This was my second trip in two days because I wanted to experience the Art Deco poster tour again. I had done it the day before. While it had a different focus - Theatre Land - it was just as interesting and informative with all sorts of new information. Following the tour I had a conversation with David the tour guide who was so warm and helpful as we spoke about my interest in the posters, the museum, and the Art Deco period. Thank you all.

A brilliant tour with an expert guide - she was awesome!
I wondered beforehand whether the London Transport Museum would be as rewarding for an adult visitor as it clearly is for families. I needn't have. The guided tour on Art Deco and transport advertising was worth the visit on its own. The collection of poster art is excellent, and our guide David brought it to life with the story of how London Transport used great design to shape how people saw the city. I learned a lot about a subject I hadn't even realized I would be so interested in. If you love design, art history, or London itself, this museum has plenty to offer!
Viator made it quicker and affordable to cut the queue during opening. Was in and out while everyone was still waiting in line to purchase tickets traditional method. The museum itself was rather underwhelming, no fault of Viator. Not much train exhibits as expected.
Had a great time at the TFL museum. We had a great tour with Karen of the art deco exhibition - very insightful. Great for those with or without background knowledge of art deco
A flying visit to see the poster exhibition beautifully coincided with a tour: I was the only attendee, so got a personal guide. Karen was great: knowledgable, enthusiastic, full of fascinating insights and patient of my many daft questions. The exhibition is brilliant on its own, but if you can take the tour, do so. Thanks, Karen!
Lisa was really passionate and knowledgeable about the art deco posters and it was well worth joining the tour. Shows a love for educating people.
Incredibly interesting and informative tour of the Art Deco poster exhibition. The posters are beautiful. The guide was excellent.
Visited LTM on Friday and had a really good time. Well worth the admission fee. Lots to do and interact with for all ages. The free guided tour is worth doing. Tour takes around 30-40 minutes. My guide Karen had a passion for TFL and Art Deco. She was full of facts and information. Most important she made it fun and enjoyable.
Art Decor tour was informative and interesting. Our tour guide was enthusiastic about the history and answered out questions with confidence. All in all a lovely experience provided by the team and something we would recommend
Great Tour on Art Deco with Carole!
Great tour on Art deco! Highly recommended!
Really interesting experience – I recommend the guided tour of the art deco posters. Ahid made it all so interesting. Also a nice café with windows overlooking Covent Garden.
Excellent tour, well informed guide, thanks Ahid.
Really interesting tour of the Art Deco exhibition, our guide Karen was super knowledgeable, definitely recommend!
Well presented; beautiful art deco.and art nouveau collection. Amazing
An amazing experience looking at the history of transport. The admission fee was a fair price especially as we spent nearly 3 hours here! The atmosphere was relaxed, with plenty of staff to check in with, if you had a question that needed answering. As it was mid week and term time it were very few crowds. We attended two talks one about trams run by a volunteer ( it was very informative) and the other by Ahid was a talk about the Art Deco artwork. He spoke very passionately about the artwork providing plenty of information. Thank you for a great time.
Karen was amazing. She knew so much about the art work from the “Art Deco: golden age of poster design” period. I highly recommend the tour.
Brilliant tour of posters exhibition by guide Lisa; really revealed things you wouldn’t have seen on your own.
Love Karen's tour on the history of Art Deco and poster art for the Underground!
Karen ran a fantastic tour of the art deco posters. She was so knowledgeable and it was a joy to learn more. While much of the museum is targeted at children and families, the tour was perfect for adults.
Truly the highlight of my visit was the 12: noon 1 hr tour with Mr A our guide within the Art Deco Poster room . Never knew the symbolism that the iconic London Underground Symbol of transportation had its origins in Art Deco Posters and advertisement of the transportation system. A small group of visitors , the chance to interact ask questions and to learn from our guide and group members. Excellent / excellent !
A very informative and interesting tour
Loved our tour about Art Deco and TFL. Titilaya was a great tour guide. Really interesting to see the posters and hear about the history. Great pace and length!
The tour was wonderful, so informative and interesting!
A fabulously interesting tour, lead by Karen, showing the links between Art Nouveau, Art Deco in the posters/artwork at the museum.
Amazing experience and informative guide
We took a tour with AHID. He was very informative and knowledgeable about the subject matter very pleasant and I learned a lot.
Our guide, Ahid, was great! I showed up to the museum not knowing about the tour and just jumped in. It was a great introduction to the museum and it's amazing that this is included in ticket cost. The tour was around 45 minutes and I learnt so much. It's great to have each poster in the art deco collection explained by a person than having to read the copy beside the piece. Helped me understand the context and the story much easier.
I learned a lot about the art surrounding the underground, and thought the guide (Ahid) was very informative and fluent
Interesting tour regarding art deco and the underground. Karen was informative and knowledgable
Super interesting and I learned a lot of history of the art decor poster during the 1 hour the tour lasted. The guide was great, and passionate
Great content and good posters collection!
We had a brilliant visit to the London Transport Museum. It is easily one of the most family-friendly and engaging museums in central London and admission fee was really reasonable compared to other museum's. Interactive & Hands-on: The kids loved being able to sit in the driver’s cab of the old Tube trains, step aboard historic horse-drawn omnibuses, and get up close to vintage double-decker trams and taxis. Neurodivergent Friendly: The open, welcoming environment, clear layout, and sensory-friendly accessibility (including dedicated quiet times available to book) make it fantastic for neurodivergent visitors to explore comfortably at their own pace. The Stamper Trail: The stamper trail kept our son completely hooked as we explored the different levels. It gave him a fun target to hunt for at every section. Rich History & Displays: From Victorian-era horse buses and early 1920s Q-stock Underground carriages to the fascinating "London's Transport at War" gallery, there is a huge amount of heritage packed into the building. Great Layout: Spanning multiple floors, the museum moves seamlessly through the history of London’s transit system up to modern times, complete with full-scale vehicles and immersive murals. Perfect activity for children of primary school age—plenty of opportunities for photos and active exploration. Plan for around 2 to 3 hours to cover all the galleries comfortably. Located right in the heart of Covent Garden, making it very convenient to combine with lunch nearby. Highly recommended for families, history buffs, or anyone curious about how London moved through the ages!
A very informative tour of the posters of LT, in the Art Deco style
Thank you Ahid, for a fascinating and thorough tour through the art deco posters section.
Ahid gave us a very informative tour of the Art Deco posters in the global poster gallery, which helped me to understand the connections between the stunning posters and artwork in a way that would not have been possible from just walking around the exhibition, well laid out though it is.
Interesting and rewarding experience for our family (ranging in ages from 12 - 79). The kids enjoyed the diverse and interactive displays and being able to climb inside the vehicles. They were also able to learn a great deal about London's transport history, future, and the team that makes it all work. The adults enjoyed the Art Deco Poster Display and learning about London's Transport experience during the Great Wars. We only had 2.5 days in London, but we are all very glad that we were able to visit the London Transport Museum. Definitely a highlight for us.
ahid was great. very friendly and engaged.
Really enjoyable ‘Art Deco and the London Underground talk by Ahid. Will recommend to friends and family. Thank you
Ahid was a fantastic tour guide and we had an incredible experience. Their knowledge was highly informative and entertaining. Would highly recommend
We visited the London Transport Museum as a family, and it was hands down one of the highlights of our trip to London. The museum is incredibly interactive and engaging, perfect for both kids and adults. The kids loved being able to climb aboard the old buses and trains, and we adults were fascinated by how creatively the history of the city’s transport was told. The space is well organized, with clear information and exhibits that keep you engaged from start to finish. It’s worth setting aside a few hours to take it all in at a relaxed pace. A special mention goes to the gift shop, which is excellent! We found unique, high-quality items with such creative designs tied to London’s iconic transport system — perfect for taking home a special souvenir from the trip. Highly recommend it for anyone visiting London with family. We’ll definitely be back!
I've been to the London Transport Museum a few times and it's a great visit, through the history of London and the different modes of transport. Recently I attended specifically for the Art Deco poster display and managed to join a guided tour with Ahid who was great, very knowledgable and keen to talk through the background and impact of Art Deco design on marketing post WWI. Really interesting and enjoyable.
We thoroughly enjoyed looking around the museum and learning more about the history of London Transport. The highlight was the Art Deco Tour. Ahid, our tour guide, talked us through some of the incredible posters and artwork associated with London Transport. Ahid was extremely knowledgeable, and his enthusiasm for the subject was infectious. He brought the history and artwork to life, making the tour both fascinating and enjoyable. We would highly recommend the tour to anyone interested in London’s history, design, or transport.
