London Christmas Lights Bike Tour With Local Guide

What a great fun way to see the many different Christmas lights in London! Our local guide George expertly guided us to zip & whiz through streets, crowds, alleyways and bridges. I only bike occasionally and had joined this tour because of my kids, who are young adults, so initially this was a bit nerve wrecking for me. Our guide George made sure we were all safe and accounted for and that we were all enjoying the sights and the whole experience. It was evident he loves this city and loves showing off London to us. Kudos George 👍 excellent job!

Great way to see the city. If you are unfamiliar with the traffic laws for England, this may be a stressful event due to the amount of time spent in car traffic on the bike. Great tour guide and lots of fun.

What an amazing Christmas bike tour ! Biking thru the streets of London seeing all the festive lights & major neighbours up close & personal. Our bicycle Christmas light tour experience with our guide Chris was amazing. He is a fantastic guide and the paths we took were outstanding. My and my family who came from Greece were positively surprised of how perfect everything was. I totally recommend this for everyone!!

George was a great tour guy and we saw a lot. The only issue I would mention the tour advertising started a 3 hour tour at the start of the tour it was stated it would be a 3.5 hour tour. You should fix that so people can plan accordingly.

Just the best way to see London and the Christmas lights. Chris our guide was fantastic, very knowledgeable and had no problem navigating us through the Christmas crowds. Best London experience this year.

Saw a whole lot of central London. Great to see sites I normally wouldn't go to such as the different neighborhoods and squares. Learned about the history of the city with humorous anecdotes from our guide Dom. Stopped for pics here and there, wish we had more time for more of those. Enjoyed seeing the city decorated for the holidays with millions of lights strung through the streets. Fun to be biking with other people from around the world. Not sure this tour would be recommended for someone under 18 since you're biking through a crowded metropolis for three hours. Enjoyed the city at night with street lights and music. We rode at a good pace aware of the drizzle and wet pavement. London is mostly a bike city with those designated lanes which kept us mostly away from the traffic and pedestrians. Fun to be out at London during the night.

Chris did a fantastic tour! What a charming young man. His British humor really hit the mark. His knowledge of Saville Row was perfectly tailored to the tour.

Ollie our Vibeing Santa guide was so awesome and funny, leading us deftly thru 13km of crazy busy streets to multitude of wonderous Christmas lights, shopping strip's and the odd iconic building. I must say, I'm a regular bike rider and it was tricky weaving thru all the traffic and pedestrians at night, but it's all moving so slowly that even if an accident happened, the worse injury would be a scratched limosine. Relaxed, kind , helpful staff at the grassroots company office We will never forget this tour. Wishing Ollie all the best, this man is going far.

Having been on bike tours in London previously, we were very excited for this special Christmas edition. Our tour was scheduled for December 23, which proved to be a very challenging day. Crowds of shoppers on the route were so thick that passing through them was nearly impossible and quite unnerving. The Christmas decorations were, indeed, lovely but much of the enjoyment of the tour was compromised by the severe congestion of the route and the dangerous street crossings involved. As I said at the beginning, all previous bike tours have been super fun and informative—this experience was exceptional and based on the very specific holiday timing.

Nani was an amazing guide. We had a wonderful time and still cannot believe how much we were able to see. All of the London highlights were on our route. Highly recommend.

Great experience riding a bike through central London at twilight seeing the Christmas illuminations. Always felt safe, bikes well maintained, high-vis and quality helmets provided. Our tour was led by Conner a very knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide. Viewed many sights which very likely would be missed without a guide. Very enjoyable and good fun.

Amazing way to cover a lot of ground and see a lot of things in a brief period of time! We were lucky to have a clear evening and enjoyed all the Christmas and historical sights.

We had a lovely tour guided by Chris who was very funny and had some great facts. We enjoyed seeing the Christmas lights of London as well as some quieter spots too. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking to something fun and a bit different in the city this festive season!

We had a great time on our tour in London. The Christmas lights were spectacular. Our guide was knowledgeable and provided great stories and history that added to the experience. It was Black Friday weekend so very busy with shoppers and traffic. Our guide made us feel safe but I will say it is not an adventure for the faint of heart. You really need to pay attention to navigate the crowds and traffic.

Our family of 5 really enjoyed the expansive bike tour which not only included Christmas lights, but a solid number of interesting historic stops. Chris was a great tour guide, with a lot of spirit and both fun and interesting facts. The chance to experience biking through a huge metropolis like London was exhilarating and a great way to see a large swath of the city in a relatively short amount of time. The Christmas lights were all so dazzling and creative, each section with their own 'theme' and brilliance. We appreciated the information that Chris shared with us at each stop, everything from royal history to that of the Beatles and more contemporary trivia. We loved the looks of surprise and smiles that people wore as we passed them (along with some funny offhanded comments) and enjoyed the range of Christmas music Chris DJ'd during the tour. There were a few pretty crowded spots that we had to navigate whilst walking our bikes, but we managed like strong salmon swimming upstream! Overall, it was a unique way to see the city and get into the holiday spirit!

A tour to be recommended, and especially with our guide Chris. He was very enthusiastic and had lots of stories and history about London. It is very nice to experience the Christmas atmosphere on a bicycle. The Christmas lights in London are incredibly beautiful.

This was great fun! A great way to spot all the nice Christmas light spots in London and also to get some historical and interesting information about the city. Birgit made sure we could drive safely through the very crowded streets (we did the tour on Saturday afternoon) with a lot of enthousiasm. She also took many pictures. Would surely recommend this tour!

It was a great way to see the big sights but you also get to see a lot of smaller sights you may not otherwise find. Birgit was our tour guide and she was excellent. She was very knowledgeable and made us feel safe amongst the busy London traffic. She stopped and took pictures of us along the way too which was very much appreciated. Seeing the Christmas lights on the bikes was one of the highlights of our whole trip.

We had the best time with Jordi on our Christmas Lights tour. We’re no strangers to London having lived in and around it all our lives but having an expert guide to help us weave our way through the sights and the West End must see light displays was a joy. We got so much from it and having him share some of his knowledge with us was immense and so interesting. Nothing was too much trouble, questions or photo stops. The pace was never rushed. It was a very relaxed ride and it felt very personalised. We would recommend this tour and will definitely be returning for other tours in 2022. Give it a try and support the London tourist industry. It’s having a very hard time and it shouldn’t be taken for granted that these wonderful companies will still be around waiting for us post Covid without our support now through the hard times. The Christmas Lights Tour surprised us by its length and depth. It really covered it all at peak Christmas time, Dec. 23rd evening! From Sloan square to Oxford street, from Seven Dials to Hide Park. Amazing!

This was a pretty good tour to take on Christmas Eve. Our guide Jordi was a decent guide who managed to keep a very large group (including children) together through some very crowded spaces. We really enjoyed seeing many lights throughout the city of London, but the tour started quite early and the first 1/3 of the tour had very few lights to see. The end of the tour got better, but there were many fantastic Christmas light displays in London that were not included in the tour. We wondered why we spent so much time visiting places in the government areas that had no lights when we could have seen more impressive light displays elsewhere. We also would have liked to hear more Christmas-light-centered commentary from our guide. For example, we didn't get much background on the impressive Carnaby Christmas light installation, which seemed like a big miss since there is a very interesting story behind it that we had to look up for ourselves later. Still, it was a festive way to spend a Christmas Eve and we had a great time.

We took during the day the london tour. Our guide, Eilen, told many new things, took us to places we never been before. Equipment was all new and very safe. Because we were very enthousiastic we decided to take another tour the very next day! Again with Eilen we took the light tour. We saw again new things in Londen and shs showed us a restaurant were we went later in the evening to eat there Japanees!! She was right it was delicious! Without Eilen we would never found that restaurant. Next time we will book another tour. In a couple hours you see many things in London.

I joined the Christmas Light tour on 23 Dec, it was amazing. The tour guide was great! He was very nice and patient, told us a lot of history about London and our tour over-run almost an hour. It was wonderful experience. Highly recommended!!!!!!!

I am Londoner however I decided to into the London Christmas Lights Tour to rediscover in an alternative way. I took the tour today and I found the experience lovely, instructive and very enjoyable enjoyable. Jordi is a knowledgeable and cool guide.

We went on the first christmas-light tour this year. The start was very chaotic. The trip was long and we’ve seen a lot but we missed a short break to get a coffee or something else. We really would love to see and get some more historical information about places/London in stead of only christmas decoration. The balance was off. Streets in the center are extremely busy, sometimes our tourleader didn’t pay attention to the group. Tour isn’t fit for kids under 12. With some it would be a five star event.

I was one of a group of 7 friends who took up this tour, pedalling with another couple in a total convoy of 9 behind our tour guide Elmer. Very impressed with the check in process, where Hi-Viz vests, helmets (as well as Santa hats) were handed out, and all our bicycles checked for safety and adjusted to our size. The route, which covered about 8 miles, was mostly level and took in many wonderful sights of London, with regular stops for information and all accompanied by happy Christmas music played from a speaker on the tour leader's bike. I was really pleasantly surprised by how well planned the route was, taking us on quiet streets, on purpose built cycle paths, and managing risks very effectively when we hit more busy areas. I know London well, but even so discovered some alleys and facts unknown to me on this tour - even though it would also suit those visiting London for the first time. The bike is perfect for a tour of the lights - fast enough to cover the ground, but slow enough to savour the views, and to enjoy all the Christmas sounds and smells. Elmer was helpful, friendly and informative, and very well prepared - our group had both a chain slip and (on a different bike) a puncture - both to be expected with normal bike use, but both were dealt with quickly and efficiently so that we did not lose time, or spoil our enjoyment. When we returned the bikes it was clear that they would all be freshly serviced after each use, and it was a very easy walk to Lambeth North tube to go home. Excellent fun!

We started at the end of the afternoon for a bike ride through the beautiful decorated city of London! It was very busy but that makes the tour also an adventure :-). Our friendly guide Elmer has led us safely through the traffic. But how we enjoyed the tour.....all the wonderful lights in the streets, the shop windows...Wow!!

<p>Had a great time! Our guide, Felix, was very informative and friendly to all. If you're not confident on a bike or on London streets at night, this is probably not for you. You are moving most of the night and riding on some major roads. The lights were beautiful, but would have liked a bit of extra time to stop and take photos where possible.</p>

<p>Felix was an excellent guide. He was always conscience of the group and their safety, and he was very polite with pedestrians and drivers we encountered. On top of that, he was a fount of knowledge about London send it's neighborhoods!</p>

<p>Take the tour before you see the sights. Our mistake was that we took the tour after we had been to many places, so we hadn't seen too many new things however riding the bike around town was fun. Because of the amount of traffic in the West End at night at Christmas, it can be a little tricky getting around, but the guide is skilled in keeping the group together and getting in and out of traffic. The guides were fun and it was a good time.</p>

<p>Felix was terrific -- a great tour guide who related the history of our sites with knowledge, wit and personality. I admit the London traffic both pedestrian and motor was intimating - it was very crowded on boxing day but Felix got us through safely. Would definitely chose him as a tour guide again but must admit I enjoyed the back streets more than the streets crowded with traffic.</p>

<p>My husband and I took this tour at the end of November . We were worried about the predictable bad weather, fortunately it only rained for a small portion of the trip. This is a wonderful way to see what a magical city London is. It really helped me get more familiar with the layout of the land . So different to experience it by bicycle. We were a small group, just five, including our very knowledgeable guide. Always be ready for rain, don't forget a waterproof jacket with a hood. We both thoroughly enjoyed the tour.</p>

<p>Biking in London is definitely an experience! I was the only one booked for my day (probably due to it being a Monday), so it turned out to be a private tour. My guide was fun and knowledgeable, also watching out for my safety in rush hour traffic...he even had a flat tire and was apologetic, (so a bit of down time) but I walked around taking pics as he fixed his flat and he extended the trip. I highly recommend this trip to anyone, especially if you want some exercise as you sight see, learn about certain landmarks, and it's a great way to familiarize yourself with different areas of the city!</p>

<p>This trip I can really recommend as I enjoyed it a lot. The cycling was easy and we covered a large area and I realised how compact London is. The Xmas lights were a delight to see and the guide well informed ,<br/> Cycling in London is always a highlight when visiting London.</p>

<p>This was a most interesting tour, visiting in a short time many more places than could have been visited on foot. The guide was expert at keeping the group, which included some quite inexperienced riders, together, in the very busy pre-Christmas crowds. His commentary at stopping points was, of necessity, brief but always relevant. Some of the bikes would have benefitted from some mechanical attention prior to the ride.</p>
