenges at the rest stops were far too easy. With 007 we spent ages cracking the clue with the brief case however it took about 5 minutes to solve the clue in the pub which then forced an hour rest break on us. The end for 007 was brilliant too, iykyk but the end for Sherlock Holmes was a disappointment. Also seriously missing a trick not going towards Baker Street from Marylebone.

Great game with difficult but not impossible clues. Had a fun afternoon solving the puzzle and visiting some nice pubs too. Would definitely recommend

The game is well thought out with intriguing puzzles to solve that do not require specialist knowledge. The locations chosen to solve more time consuming problems were not necessarily ones a tourist or someone unfamiliar with the area would frequent, and therefore all the better for it. The actual gameplay itself is easy to understand and the use of WhatsApp quite intuitive.

Great way to explore the city of London while having fun.

We’ve done a few Hidden City experiences now, and this was our second time completing Moriarty’s Game. We weren’t expecting the clues and locations to be different, but that made it an even better afternoon — it felt completely fresh and just as much fun as the first time. I recommend Hidden City to people all the time. The whole setup is incredibly slick, from the way the clues are delivered to the venues you’re taken to and the people you interact with along the way. The clues are pitched perfectly: challenging enough to keep you fully engaged, but never so difficult that it stops being fun. The locations are always great, and the people involved are brilliant, funny and really add to the experience. It’s excellent value for money and such a clever, inventive way to explore the city.

We had done Enchanted Mirror previously and on the back of that experience booked Moriarty game. It was basically a walking tour with cryptic clues to guide you around whereas the previous tour we went into venues to find the answers and solved puzzles. The pubs were not as good as the ones on The Enchanted Mirror game

We started the game and at first it was very enjoyable, however not even half way through we replied to a clue and heard nothing back. We waited over an hour and half and still no reply. We also emailed the info email and the contact email and heard nothing. Very disappointed in our experience as we paid a lot of money just to get into London.

Very good experience, fun games and puzzles to solve, gets you to know places of London you may not know before. Recommended!

Amazing would highly recommend fun afternoon out in London

Great fun, good props and clues, challenging but achievable and a nice little prize at the end. Bar staff were on board in a good way and really enjoyed exploring Mayfair and beyond.

This was a super fun evening which wasn’t too easy or too difficult. You get to explore some parts of the city that you might not otherwise see, and there is ample time for breaks during the game. Would definitely recommend and we plan to do another in the future.

Great fun. Just the right mix of challenge and reward - though definitely need to have a keen, problem solving team. I particularly enjoyed being guided through an area of London I hadn't explored before and discovering previously unknown pubs.

This was our 4th HiddenCity event and honestly we love them. They’re so well put together and really pull you into the story, it doesn’t feel like just a game, more like you’re part of it. Every time we do one we end up discovering places in London we’d never have found otherwise. We’ve tried a similar experience with another company before, but HiddenCity are on a different level, we wouldn’t bother

Fabulous experience with a puzzle exploration game around Marylebone. Clues were just the right level of difficulty and we saw lots of interesting hidden landmarks on our trail. Ellise was fabulous with handling our queries via email too! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

These games are great ways to see parts of London you’d not necessarily consider visiting. My kids are now old enough to play them so we let them do the game while we chaperoned. My wife and I did this game 10 years ago and it was definitely updated and modified as we couldn’t remember most of what we saw this time round. Highly recommend you try them all!

Moriarty's game was just brilliant! A great experience that kept us as a family talking about for ages. Saw parts of the city we would never have seen and met some really lovely people along the way too. Good value as the game lasted a good few hours and we will definitely be back to do another game soon.

Excellent. We had a great time. I loved exploring parts of London we've never been to, and loved the built-in breaks. I'll definitely be going again.

This has been the third game that we’ve played from Hidden City and it was just as great as the rest. The puzzles were challenging and varied and the integration of clues inside shops, etc adds so much to the story and gameplay. The route taken through London was a lovely walk and took us through some streets and areas that I’d never seen, having lived here all my life. It took us just over 2 hours to complete, but there are breaks built in if you want to sit and have a drink/snack. In terms of group sizes, it was just my wife and me, but I played another of theirs with a large group and it was just as good. If everyone has their phone number registered when setting up the game then everyone gets the clues sent to them via WhatsApp, so you’re not all huddled around one person and their phone. I would say the games we’ve played from Hidden City have been the best walking quests we’ve done in London!

The whole experience was amazing, extremely interactive. The instructions were easy but the puzzles were the perfect level of challenging. By far the best escape room/secret London tour we’ve ever done!

Enjoyed a lovely day. Found it a bit tricky first but soon we got into.the swing. Some of clues so clever. We could stop and start as we wanted. My husband and i had such a laugh and really enjoyed.

My partner and I had so much fun and really enjoyed exploring a pert of London we did not know! I think it would be fun next time to compete with friends creating teams!

We loved doing the Moriarty game yesterday . Clues are really varied (looking, thinking, working out, calling up, and asking bartenders). They are not impossible although you need your wits about you. You cover one area in some depth so it was great exploring Marylebone. Will definitely do another one when it’s warmer although London is much less crowded in January. I was impressed with the game, it exceeded my expectations.

WE LOVED THIS ACTIVITY! me and the kids did this and had so much much fun, so well arranged, the interactive messages were such fun. highly recommended

Hidden City is a great way to explore London while playing a game online. You get to go to places you might never find and you have places to stop for a drink and food if you want to. The clues are interesting and make you think abstractly. We had a great time and met other teams playing on the way.

Hidden City was a freezing 🥶 epic fail. The reviews 100% do not match the experience which felt like a promotional experience for the 2 pubs and 1 Paul’s which held some of the clues. Disappointed and embarrassed (organised for my husband’s birthday) as I had highs hopes for us going to places in London we would not normally go.
