Did the Jack the Ripper tour last night and Dougall was fantastic. Super knowledgeable and had great banter with the group, but what really stuck with me was his approach to the whole thing. Instead of just hyping up the gore or the killer, he made a real point to focus on the women who were killed and who they actually were. Kept things interesting and funny at times without ever losing respect for the history. Easily one of the best walking tours I’ve done. Ask for Dougall if you can.
Barry really made us relive the story in every detail however gruesome it was, leaving on a cliff hanger at every scene. Great storyteller. Good pubs on route to get back to ;)

I took teenaged students on the tour at the end of a long week of physical work and a long day of walking. They were so engaged. Barry told the stories with such energy and detail that he had the students hanging in every detail. They were full of questions later and wanted to debrief the mystery.

Our guide Hadi is really helpful and informative. I learned so many new facts about the victims and also the history of white chapel during and since the time. I love how he included real social factors such as patriarchy at that time and painting the victims in a more humane way than most media portrayed them.

Fun and interesting tour in an area you probably wouldn't visit except for this tour. At night, in darkened alleys you get a real sense of the grisly details. There is much more to the story than I was aware and our guide Barry was the perfect person to tell it. Barry is more than a fact relaying guide, he is a storyteller. He is enthusiastic about telling the story, often leaving you hanging with questions then returning later to tie those questions with the theories of the murders together. I recommend this night tour and the captivating storyteller. If possible, request Barry as your guide.
