Love the tour. Make sure to download the app and use the direction icon to find the next stop. It was super easy to manage. I did wish they would announce the stops without having to put on a headset and listening to the audio. That would have been more helpful as we missed some main attractions. Overall it was worth booking

Great way to get around London since we were only here for a couple of days. Buses stayed on schedule pretty well. Crew was competent and generally pleasant. Audio system worked most of the time. Would recommend adding Stop Numbers to display in front; could not always hear or understand the audio.
Great value for money Great day 31 of October Evan mcdaniel
A great experience and a convenient way to discover the city at your own pace. The bus stops at all the main attractions, allowing you to hop on and off whenever you want to explore different places. The views from the top deck are fantastic, and the tour is a great way to get an overview of the city, especially if it’s your first visit. Overall, a fun and practical sightseeing experience. I would definitely recommend it!
This was a complete rip off. £39 for a day ticket (not 24 hours as in every other country in Europe and Australia). Recorded commentary was out of sync with the route and one of the drivers was extremely rude.
Great way to get an overall tour of London. Took the Blue bus option, which is longer than the Red. Got off once to check out the Tower of London, so overall was almost a half day in the city.
Never got the tickets. I called and they said they sent it. I was staying at a hotel in London and the tickets never came to my email.
This buss ride was very good only let down was how expensive it was but that’s what u get when your in London. Also I think it’s great how u get a free river cruise. You see allot on these hop off hop on tours too really worth it. Overall great experience but your paying quite a bit but it’s for the experience
We planned one full day on the bus, to visit 4 sites. However, due constant traffic, only was able to complete 2 stops. I am not sure how this issue can be avoided.
It was a very rainy day and the upper deck could not be used so we had to stand up. This eliminated using the ear pieces to hear where we were or what we were seeing. We stood for 45 minutes without any advantages of the bus. Bus should not run on rainy days. There were 5 of us friends on the bus and after about 45 minutes, we all got off and took other transportation to the sights we wanted to see.
Very bad experience yesterday. Aside from the actual rip off of the price - £35 each for Adults and only a £2 reduction for OAPs (which is a disgrace) we joined the bus at St Pauls when it was a red route and around Victoria, the driver got off, someone else got on and then a little while later, we found that the bus had changed to a Blue route. As we had lunch back in Covent Garden at 2 pm and the Bus had reached Knightsbridge any 1.45pm, we had to get a cab back into the West End (another £25). The driver insisted that it has always been a blue route which was an outright lie. No message was given over the tannoy when the driver changed at Victoria to say that the route had changed from red to blue. I thought that the service in Rome was bad, but London was worse. Rip off Britain and more particularly, rip off and bad service London. Why tourists come to London is beyond me.
A good experience no issues at all. You can use your pass at any location and it was good for all day.
A Great way to see london over two days including the river cruise . The pre recorded commentary was very very useful . Convenient , safe and reasonably priced .
Great experience and seeing London. We stayed on due to the rain and the traffic was horrendous. But got to see most stuff.
Since we were only in London for 2 days, it was a great way to see the sights. We had quite a rainy day and were still able to enjoy the sights
It’s a wonderful introduction for jet lagged people who just arrived and want to sit and have a good overview of London.
Riding this hop-on hop off bus. The entire duration gives you an idea of what you want to see as you travel around the city. You can hop off and hop on at any time with your daily ticket. We loved it.
We did a Big Bus tour of London with our London Pass in October 2026. We were hesitant because we have never done these tours, but it turned out to be a perfect fit for us. We did an extensive amount of walking on this trip, so riding the bus between stops was so helpful in both seeing the sites from an open-air bus and also saving our feet. The employees were all very friendly. They provided free headphones to plug into the tour audio. It was nicely done, and I enjoyed learning about the history as we drove through the city. There is abundance of stops in many areas of town. It really allowed us to maximize our limited time to check many attractions off our list. One caveat is that the buses can only go as fast as the traffic allows. In the Regent area, the traffic was substantial. This didn’t bother us, but it can be hard to plan any reservations for attractions because you don’t know how long it will take to get from point A to point B. Also, make sure to check the hours of service. Overall, we highly recommend this option during the fall season.
Buses crowded, long wait, recording (you have to have earbuds in the whole time) instead of actual guide talking, many sites not mentioned, drivers not friendly - a couple were rude, worst on/off bus experience we’ve ever had. Choose another.
Lovely experience. Got to see London ina manner I thought was not possible. I hopped on a d hopped off. Albeit weather prevented me from the River Cruise, I would book again.
We traveled on the Big Bus London on 10/18 and 10/19. We got to the bus and asked the driver for tickets. He directed us to a woman inside the bus wearing a Big Bus uniform and we purchased our tickets from her. A little while later, there was a driver change and someone came around to do a ticket check. Our tickets didnt scan but that person said no problem and moved on. The next morning we went to jump on a bus at Marble Arch and the employee there proceeded to interrogate us about our tickets, accusing us of buying them from some kiosk, making derogatory comments about Asians, and being incredibly rude and condescending. He kept talking about Asians and scams. Very racist so if you are Asian beware. We purchased our tickets from an employee as directed by the driver and didnt deserve the treatment we received from that employee who treated us like we had done something wrong. Finally he gave us new tickets and we proceeded on our way but we all walked away feeling angry about the situation. If you have a problem with third party vendors, that's YOUR problem, we shouldn't be treated like criminals. On the bus, very little commentary, mostly music, not a lot of value for the money. We would have been better off on the Tube. I would never do this again, nor would I ever recommend. You waste so much time in traffic with silly commentary that doesn't align with what you see and missed 80% of what you're seeing. You're better off to make your own itinerary and take the Tube. Complete and total waste of time, made worse by the entire ticket debacle. Never ever again.
Steve did a great job on the night tour. He was funny, gave great information and pointed out things we never would have seen if it was just an audio recording. Plus, when we got stuck in unexpected traffic he told us interesting things where we were and gave pointers on what to do with the remainder of our trip. Highly recommend Steve. I wish I could do a day tour with him as the guide.
We purchased a 48hour essentials ticket. We got on the bus and purchased a ticket directly on the bus. We spent the afternoon riding around the city. Westminster bridge was closed so there was a lot of detours - so we had a lot of dead air on the speaker. This was disappointing as we were driving past points of interest with no guide to say what it was. We ended up using our map program. During the ride, one of the big bus staff came up to check out tickets. He said there was an issue with ours but then said we were fine. The next day we tried to board the bus and the staff said our tickets were wrong. Then accused us of buying from some one on the street. When he finally understood that we purchased on the bus he kept going on about the “Asians” doing things wrong. He had to call his supervisor to get new tickets for us. The whole situation was uncomfortable and frustrating. Ticket sellers apparently work off commission. I wish we had just purchased our tickets online so we knew what we were getting. There is a lot of music or dead air on the routes which I don’t think is good when you’re paying for a tour. There were also many times when the guide was talking and we were already past that point. traffic is brutal and you spent a lot of time stopped. i really wouldn’t recommend this tour. We should have saved our £’s and used the bus and metro.
Was really looking forward to this tour but was disappointed for many reasons. When we boarded, the driver didn’t even tell us where to pickup the map and earphones. After the first hop off, the bus never arrived to hop back on because they changed the route with no website or text notifications. The wait for the river cruise was very long. Overall, not even an average experience. Just glad we didn’t buy the 2-day pass
Convenience of getting around the cities of London and Westminster with a history lesson wrapped up in 1 experience..
Horrible experience. Couldn't find stop. Long wait times. Unfriendly bus drivers. Routes are all messed up. They make routes on the fly and not the advertised blue/red routes. Spend your money elsewhere.
Awesome tour! We saw all the important landmarks. The only drawback was the buses took too long to come back when you got off. Other than that, great experience.
Easy to book to access and a day filled with adventure and great food and drink
We were disappointed with the pick up service. The London Bridge stop was closed but this was not stated on the itinerary . Once on the bus it was fine. However when we got off and then tried to board again the bus did not show up at the stop. I feel I paid too much for what we got.
Those selling tickets should be out of the bus to allow for us that already have tickets to get on the bus.
We had a great day. A must do is get the headphones. You are given so much information. We booked the 24hr trip with the river cruise. The river cruise was fantastic. We had one of the crew tell us about what we were seeing on the trip. He was fantastic and funny. Very easy to use.
This was a fun and traditional way to see London, who wouldn't wanna ride the double decker! So fun
I never used the pass. Was going to use today and it’s not there. Thought had access for 24hrs once the pass was scanned.
Didn't realize the end time for the last bus and had to use alternate transportation. Also, a couple of the audio ports on one of the buses were completely broken.
This is a great option to see a lot of London in one tour. Love the hop on and hop off option to be able to stay longer at the sites we wanted. Also really like that there’s an app to follow where the various buses are to gauge your timing. And some stops are staffed which is super helpful.
A great way to see the sights! We had a one-day hop on and off tour imwith a river cruise included and managed to pack so much in to our one day in London. The audio guide has loads of great insight into the city (not to mention a great soundtrack to go with the tour) and hopping on and off couldn't be easier with the app, which ekts you see where the nearest stop is and live views of wait times. I've done Big Bus Tours before and they are still my favourite way to see the city.
I need to speak to a representative regarding my experience, which was non existent. We waited an hour and a half and the bus did not move the driver indicated the he was on a break and another driver was coming. He disappeared and returned 45 minutes later saying “the driver never came?” He said that he would be departing in another 20 minutes. Then why would you say another driver was coming. He then proceeds to tell us that another bus was coming to get us, which never showed.
Many stops were closed with significant traffic. Paid for 24hrs and ultimately only got to use it for half that.
A disappointing experience, from trying to find poorly marked stops to the onboard commentary which was almost non existent. Stops were not announced or were as we left them, and no information about the attractions at each stop. Route taken was not the one shown on the brochure for the red route meaning several stops were missed altogether. We seemed to go very slowly with most other buses overtaking us. We ended up getting off and walked faster. Very expensive for just a bus ride, would not recommend.
The bus has the right idea but the difficulty is the audio. You can hardly hear it andI have good hearing. It is only audio no official guide. The personnel on the bus were very helpful. The app did not help with the route You could follow your bus but the sites were not accurate. This is where petsonnel were very helpful. Lots of traffic so took longer. Lower your expectations. I did take this company bus in other cities and it was much better.
Hopefully this was a “one-off” experience. We arrived in London and had purchased passes for the bus. We found our way to a stop and waited over 30 minutes before giving up hope as the app indicated 14-20 minute wait times. After sending two messages to the provider and waiting several days with no response, here is where we are at. Hoping others have a more pleasant experience.
The Big Bus Tour was a disorganized, disappointing tour. The original driver didn’t seem to completely follow the tour route and many “highlights” were seen from both sides of the road as we seemed to traverse many streets from both sides. About an hour into the tour, the driver left the bus at a stop without explanation. A new driver eventually took over and we got off at the next stop.
Wonderful experience and learned a lot. Ted was a perfect driver and host!
Excellent, convenience, very happy to go thru Viator, will book with Viator again on comming trip...
Be prepared for the conditions on the upper deck. It’s windy and tree branches are brushed by the bus. Overall, the customers had a good time and the driver was very clear about our safety and explaining capacity to riders that could not get on.
Provides a great view of London. Covers a huge area with comfortable seating. We didn’t use the audio but lots of people were.
The commentary was very sparse and very little information. Our driver decided to pull off of the route and stranded the people on the bus and gave them the option to get on another bus, that was going a completely different direction than it was supposed to go. We had to get on the underground and pay to get back home. Extremely disappointed. Worst tour on our vacation.
Perfect way to see the sights and highlights of London. Informative. Easy on and off. Would recommend
Bus was good and easy to find. Wish that the buses ran longer during the day so that we could use it more
This is a great tour if you want a guided taxi service around London. One driver was super nice but he left and here the new driver comes with his sarcasm and rudeness when I asked about where to get off for my River cruise. They are not specific enough for me about the stops of where to get on and off. It’s like it depends on who you ask for where is the best stop from Heathrow to get on the bus. I finally find them and the the attendant posted at the station was like okay the bus will be here in 8 minutes. I literally went to use the bathroom and get something to drink and the bus was there and she had the nerve to say you got back right in time the bus was getting ready to leave. I’m like you were the one who said I had 8 minutes. They need a host or something because no one told me about the headphones. I had to figure it out and ask someone. Overall a great thorough tour of London if you have time. The convenience of getting on and off the bus. They really need to work on their customer service though.
