A long walk and a long day! But worth every moment, especially with guide Kim. He is a kind and attentive guide with a broad range of information and a heart for his guests. Every question received his thoughtful consideration, as did the two little kids on our walk. We strolled to, through and around many must-see locations while Kim gave us history and perspective -- I really gained a new perspective on this impressive city and its history. Book with confidence, be sure your shoes are comfortable enough for a 6-hour hike, and if it is winter get some of those pocket warmers from the sporting goods store.

- END POINT for London in a Day from the Tower option: Inside Westminster Abbey
Itinerary
Start your day in the heart of historic Westminster, surrounded by some of London’s most recognisable landmarks. Take in Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament as your Blue Badge guide introduces the people, power and events that have shaped Britain from this extraordinary corner of the capital. Please note: Guests selecting London in a Day starting from the Tower option will visit the same attractions and enjoy the same inclusions as the standard tour, but in the reverse order, starting at the Tower of London and ending at Westminster Abbey.
Step inside Westminster Abbey, the magnificent setting for royal coronations since 1066 and the final resting place of kings, queens, poets and some of Britain’s most famous figures. With pre-reserved entry, explore the Abbey with your expert Blue Badge guide and discover the stories behind royal weddings, state funerals and centuries of British history, from the Coronation Chair to the tombs of monarchs and Poets’ Corner. (8:45 AM and 9:00 AM tours include entry. For the 10:00 AM tour, the guide will provide an explanation of the Abbey from outside; entry is not included.)
Walk through St. James’s Park to Buckingham Palace, the world-famous London residence of the British monarch. Hear the stories behind royal life at the palace. Your guide will also bring you to Horse Guards Parade for a glimpse of Britain’s centuries-old royal traditions.
Enter the ceremonial heart of royal London at Horse Guards Parade, home to the King’s Life Guard and one of the capital’s great military traditions. See the mounted guards on duty and discover the history behind the uniforms, rituals and pageantry that have protected the monarch for centuries.
Continue through the heart of central London to Trafalgar Square, dominated by Nelson’s Column and surrounded by landmarks that tell the story of Britain’s past. Along the way, your guide connects the royal, political and cultural history you’ve encountered throughout the morning before time to pause for lunch and recharge ahead of the afternoon’s adventures.
Give your feet a rest as you take to the Thames for a sightseeing cruise through the heart of London. See the city from a completely different perspective as you pass landmarks including the London Eye, St. Paul’s Cathedral and The Shard, travelling east towards Tower Bridge and the final, and oldest, chapter of your day.
Finish your day inside the formidable Tower of London, a royal palace, prison and fortress with nearly 1,000 years of extraordinary history behind its walls. Follow your Blue Badge guide through stories of kings and queens, prisoners, executions and intrigue -from Anne Boleyn to the mysterious Princes in the Tower. Explore the medieval fortress and come face-to-face with its greatest treasure: the spectacular Crown Jewels, still used in royal ceremonies today.

An absolute must to see and learn so much. Jane was an amazing guide who kept the entire tour fun, interesting and made sure we saw and experienced as much as possible.
Excellent guide who was knowledgeable and willing to take the time to show an abundance of facts about the area. From Big Ben to the White Tower you will walk the breadth of downtown London to learn about the history of the most popular tourist destinations.
Best tour of London I’ve ever experienced and I’ve had several…Kyle was an amazing guide, knowledgeable, funny, accommodating…he made the day the high of our time in London! Book this tour- you won’t regret it!!
Excellent tour, but there is quite a bit of walking. Our tour guide, Nigel was fantastic and very knowledgeable. Even though it was raining and cold, Nigel made the tour very enjoyable.
I thoroughly enjoyed our tour with Andrew. He shared such great knowledge and historical context even discussing buildings that are not well known but have historical significance. Westminster Abbey was closed on the day we went but we were able to see the exterior and still get the history. The highlight for me was the Tower Bridge and Tower of London.
This is a must to do while visiting this vastly saturated historical country! People , culture, history, beauty, grandeur, brilliance , skills and talent. There is no possible way to encapsulate the experience. It was unexpectedly remarkable! Karen is passionate, knowledgeable . Her love for art is infectious! She is one of the best tour guides that I have had in my travels. Perhaps you can experience solving a mystery in an attempt of understanding a glimpse of the characters , tragedy, war, conquest, religion, arts in our world history.
Andrew was a wonderful tour guide, with so many interesting facts to share. And we liked how the day was broken up with a lunch break to rest and gear up for the afternoon. Very good tour!
Very interesting and informative, our tour guide was very informative and knowledgeable. Learned alot on this tour
The beginning of the tour was great, and our guide was very knowledgeable- but, Westminster Abbey was closed for the day (unexpected), and the boat ride was a public use (Uber) boat (not specifically for tours). Not only was there an unexpected 20 minute wait, but the boat operators split our group, and we couldn’t meet back up with the rest of the group for the remainder of the tour. We were supposed to meet the guide at a location, but when the 6 of us remaining arrived to the entrance to the Tower of London, one of the employees stated the group already went on. Very little communication with the service rep & no one came back for us until we met the tour guide toward closing time. There was no way to directly speak to the guide via phone. What was particularly disappointing was that the tour guide chose to continue with the boat ride instead of ensuring we were all on at the same time. Our Tower of London part was entirely self-guided.
Jessica from Walks Devor was fabulous! A walking encyclopedia on England! She was kind, smart, caring and honest about everything! We could not have asked for a better guide. She did above and beyond!
Almost 10 miles of walking with many stairs! Our guide Jessica saved the day with her personality and knowledge of what we were seeing. Historic venues!
Having a travel guide is definitely worth it. He was by far the best guide we have ever had. So full of knowlwdge.
Our guide Jane was wonderful! Very knowledgeable and considerate of the group. Well worth the money.
Bring a rain jacket and umbrella if it is raining. Also, there is a lot of walking so where good walking shoes.
We really enjoyed this tour. Amber was a perfect tour guide and filled us full of historical facts. Just know it is all walking (several miles), except for a short trip down the Thames River, so wear your good walking shoes. The weather was beautiful. Just wish there were more rest stops along the way.
It was a great tour! Lots of walking but very informative! Our tour guide was very knowledgeable! Would definitely recommend!
We had an amazing walk through the London rain with our guide Kim. He was a wonderful guide, down to earth, and passionate about the city and its history.
We four senior citizens were able to endure a rainy day, experience the best of London, enjoy a pub meal, and learn a great deal about the history of many parts of London. Our guide was extraordinary in that he was able to share history without being boring or condescending, throw in a mix of current and recent events, and still be sensitive and encouraging in less than perfect conditions with uhm, less than athletic participants. He made the tour, without doubt.
James was very informative of English history and answered everyone’s questions. Lots of walking. Very interesting!
James the guide was fabulous. A very informative tour at a great pace. Only down side was the water segment was an UBER boat so you really couldn’t see anything or get pictures- it is not a cruise as advertised.
Awesome tour! Marie was fantastic tour guide with depth of knowledge and clear explanations with a witty humor. We enjoyed our tour immensely!
We had a great time checking out all the sights on this itinerary. Our guide Jeff was super entertaining and knowledgeable. We would definitely recommend doing this trip but would say that there is ALOT of walking so saying you need to be in moderate shape is a stretch. We are in good shape but felt it at the end of the day. Happy to have spent the day learning about the venues and spending time with Jeff.
You will see a lot in just one day! Jackie was an incredible guide and really knew her material! Be prepared for walking
The perfect way to see many of the important London sites in a day! Jackie was amazing and gave just the right amount of history along with some memorable stories!
If you have a large group, it is difficult to find a place to eat at wiithin an hour's time. Our guide Geoff was Awesome!
I am so glad that we did the London in a Day tour! Our guide, Jackie, was kind, funny, professional, and knowledgeable. She clearly loves her city and loves sharing it others. This tour gives you a good exercise, but doesn't move so fast that you feel rushed. Jackie steered us to an excellent and clean pub for lunch and we had a full hour to eat, drink, and be merry. All time well spent!
Fabulous! You get to see all the best historical sites of London !!!!!! Our tour guide was exceptional. His name was Geoff.
James was a very knowledgeable and friendly tour guide who took care of our group's individual needs. It is hard to do a one day tour of London, which really requires a week to accomplish but we got an amazing overview of things by walking and by tour boat. Highly recommend this tour if you only have one day to see as much as possible. Love that we got to spend time in Tower of London as well.
This was a wonderful tour! We enjoyed learning so much about the different attractions in London! We spent more time in Westminster Abbey than expected - possible due to crowds. The walking was a lot but it was well worth it. Paul was full of knowledge of London and I would recommend him as a tour guide.
A very good experience of the most known entities in London. Significant walking throughout the day is required, but the Thames river transport is a valuable assist.
Since it is a walking tour, people need to know to wear comfortable shoes. I was very lucky. The weather was perfect so the walking tour was so enjoyable and the information was good. Andrew my tour Guide was professional enthusiastic and friendly.Andrew new all the history and presented a lot of information.. He included a lot of information and made the experience fun.
Our tour guide Andrew was very knowledgeable and personable. Although we didn’t realize it was a total walking tour, Andrew made it fun and enjoyable. Would recommend this tour to those looking for an all-day experience. This tour did not include entrance to Westminster. As we left at 10:00 am. Suggestion, place walking tour in the title of the tour going forward.
Linda did an amazing job and explained everything so well. She could not have done a better job answering all of our questions and making the day so enjoyable.
Daniel was very knowledgeable and answered any questions. The tour made it easy to enjoy the museum without being overwhelmed by the size and scope of it.
Mary was an outstanding tour guide, and did a great job of mixing in excellent historical information along with funny insights and commentary. She did a great job! Be advised, there is A LOT of walking and standing around in this tour, so it should avoided if you're not a regular walker or have mobility issues. I measured 14K steps on this day.
Our tour guide Patrick was excellent. He is a Londoner born and raised. He provided so much history and interesting information. He directed us to a nice Pub for lunch. We only had 2 days in London and were very glad we took this tour.
It is a very encompassing tour that takes you to many of the best attractions in London. I would highly recommend this tour.
The tour was excellent and provided wonderful sightseeing opportunities. Our tour director, Patrick, was highly knowledgeable, approachable, and provided clear, informative explanations throughout the trip.
Geoff was our guide and he did a fabulous job! The tour was interesting and he told us so many things about each place. We enjoyed the day very much and highly recommend this tour.
Patrick Voss was friendly and professional. Has a wide knowledge about English history. Really informative. He would answer any question.
Had a wonderful time on the walking tour. Patrick was very professional and knowledgeable. Highly recommend.
Alex was our guide. He is wonderful! He brings history to life! There is a lot of slow paced walking, we did stop for coffee in the morning and had an hour lunch break.
Such a great tour, the tour guides make all the difference in the experience and I can tell you that Jeremy Itzkowitz was a pleasure and awesome guide.
Ask for Alexander Hetherington. He was the best guy I have ever had on any tour absolutely. We went in Westminster. The history was wonderful. You can take pictures. We walk through Saint James Park stopped and had a coffee had a wonderful lunch in Trafalgar Square. Alex was just a vast volume of knowledge. I got very sick in the afternoon and had to give up part of our tour and he was wonderful and attentive, and found a place to rest and came back and checked on me.
Had the best tour guide that I’ve ever had on a tour. His name was Alex Hetherington. Highly recommend him. Gave us lots of additional information. Recommended places for lunch. I felt ill at one point at the tower of London, and he came back and checked on me and gave me some additional instructions to go see the things that I haven’t seen.
Just the right amount of history provided. Tour guide was wonderful and friendly. Wear good walking shoes!
The tour guide was excellent and very pleasant. She was very knowledgeable and gave a full history of each site. Please be aware that the tour requires a LOT of walking. Figure about 5+miles.
This experience is well worth the price. We only had one day in London and this enabled us to take in so much. Dominic was extremely knowledgeable, helpful, and personable. He took the time to connect with the everyone on the group. It was an enjoyable day.
A LOT of walking but it was a great experience. Saw everything i wanted and more. Paul was an amazing guide, informative and patient
