The website recommends two hours for the tour, but you could honestly spend more time there with the memorabilia from his childhood, military and political life. I really liked the photo reels and the recordings of Churchill's speeches, as well as recorded interviews of people who had worked in the War Rooms during WWII. After the tour, take a few minutes to walk around Whitehall.
If you are a world war veteran, you will really enjoy this inside view of what was happening at that time.
This is the real place, not changed at all. Very interesting and informative. If you are a history buff, you will love it. Even if you're not, it will keep your attention.
Well detailed displays and interactive items related to England’s war efforts as well as Churchill’s life. Worth the money.
Awesome. If you are traveling in London. Take the time to visit. You will be pleased. Well worth your time.
The war room was interesting and great. This activity from viator is not clear in the description. It wasn’t clear that it was a continued walking tour. You have to download a second app to access the audio. We bought two tickets but only got access to have it linked to one phone. If the description was clearer we wouldn’t have purchased.
My group had a great experience at the Churchill War Room and museum. We had the audioguide which was informative and easy to follow. Then when we entered the museum there was so much information. Our group spent 3 hours on the tour and museum and all 4 of us thought that we could have spent more time in there. We have all said that is a tour we would visit again on another trip to London. There was so much information on WWII but also great information about Churchill's life. I felt like I left there with much greater knowledge about England's heroic acts in WWII and Winston Churchill's life before and after WWII.
Gives a picture of WWII during the time. Easy to navigate. Head phone narrative make it much more interesting.
Very interesting comprehensive view of the life of Winston Churchill Went on a Saturday and it was packed (they do restrict amount of visitors going into the bunker) I’m a bit claustrophobic so I felt it got a little tight down there but was very glad I powered thru There’s a beautiful park next door as well (St James) If your a history buff just go !
Certainly well worth it for history buffs. But everyone should understand the importance of our past.
We were thrilled that we included this audio tour as a part of our visit to London. Honestly, you could “feel” the history as you walked the tunnels underground.
Amazing place a must see in London. We have been many times. The website should make it clear that you are buying from a 3 party not from IWM as you have to locate the company you purchased from to get your ticket validated
A fantastic experience!! It was well organised, extremely informative and gave a good insight into that period of time. Would definitely recommend for history buffs
Didn't need it, could have just bought the ticket at the event. It was just a audio guide, the representative just showed us how to get our ticket off the app.
Informative, fascinating, educational
You have headphones and a little tablet that has narration at each place going through the War Rooms. It was confusing in several spots about where the next # was. Also, there could be more direction on how to go through the “Churchill Museum” section.
Love history and everything. Worth going to if you love history. Crowd size was a bit different to get through at some points but the whole experience and atmosphere was amazing.
The Brits fought the Nazis to a standstill until the U.S. entered the war at the end of 1941. Anyone interested in history should visit the heart of the British effort at the Churchill War Rooms Museum.
September. CROWDED. Opt for the earlliest possible. It should be labled War Rooms and MUSEUM as they are somewhat seperate. The Museum is quite comprehensive.
The tour was interesting, however, they let in too many people into a fairly confined space. Very disappointed with VOX City, they cancelled my 2:00PM, tried rebooking me at 2:30PM because they overbooked, then cancelled that and tried to rebooking too late in the day. We had help from Martine on site to rebook and provide tickets for the next morning. You're best to show up and buy tickets on site and not pre-book with Vox City.
You need at Least three hours. Plan to walk slowly/stand for the whole time. It’s physically and mentally draining but so worth it! Find a pub near there afterward, get a pint and decompress. What a life Churchill led. It’s mind boggling and they have presented the whole 90 years in very clever, eye-catching ways. We will go again.
I really thought I was getting something other than just the admission when I booked through this site. It made it seem like since you’re meeting up outside, they would give you a tour. I’m still not sure why anyone would choose to book the museum through this company. You don’t need to -you can just buy them directly through the museum. Anyway, it was very interesting to see the underground rooms. I watched the movie, the Darkest Hour. it was cool because they filmed down there, and I recognized the rooms from my visit. I have to say, however, it was very crowded inside and it was very hot. It was very long. It could take you hours to go through that museum, so as interested as I am in World War II and Churchill, I can’t imagine being THAT interested. and I definitely don’t think anyone under the age of 50 or 60 would be interested at all. But to each their own. It was a very well put together museum upstairs, and the history was obviously fascinating. But I would recommend at least for this experience. You don’t waste your money buying it from this site. You don’t get anything extra. As of this review in September 2026 it was only around 34 pounds per adult to get into the museum. I paid $120 usd through this company.
Efficient entry. Great recorded audio tour. Included, outstanding Winston Churchill museum.
Excellent tour and important to see when visiting London. Very good exhibits and information easy to read. Viator provided good directions and communications about the tour.
This is a fantastic tour of the Churchill war rooms end of the activities during the Battle of Britain. The underground labyrinthine rooms give a fascinating picture of the men and women who worked the map rooms, the codes and communication while living in underground bunkers. However, the tour group Viiator never delivered paper confirmation of our reservations, even though I asked them a couple of times. Far better to go straight to the Churchill war rooms website and get the tickets that way.
Takes more time than you think to see everything, audio and headset were good to get thorough narration
His history is included, not just the war. I had come to London to see his paintings at special exhibition at The Wallace Collection, ‘this museum was secondary on my list but fantastic.
Very interesting. You can spend 1 hour or several depending on how much time you wish to spend in the museum. The audio guides are helpful as well.
It's a bit warm and cramped which should be expected for bunker life, but extremely interesting and spend time in the Churchill museum, he had a remarkable life. Also, buy the book, as it's hard to take phone photos due to hallway and lots of.people.
Worth the visit, could have spent more time there
Very informative. The hall was incredibly interesting
This was a wonderful walking tour that included an extensive overview and history of Westminster Abbey. Our guide, Sean, was extremely knowledgeable on every aspect of the cathedral, as well as the parks and buildings of the surrounding area. Highly recommended.
Lots of history. We had the headphones, but the large room did not very good directions so it was quite confusing.
Great experience. Definitely don’t want to miss this glimpse into history
Loved it! Very interesting learning about Churchill and his leadership from a British perspective. The museum is outstanding!
I’d been once before many years ago, but it was still like a new experience since there is so much detail. Be patient and take your time. There is a lot to see.
Informative & fascinating history! Would highly recommend for all ages. Wonderful preservation, loved recorded interviews, and engaging activities!
Very interesting have watched alot if movies with the rooms in them.
Fantastic! Highly recommended for anyone with even a passing interest in Churchill and London during WWII. These are the underground rooms where Churchill and his staff worked and lived. Everything from the Map Room to the “Direct Lines to World Leaders” to the small bedrooms are there and beautifully re-created. The audio tour is very good, and contains a lot of personal details from letters, memoirs, etc. I thought I had gone through the whole exhibit, but at the end of the tour you enter a wonderful museum with great, interactive displays. Finallly, there is a gift shop with excellent post cards from the period. I bought Eat Potatoes and Save Lives!
Outstanding in every way. Highly recommend for anyone who wants to go to the Imperial War Museum and Churchill War Rooms. Andy has post graduate degrees in subject matter and his passion, knowledge and communication skills are unmatched
It was ridiculously difficult to get our tickets , I had lots of emails reminding me we had booked but the tickets were not attached ,however the girl that met us outside was very helpful. The war rooms are well worth a visit and are much larger than I had imagined.
Great museum and well worth the admission price. We learned a lot from the museum.
There was a mound of information, but it was so hot and stuffy in the basement that we had to leave or I would’ve passed out!
Very well done. More than a “museum”, you’re actually put in Churchill’s command center. I woukd call it an actuality. Definitely something not to miss while in London
Unprecedented tour of the war rooms used to run the United Kingdom's efforts during World War II. Audio was very helpful with all the exhibits. Could have spent 5 hours in there for all the historical documents and information. Actual documents and maps are on display. Outstanding.
I was concerned that the Viator person would be there and coordinate our entry. Worked like clockwork! Thr Viator person even assisted with an issue that one of our guests had.
Need to get with the times, AC isn’t a luxury it’s an everyday way of life, like water, heat, a good meal, additionally your QR code of the booking in the wallet app didn’t work, I had to find my email of the booking to get admission
The curated gallery of images, videos, and items tied to Churchill and the War Bunker cannot be forgotten. Thank you to the Government and Royal Family for the efforts in preservation and their dedication to telling this story.
Great experience! The audio tour is very good. The admission fee was very reasonable.
