This was a mid level experience. You literally get on and look at muddy water as you cross for 10-15 mins. You can stay on or get off and cross it back to the original starting point. It lasted a total of 20 mins, if that. The clear floor is not worth it. You won’t see fish or anything beneath you other than muddy water. Just pay the $18 tour.

The London Cable Car is worth considering if you are already visiting Greenwich, The O2 or the Royal Docks. The journey itself is fairly short, but the elevated views over the Thames and east London make it more interesting than an ordinary river crossing. I would probably combine it with another attraction rather than travel across London solely for the ride. It is also worth checking the weather beforehand, as clear conditions make quite a difference to the view. Overall, it is a simple and enjoyable addition to a half-day itinerary in this part of London.
If going for fun, go in the evening. It's really beautiful to see the city lights. We all enjoyed the ride. The futuristic-looking cabins were really cool.
Need a clear day which we had so able to see a lot for miles but don’t go up thinking you can see much in central London. Otherwise a very pleasant was to see some (not all) of east London from a birds eye perspective
An exciting experience soaring 90 metres above the Thames. Panoramic views over the London skyline and Royal Docks are spectacular. Smooth ride & good value. Recommended!
Excellent experience in London cheap and extraordinary. Many thanks to Marc who was able to convince my wife to come with us on the cable car!
Grandchildren, 11 and 14, thought it might be fun to combine a Clipper Uber river bus and cable car on a trip to TimeWalk at Excel and TOCA (football) at O2, from and to Putney. Prebooked and without crowds on a closed umbrella day, we went out and back, chatting about how long it has taken to run on the level the maximum 90 metres height (about 100 yards). On the way back we read about the height of the headless Demon. It is easy to enter and to leave the cable car. I get dizzy if I stand on my dignity, let alone two steps on a library stair. Like the London Eye, there is no vertigo. We (11-82) commend the experience.
A great way to see the Thames River meander in both directions and view the skyscrapers scattered in many pockets around London, it is a great way to see the East End rehabilitated from its old dock era, with the O2 arena standing out as one approaches from the Victoria Wharf.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Exceptional Customer Service from Marco! We had such a wonderful experience thanks to Marco at the front desk of Greenwich Peninsula, the London Cable Car! He was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and genuinely helpful. He took the time to point us in the right direction, offer great suggestions on places to visit, and recommend places to eat. His recommendations made our experience that much better! Marco’s warm personality, professionalism, and beautiful smile (with those gorgeous teeth! 😁) made him stand out. He went above and beyond to make sure we felt welcomed and knew where to go. It’s always refreshing to meet someone who takes pride in their work and genuinely enjoys helping others. Marco from Morocco, you are a gem! 🇲🇦 Thank you for making our London experience even more memorable. Keep that beautiful smile and positive energy! Employees like you are a true asset to any organization. I hope management recognizes the excellent service you provide. Highly recommend! 👏🏽✨
The cable car trip was fantastic, easy access no queuing, it helped that it was glorious sunshine & no wind, would definitely recommend to anyone thinking about doing it.
Great experience. Done at twilight so beautiful sunset helped make the experience even better.
We used this as a fun way to hope over to the O2 for dinner, as we were staying close to the Excel. Our family of four pitched up and got straight on without pre-booking, and we waited on a few minutes before we got into our car. We shared our pod with another couple on the way over, but were allowed one to ourselves on the way back from the O2 (which probably explains the significant queue upon return). Not cheap for such a short ride, but of course you are paying for the views/ experience. We were lucky in that the weather was mostly clear, although gusty winds did a cause a couple of moments of consternation on the way across, given some very apparent swaying. Overall, a really cool experience and we’re very glad that we did it.
The view was amazing and the ride from boarding to leaving was smooth.
I stayed at the nearby Crowne Plaza Docklands for Laver Cup, which was at the O2 and the easiest way to get there is by cable car. I was actually excited for this trip daily, and my hotel even comped me a round trip ticket. It’s a scenic and efficient way to travel between O2 and the Royal Victoria Docklands area. My significant downgrade in rating comes from one notable frightening and negative experience with a security guard called Monsouri (sp?) I was leaving Friday night’s Laver Cup match and once I realized the cable car closed at 10PM, did my best to hustle over there. I got there probably a minute after the formal closing time. I had a round trip ticket so truly only needed to be let upstairs, as there were people still waiting to take the cable back across. This guard snapped at me even after I showed him my round trip ticket, physically blocked me as if I was a criminal and told employees that if anyone tried to help me “THEY WILL BE SACKED.” I was told to “get on the train like everybody else.” A young woman employee tried to soften the situation and explained why, at that point, they wouldn’t be able to allow me up and they were sorry about that. I can appreciate that there are rules and that I was technically “late” and missed the opportunity to take the last run for the evening. It was my first time there and a lesson to simply plan better and leave myself more time. No problem. What I didn’t appreciate was an aggressive & rude security guard using the tiny bit of power that he had to intimidate me as well as the cable car employees into silence. I think that people who work in public-facing jobs were there are tourists have a particular responsibility to use strong judgment, problem-solving skills and consideration. I was not afforded that by this security guard. In this scenario, a decision could have been made to allow a solo woman traveler with a paid round-trip ticket to dash upstairs to catch the last few cars that were still running so as to avoid a tube ride that would leave her in a secluded area alone late at night, rather than being dropped off by cable car in a well-lit area near the hotel. It was also a Friday night with a special event at the O2 that they knew would run past 10PM. it seemed odd that the cable cars would close so early anyway. One straggler right at closing on this particular night would not have upset the apple cart. But I could have been on fire and this guard wouldn’t have thrown water on me. That’s how small I felt after that encounter. As I was walking away, another male cable car employee who was leaving work apologized to me and said if it hadn’t been for that guard stepping in the way he did, they probably would have let me go up, as I had a valid round trip pass and they didn’t have to “open the till” or do anything special for me—and because the cars were still running with people waiting to go back when this all first started. He even set me about toward the correct train, which I appreciated. And just as I thought—it let me off in a secluded area but fortunately I made it to the hotel safely. I had tickets for Laver Cup the entire weekend and took the cable car back to O2 the next day. I felt this merited escalation and I spoke with the manager Ozzy about it. I’m grateful I did. He confirmed that the security guard had no authority to say that anyone who helped me “would be sacked” and that perhaps in this case better judgment could have been used or at least explained in a more reasonable way. For my trouble he gave me complimentary passes for the rest of the weekend. Ozzy, if you’re reading this thank you for your kindness, hospitality and respect. You restored my faith and made me feel better about riding the cable car again. And to that security guard and the company that employs people like him: Do better. Do not take your misery out on tourists and abuse your power with people who theoretically rely on you for protection. Kindness costs you nothing; the opposite ultimately costs you a lot.
A very enjoyable experience and well worth the money. The manager at the Greenwich Peninsula end was very helpful ensuring I had the right tickets for myself and granddaughter. Great value and great enjoyment. Thanks.
Great experience, no queues, just got straight on. Great part of our team day out
Good value for money, did this in the evening. Fantastic views, very smooth ride. Loved seeing the London lights.
It was a ok experience. If u have time u can do this but if short of time not worth
Great experience in the glass bottom cable car. The views of London were very good. Lovely staff especially Razvan who helped with our ticket etc and made sure we accessed the correct cabin with the glass floor. Definatly do it again, maybe with the karaoke. 🤣
Visited this as it was adjacent to the O2, and looked interesting. As others have said it's not about the destination (boarding from the O2 side, not much to do at the other end), more about the journey! Good views of the Thames, London City Airport, Thames barrier, etc. Well organised and not busy when we visited. There is a well hidden cafe around the back at the O2 end with childrens play area. Not sure why this is not promoted by TFL / First Group.
Cost was acceptable. Was a bit shorter than I expected. it was however a pleasant relaxing ride we all enjoyed. Views were good and just a short walk to the uber boat which we also used. I would recommend and would probably go again with other family members.
Marc is fantastic!!!! Saved my handbag xx
Very nice Guy Marc, a lot of Tipps abd Tricks,
The cable car is located near O2 - where there is shopping and restaurants in addition to arena events (North Greenwich Station on the Jubilee Line). The ride is very smooth with great views - but be forewarned that there is little to do on the opposite side. No worries, lots to do on the O2 side. If not crowded, they make a point of allowing small groups or couples to have a cable car to themselves - nice touch! Thoroughly enjoyed this ride which is also a good value!
I booked this as an add on to the O2 climbing experience. To be honest I was underwhelmed, the pod sits 8 comfortably but it says for 10, that would have been a squeeze, fortunately we were a part of 8, there was no queue, just hopped on, virtually no interaction with staff. We stayed on for the return trip, but honestly the most exciting thing was when they stopped us for a few seconds with the brake. Nice that a plane flew overhead during our journey, but sadly wouldn’t go back.
I had a wonderful time with my family on the London Cable Car while celebrating my 50th birthday. I traveled all the way from Riyadh to make this milestone birthday adventurous and memorable, and the experience exceeded my expectations. The views were breathtaking, and sharing this special moment with my loved ones made it even more unforgettable. Highly recommended!
Transport to the o2 via the cable car was actually quick, as we had bought the fast track tickets, but whatever you do , do not get a return ticket after a concert, because you are just throwing your money down the grid !!! When you search on the web for times , it states the last ride is 10 pm on a Friday unless there is a concert on , that is not the case at all and is false advertising!!!! If you do not run after 10 pm , do not state times will vary when a concert is on!!! O2 really need to work on transport for gigs, as the queues outside are humongous and ridiculous!!!!
Fantastic experience - such lovely views across London. Highly recommend!
First time ever I went with my family and I loved it so amazing Thrill Price was affordable I am planning to come again with other family members soon 👍👍
Easy to book online! Easy lineups not very long to wait, ticket on phone wallet. Views fantastic, bright sunny day! Really high!! Easy access and exiting. Helpful smilie staff. Brilliant!
Very good. Views were fantastic. Marc was lovely and very helpful
First time on these cable cars , really good and well worth the money. We did a round trip , and the views over London were amazing . We stayed on the Sun Born Yatch Hotel , it was a good way of travelling over the water to the O2. Would definitely recommend !
Did round trip and Teddy Bear Workshop. The Workshop was fabulous. We had 25 children making bears. They all had a wonderful time and we look forward to a return visit. The staff were friendly and helpful.
Lovely experience with the family. Went is school holidays but not busy so was able to have our own cable car both ways.
I really enjoyed getting the cable cars as a form of transport enjoying the view over the Thames and seeing the lovely landmarks from the top it was an amazing ride.
We went on a hot summer day and the cable car was shut down due to the heat. Unfortunately we couldn’t get back and had to take the train back to where we come from. There is no option for the ride back to be refunded. Unfortunately there was no further information of the cable car closing down in advance. The view was nevertheless amazing.
Unique cable far ride over thames river. 90 m above the river. 360 degree view of london . Price around 15 pound . 20 to 30 minutes ride , car can fit 6 people.
Great experience on a very hot summers day
This was our first proper time coming to London sightseeing and this was the very first time doing an activity like this. Staff seemed to be well organised and had a system going on which was great. Views were great could see everything. The price was great just a shame it wasn’t for longer otherwise I would have give 5 star. Overall myself and my son both enjoyed ourselves. Thank you!
What a great experience on a beautiful summers day. Both me and my children thoroughly enjoyed it. Very friendly welcoming staff, easy to navigate and we all enjoyed the ride
Nice experience, especially around sunset or at night when you can see the skyscrapers all lit up. The return journey takes around 20 minutes and costs £14, which feels a bit overpriced. We arrived an hour before closing, but we still had to share the cable car with other people because they said they were “about to close,” even though there was still an hour left and only a few people were waiting.
Excellent experience for 30 pupils and 5 teachers on a school trip. Not busy during the day and there were no queues. We received a discounted rate due to the size of the group. The staff seemed friendly and it is definitely worth the experience.
Our first time on the Thames cable car, crossing the river to arrive at Greenwich via 1 stop westbound on the Uber boat. What a hoot! Lovely, capable staff, minimal to no wait time, and, of course, amazing 360 degree panoramic views over the Thames and London. And at £7 for adult single, or £13.50 return, it's good value too. Access was easy, up ramp or stairs or lift. I have a dodgy knee, so we took the lift. Phew!
We did the combined cable car & river cruise round trip, took 3 hours, highly recommended and value for money, amazing views, friendly staff, comfortable on both cable car & boat ( only downside was wish the boat had more outdoor seats as weather was lovely) , we still had a great time, we want to do same trip again but with the kids this time, We we staying on Sunborn London it was nice to see the cable cars lit up at night xx
The cable car is quite warm on a hot day, and goes pretty fast, but it's a great experience! Kids and adults will love it!!
Great experience had to go because my 9year old daughter wanted to go while I’m scared of heights but had a great time
Really short, I though it would take longer
Lovely experience above the Thames. A bit too short though. Could have done two laps but would have to pay double the price.
We had a lovely time. Thank you.
We took the Beaver Scouts on a round trip on the Cable Car. We booked direct via email and were very grateful to receive a discount. Clearer information on the number of passengers per cable car (adults and children) would make it easier to plan trips like this in the future if possible. Staff all very friendly and the children all loved the cable car so much. Thank you.
