We see the most important historic location of the East India company having previously seen other sites linked to it.
See the neo classical splendour of the Royal Exchange, Bank of England and Mansion House
See the location of the coffee shop where the stock market was first based. Exchange Alley or Change Alley is a narrow alleyway connecting shops and coffeehouses in an old neighbourhood of the City of London. It served as a convenient shortcut from the Royal Exchange on Cornhill to the Post Office on Lombard Street and remains as one of a number of alleys linking the two streets.
See the medieval Guildhall and selected near by Guild buildings. Medieval guild halls were used to store goods and as places for celebratory events. When not required for guild members' events, the hall often became place where townspeople could hold entertainments such as Passion plays.
See the modern Stock market towered over by the glorious St Paul's Cathedral. St Paul's Cathedral is an Anglican cathedral in London. As the seat of the Bishop of London, the cathedral serves as the mother church of the Diocese of London. The best tour walking through London. Terry is telling and talking, sharing his enormous knowledge in a friendly and driven way with interest in us as his audience and is someone you have sympathy for. Can’t be better!
Terry has deep knowledge of the City of London and its financial history that make this tour such an excellent learning experience. He shares stories and facts that are very engaging and make the learning experience very fun. I highly recommend this tour to anyone who is interested in the long ago history of London and/or the financial origins and financial developments of London.
Terry took us on a stimulating journey through time and space. From the Roman invasion of Britain to the money making machines- empire, kings, queens, god and money explored in this fascinating small corner of London, known as the city. Terry brings a wealth of knowledge, humour and expertise. I strongly recommend this tour and look forward to booking my next exploration of my adopted hometown 🌹🌹🌹
Very informative and great energy! The entire family learned a lot and he met each of us where we were in our knowledge.
Terry was an amazing tour guide. He was very knowledgeable and made the tour very fun and informative!
An excellent two hour walking tour around the City. Having worked in London's financial district for some time I was very impressed that Terry took my son and I to plenty of places I didn't know existed. A really informative tour that began with London's creation on the outskirts of the Roman Empire, through the period of the East India Company and then up to the present day. Terry has an infectious interest in his historical subject. Highly recommended. 10/10.
Very knowledgeable. Great foundation to understand early, mid and current London. We had just arrived from the states and found this tour really interesting and it helped us appreciate London even more.
Absolutely brilliant experience! The Money and Power in the City sightseeing tour in London exceeded our expectations, and a huge part of that was thanks to our guide, Terry. He brought centuries of financial and political history to life with such clarity, humor, and insight that even those of us without any background knowledge could easily follow along and stay engaged throughout. Terry has a real gift for storytelling—he made complex topics feel tangible and relevant, seamlessly connecting the past to the present. The tour was well-paced, thoughtfully structured, and packed with fascinating facts and anecdotes. It really opened our eyes to the hidden stories behind London’s financial district. Well worth the 2 hours—we highly recommend it to anyone curious about how money and power have shaped the City. Thanks, Terry!
Terrie was great. Was able to answer all our questions and had so much interesting info. Everything is better in context and he provided that very clearly.
Amazingly enjoyable and informative tour. You will learn so much about the history of the area dating back from the Romans to the present while also gaining a greater understanding for how the impacts of history still have implications in the modern day. Highly recommend!
We did the tour on Wednesday during the half term and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Terry was so welcoming and knowledgeable - it was a pleasure to be in his company for the two hours with his infectious laugh 😃. Would definitely recommend and we would look at booking his other tours for sure. Thank you for looking after us, Terry.
Very interesting tour about places of power and places about money. Mr. Silvers knows a lot about the history and can show you some great and interesting places.
Terry speaks with the enthusiasm of a teenager with a college history professor's mind. (which he is!) His tour educates, enlightens and entertains regarding the money and power center of London. A whirlwind history of the City of London is included. If you're into "power," highly recommended.
This is our third walking tour with Terry. He is informative, knowledgeable and good fun. We always come away a little more educated than when we began and with some historical insights and a better perspective on what we are looking at in this incredible city. We will be sure to book again with him and highly recommend his tours.
