Itinerary
Pass by the infamous Tower of London, and learn of its 900+ year history, from the time of William the Conqueror to the modern day! Originally built in 1078, The Tower is one of history's most infamous and notorious buildings, and has been the scene for countless historical events throughout its history.
Cross The Thames on the iconic Tower Bridge, and learn how it was built!
See the famous WW2 battleship, that saw action in various conflicts and took part in the D-Day landings!
Learn the history of London Bridge from its beginnings in the year 43AD, through medieval times and the 1212 Great Fire of Southwark, the English Civil War of the 1640s, and up to the modern day!
Pass the 900 year-old Borough Market, beneath early Victorian railway arches and through the oldest food market in the world.
Southwark Cathedral has stood exactly as you'll see it since 1420, although a site of worship has existed here since the year 606. Numerous historical figures now lie at rest inside the building, and the cathedral was used, in the 1550s, as a site for countless heresy trials by 'Bloody Mary' - the notorious daughter of Henry VIII.
Standing at St. Mary Overie dock, learn of Sir Francis Drake's famous 1577 round-the-world voyage, and the controversies that surrounded it!
See the ruins of the 12-century Winchester palace, originally one of medieval London's most important and spectacular buildings. It played host to various Kings and Queens in centuries gone, stood in the centre of the notorious 'Liberty of the Clink', and features the country's oldest prison!
Painstakingly rebuilt after a cannon-related fire in 1613, the beautiful Shakespeare's Globe Theatre stands immediately by the banks of the Thames, directly opposite St. Paul's Cathedral, and is like stepping back in time to 16th-century London!
Learn of the 30-million-year history of the Thames, and of the horrors and unpleasantness that took place here between the 11th century and Victorian times!
Cross The Thames once more on London's famous Millennium Bridge and marvel at fantastic views along the river on your way to St. Paul's!
The masterpiece of legendary British architect Sir Christopher Wren, St. Paul's cathedral is one of the most spectacular buildings in the world, and has stood majestically atop Ludgate Hill since the 1670s. It is an unrivalled display of 17th-century architecture, and, with a site of worship having stood here since the 7th century, countless historical events have taken place here and continue to do so!

After a rocky start—difficulty in locating the guide, with the genetic meeting point “Tower Hill” not at all helpful—a nice small tour with Mick. Only four of us to follow him around, so easy to move and carry on conversations. Good history and a pretty weather day for this tour.
Mike was highly knowledgable and passionate with the tour service. We had learned a lot from him about the medieval history of London.
I thought the walking tour was fantastic and loved the entire tour. Mick was very entertaining and informative and a jolly good host. The tour covers a long distance so wear your most comfortable shoes. The history of that part of London is fascinating. Thank you Mick! 🇺🇸

We all enjoyed this walk - ages ranging from 16 to 68. Despite having lived in London for a while we found that we learned a lot from our friendly and considerate guide.
Mic is extremely knowledgeable about medieval history. All the places we stopped at were very interesting to anyone interested in spotting the remnants of medieval life in London.
Mick is a wonderful guide, we thoroughly enjoyed our tour with him. The pace was casual even while we covered a lot of ground and saw many landmarks.
Mick was INCREDIBLE!! So full of information and personable with everyone. He had tid bits of fun historical facts all throughout the walk and not just the main stopping points. A detailed informative experience with pictures and the sites. The guide was detailed, caring and enthusiastic about the medical history. Would 100% do this again and bring a friend.
Be prepared to fight your way through the crowds at Borough Matket and make sure you wear comfy shoes. A great tour with a great tour guide (Mick). We thoroughly enjoyed it and would highly recommend

We met up with our guide easily right at the tube station and finished at St Paul's.
Great guide. Smart and knowledgeable
This was an amazing, informative, interesting walk and talk delivered by our guide Mick. Worthwhile! Would heartily recommend the Medieval Walking Tour if you like history and knowledge about city landmarks in London.
Mick is a fantastic guide and illustrates his topics with well chosen old photographs. It was a very interesting tour and the 2 hours went so fast! Mick made the effort to talk to everyone on the tour individually between stops where he imparted his considerable knowledge of his topics to us all.
Mick was very knowledgeable and engaging. Shared so much history and out of the way sights. A lot of walking but periods of stopping to hear about the area.
This was an amazingly informative and lively tour! Mick is a great guide- fun, passionate and extremely knowledgeable about the history and the key stops made along the way. He really brings awesome energy to the tour and you get a great sense of the historic figures mentioned. The tour covers a lot of sites!! So many memorable historic figures come to life in his descriptions and his large format photos too! There are Great photo opportunities throughout too. If you enjoy history and architecture mixed in with many fun facts, this is a MUST tour!!
Loved the tour~ we went to areas of London that we had never explored before. The pace was perfect, and Mick was great! We learned a lot, and had fun too!
This tour was good. I don’t think you can accurately say it’s a medieval history tour though as we discussed several other time periods as we walked (maybe 60% medieval and 40% other). Mick was an incredible guide. He knew so much history and we were in awe of the years and statistics and he was throwing out. Definitely seems to love what he does and is very good at it.
Excellent guide, well informed and interesting. Topics discussed were not related exclusively to Medieval history.
We had a fantastic time on the medieval walking tour. I went with my parents and my girlfriend, and everyone loved it. Our guide, Mick, was brilliant. He was very knowledgeable, bringing the history to life with fascinating stories while keeping the whole experience highly entertaining and engaging. He had great energy and made sure everyone had a good time. If you are looking for a fun, informative, and memorable tour, I would highly recommend this one!
Fun and informative guide. Great route through London covering some major interesting sites. Wear comfy shoes!
A great overview of this part of London that is less well traveled, with a highly knowledgeable guide, who was also quite fun, and managed us all professionally. Lots of insights provided and detailed explanations of how the various sites came about. Really helpful in understanding the mordern context. Great walk with a really superb guide.
Michael was great. You can tell he is very experienced. He made sure the pace was good for everyone and was easy to talk with.
Great tour, lots of sights to take in with facts and dynamic storytelling to accompany! Covers a lot of ground and adds in bits of other time periods for a well-rounded historical picture of London!
We thoroughly enjoyed the very informative tour with Mick. From learning about the history of the Tower of London, the Tower Bridge, the London Bridge, the Millennial Bridge, and the various fires that occurred over the many years of London’s history— we were both educated and entertained. We would definitely recommend this tour!
Mick was great. Very knowledgeable and friendly. I know a lot about London history, but I still learned quite a bit!
Excellent and thoroughly informative historical walking tour. Really enjoyed it and brought to life by the fabulous guide.
Mick was very interesting, thoughtful and made the tour fun. Please wear comfortable shoes. 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
Went on the walking tour with Mick today and was so impressed with his wealth of knowledge of the history of the area, his lovely personality, and the way he interacted with everybody in the group. Would highly recommend this tour to anyone interested in London history
Guide was wonderful, engaging and very informative. I would recommend to others. Plan on walking quite a bit.
Mick was a great tour guide. Full of interesting facts and details. Tour is two hours but the time flew by. Highly recommend!
This tour was a wonderful, comprehensive, and very fun tour. Our guide was amazing and knowledgeable. My group had a fun time and learned so much. Additionally, we got to see so much over the course of the tour. I would highly recommend this tour!
Nick was amazingly knowledgeable about Medieval times and kept his narrative very interesting without including corny jokes. He obviously enjoys conducting these tours and has a great “radio voice” which projects well. He was willing to share information and answer questions as we walked along from one site to the next. He was very careful to be sure all participants had water or other liquid to remain hydrated and offered toilet stops as needed. He was careful to insure all participants knew how to return to their base at the end of the tour which was not where the tour begins. I recommend wearing sturdy shoes due to unlevel surfaces and cobble stones. I wished I had worn my support socks too. Mick rocks!!
This was awesome. Mick was a font of knowledge, very well researched. If you want a short history tour of London that was a snapshot of some very interesting eras,, this is for you. Very engaging & and highly recommended.
You will get a a great review of the historical background of some key places around the city, and a chance to visit some new places in Southwark. Our tour guide, Mick, was very informative and engaging!

Mik is a gifted and charismatic speaker. Well informed. Great voice and entertaining mannerisms. Delightful and eager to chat about any range of fun topics. The tour was perfectly paced with an engaging array of sites. We wish all our guides were this great.
This was interesting. Good opportunity to stretch my legs and learn about the history behind some well known landmarks.
This was my first walking tour and I found it fun and informative. Mick did a great job keeping everyone interested.
This was a very unique walk, giving us an insight into medieval and renaissance London that the average guided walk would not. Our guide Mick was extremely knowledgeable and engaging, including assisting in travel and food recommendations once the walk was done. Very much above and beyond. Definitely a must.
Great walk. The sun was shining so that made it even nicer. Lots of sights had never seen before and historical knowledge gained. We really enjoyed it
Mick was great! He lead us on a manageable tour while still imparting a lot of history. We enjoyed learning about the stories behind some iconic landmarks.
Mick was fantastic! He was friendly and incredibly knowledgeable about the tour and everything around. Would highly recommend for groups of all sizes even single travelers. 10/10!
Entertaining and informative, very amusing guide.
Leader was friendly and knowledgeable of the historical sites. I was impressed by his efforts to guide a lady to the group due to her missing the start
Our tour guide was amazing. He had a wonderful fund of knowledge and was extraordinarily kind and entertaining. My wife and I have taken many walking tours and he was by far the best in years! (I recall his name is Eric? 1400 tour on 30/8/2026) We would highly recommend him for any tour!
