Really great tour with our guide Alan. I liked that the tour focussed on the victims and not the whole "who is Jack". Be prepared to see some gruesome photos of the victims but also some interesting historical shots of the Victorian murder sites/streets which are really interesting. You will not see all of the murder sites as some are now completely developed and no longer exist but I think the tour still gives you a great feel for what Whitechapel would have been like in 1888. The following day we took ourselves to Mitre Square to pay respects to Catherine Eddowes (not part of the tour) but not far to go. I would thoroughly recommend this tour - ps Charles Cross is JTR!!

Myself and my 2 adult children booked this excursion during our visit to London. WE ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT! Our tour was booked for the evening at 7:30pm, which I highly recommend doing this Jack the Ripper walking tour at night. It's more eerie to walk the streets of London at night learning all about the notorious Jack the Ripper. Our Tour guide was AMAZING! We learned so much on this walking tour from him, details we never knew about the history of Jack the Ripper. Our Tour guide was courteous, well-spoken and, most importantly, a true historian and VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE in his expertise about Jack the Ripper. The use of the Ripper Vision was a bonus. To see the images from that century was even more fascinating. It was our favorite tour/excursion on our 4 days visiting London and if you enjoy spooky history and don't mind walking for 90 minutes around the streets of London, I highly recommend this tour.
Really good walking tour with projected photos. Guide was very knowledgeable.
Very informative yet really fun ,well done ! Did a lot of walking but didn’t seem like a chore going to all the different locations.
Alan was good.Need to have speaker system and need to have smaller groups. Couldn’t unfortunately hear very well.
Our tour guide was AMAZING! She was a great storyteller and had a really fun personality. Using the projector throughout the tour, with real places the victims visited, was a great addition that helped bring the story/history to life. What was awesome was that there was no censoring whatsoever, and we got to see the true horror that went down! 11/10 would recommend if you don't have a squeamish stomach.
Very knowledgeable guide. Had a personal interest in the ripper himself, so wasn’t just reading off a script. Very clear spoken. Wearing hearing aids I often struggle but he projected he words clearly and loudly so I never missed a thing.
The guide was very knowledgeable and the use of the projector and photos/images brought the story to life
Our guide was very knowledgeable on the subject. He has actually written and published a book about the Jack The Ripper story. We saw parts of London we would never ordinarily visited. I do think the group size was too large to get the full experience. I would still recommend this walking tour to anyone that enjoys a little true crime history.
Very fun. Guide was great. Started to rain so that bummed us out but everyone made the best of it. Good experience.
Brilliant guide. Fun and informative. My Dad and I really enjoyed the evening. Our guide was great. Tha k you
Great experience with a great tour guide. It’s a little sad how much has changed in recent years as buildings get torn down, but still a very interesting history lesson. Remember to dress warm!
Great tour to do. Guide was fun and bought his personality to the tour.
Brilliant Tour guide full of Knowledge. Some of the pics are a bit upsetting not recommended for groups with young children or people who are not good with actual crime scene pics. To be fair they do explain some pics are not for everyone and count down before showing it. And when its being removed. Well worth the money .
Overall we had a really fun and interesting night. The guide was well versed in Ripper lore and did a great job tying in the murders, suspects and theories. I really got a higher quality guide than I expected. The iPad and hand held projections added to the story and were useful in informing a large walking group of 30ish. Critiques include two major themes, the guide was often hard to hear and never raised or amplified his voice to a large group. Two, the group was very large and saw q
I did this tour with a friend who was visiting London. It was the third time I've done this particular tour in about 12 years. The previous two times were brilliant but not so much this time. We seemed to charge about in a random order, we were shown a picture of the first victim while alive (it wasn't her), and no photos at all of the fourth victim. There was very little discussion of the suspects (only a couple were mentioned and mainly in passing), and I don't remember visiting the site of the famous graffiti and apron on the night of the double event even thought we were close by. I might be doing the guide a huge disservice but they just didn't seem as knowledgeable as the others. I didn't find it very engaging this time round to be honest. I will say my friend thought it was ok and enjoyed it.
Absolutely wonderful! He was very informative, enthusiastic, and cared his guests well being. The experience was new and fun. A fascinating way to learn about Jack the Ripper.
A very interesting tour with a projector to show how places looked in 1880's which helped transport you back in time. Rob was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Took about 90 minutes but time flew by even tho it was a chilly evening.
I enjoyed seeing East London, but I didn't feel I learned anything on this tour. It is a lot of walking, but the stops were not that interesting.
Experience was awesome! Andre was a very professional and engaging tour guide. He knew the area quite well as he used to live there, and he knew how to put on a show. You will do alot of walking but it is worth it and you might even find out the identity of jack the ripper by the end of your tour.
Very informative and interesting. Lovely day for a stroll. There were some people in the group whom were bothersome. They veered off halfway through.
Had a great time, Sinead was awesome ! She is a great storyteller and I loved the projector with images
Alan, our tour guide was phenomenal. His knowledge and expertise was absolutely off the charts. He walked us through the murders, the murder scenes, and the women who brutally died at the hands of Jack the Ripper. Clearly, Alan knows Whitechapel and the other areas of the murders better than anyone. He truly made this tour, one of my favorite London experiences.
Very interesting but does involve walking on uneven surfaces at night. That said the tour guide does a wonderful job leading the group safely, watching out especially for the Uber Eats Delivery bikes.
The guide was quite knowledgeable but it was sometimes difficult to hear what he was saying as there were 30 people crowded round and he did not use a mouthpiece. There were not as many interesting stops as I’d hoped, we saw very little original sites, not his fault but disappointing none-the-less. He did not talk about some interesting facts that we already knew from watching documentaries. The Ripper Vision was just basically showing well known photos of buildings and corpses- not how it’s advertised where it shows images superimposed over the modern buildings. I would not recommend because you could probably do it yourself with a guide book and learn just as much.
Sheena was amazing!!! This was not a tour that glorified serial killers or was distasteful in any way. We discussed the reality of the life these victims lived, and the struggles they faced in the time they were living in. My favorite part was the fact that Sheena highlighted the changes that were made because of these poor women. The best tour of my trip for sure! And I loved the projector that showed the buildings back in the day and the illustrations. Definitely worth the extra cost!
The Jack the Ripper guided tour was fantastic! Our guide was a fitting character for the event, right down to the leather case the Ripper was believed to carry. He was entertaining and very informative. My wife wasn’t sure she’d enjoy the tour since it was mainly my jam - she loved it! Well done!
The guide was very informative. We appreciated Ripper Visor!
Interesting (a little gruesome) material. Very knowledgeable guide did an excellent job of warning us in case you didn’t want to see the gory pictures.
A very enjoyable and informative tour. Our guide was very knowledgeable and passionate about the subject..
Fantastic information and good access to areas of whitechapel still standing today. Outstanding ripperologist
It is a real history lesson with stops where the murders occurred, he was very knowledgeable and played the part well! Even dressed as a Dr!
We have had other ripper walk tours, and this one disappointed us. We went to a number of locations that seemed unrelated to Ripper, but had good white walls, so he could show us photos on them. Some locations are unrecognizable by now, of course, with the passage of time, I can expect that, but we didn’t see one recognizable location. The part that we found the most disappointing was his excessive dramatization when he explained and described the killings. We are talking about human beings, and he shouldn’t have a smile on his face as he describes how they are ripped through with a knife. He also seemed very dismissive of them, describing the victims several times as all being prostitutes, as though that somehow means they are less, and yet that subject has been heavily studied and written on over the years and likely untrue.
This private tour was so awesome! Peter was our guide and he walked us through East London providing us so much detail not just of Jack the Ripper but the history of London at the time and how the city overcame this horrible tragedy! We really enjoyed this and highly recommend.
The guide Mick was amazing, very knowledgeable about Jack the Ripper, the victims and local knowledge. The tour, as gruesome as the legend of Jack is, was still done in such a way to keep you enthralled in the crimes. 100% worth it!
Peter was an exceptional guide. And made the whole tour extremely enjoyable. Very considerate too when crossing the busy roads.
Fantastic experience thanks to our engaging guide Andre! He was excellent with sharing his knowledge, sharing warnings prior to looking at any photos, & keeping our group safely on track. My partner, friends, & I all asked questions about the history, theories, etc. to which Andre happily answered. Even after the tour was completed he was more than willing to share his insights which we greatly appreciated. Andre exudes tons of passion & humor throughout the tour and we observed other tours trying to listen in on ours. Thanks Andre for being awesome & making this a great experience!
Excellent tour! Guide was very knowledgeable and gave us lots to think about in regards to who the murderer may have been.
Wasn’t particularly interesting. While I appreciate the history the area has been so paved over you can’t really envision the history. Shaky projector work. Way too many people I think if it was more private I would have been interested. At the one I went to it felt like 50+ people. Also tour guide needs microphone if your group is going to be this big. Rob the tour guide was pleasant though.
This was an absolutely fabulous evening. Very knowledgeable guide and the Ripper Vision made it even better.
Was Great and The host Rob was very knowledgeable!
Our guide was great - we really enjoyed the tour and learning more about the Whitechapel area. It was a little longer than I expected, but would highly recommend it.
Very knowledgeable guide. The added Ripper Vision was a plus. Ability to identify murder sites now taken over by modern buildings was fantastic.
I booked this for my husband who loves murder mysteries. This is a little bit eery and very informative. So glad we did it.
We were late but caught Up. It was interesting. Dry thought provoking, I wish we had made it in time. Guide really seemed like he had a lot of insight, And enjoyed what he was doing.
I went into this tour with some expectations. Of course I understood that many of the places where the Ripper crimes occurred would not exist anymore. The city has drastically changed since those days. However, I thought we would visit as close to the locations as possible. I thought the Ripper Vision might even be superimposed over a current structure showing what it looked like back in the day. None of this was the case. There were no moments of our guide pointing at a spot and saying "it happened right here!". This is really just a story-telling excursion that happens to take place in the same general area as where the murders happened. There were some interesting POIs. For example, the Ten Bells Pub, from where the Ripper lured two victims. But most of it was our guide walking us around and talking about each murder and potential suspects. Why am I giving this tour 4 stars? Our guide, Rob, was very entertaining! He gave tons of information and discussed the crime scenes, suspects, and even delved a little into modern efforts to solve these crimes. If the guide had been someone without the dramatic flair that Rob possesses maybe this would have lost another star. But Rob made it just about worth it. And, certainly, walking around Whitechapel and seeing the old buildings at night gave it all a spooky ambience. In the end I think they do the best they can, but it's tough to give a tour of something that doesn't exist anymore.
Great tour. Our guide was Mick. He was somewhat of an expert and has even written a book on the subject. I don't know if you can request a certain guide but if you do this tour try and request Mick. He was very descriptive about the cases, brings you to the exact spot of the murders when possible (some things have been torn down and new things built), he had pictures/drawings of crime scenes. Some of it was quite gruesome but so, so interesting considering the killer was never caught.
The guide made the tour awesome, his knowledge and voice was so good. Yes he has a voice that I can listen to every day.
It’s a lot of walking but worth it. Try to get the guide that dresses up like the doctor. He’s awesome. I think his name was Joe.
Put on your walking shoes for this Ripper tour to see all the pertinent sites. A bit creepy because you can picture the crimes in front of your eyes. Tour guide was very knowledgeable and even dressed the part. We enjoyed seeing these scary parts of London, thanks!
