Our day with Andy was incredible. As a PhD in WW1 history he was able to provide us with insight and information we had never heard before. His delivery of information was immersive, insightful, and on occasion perfectly humorous. Andy was also incredible at the Churchill War rooms giving us what seemed like insider information throughout. I would highly recommend this tour to any history fans visiting London. Thank you, Andy!

The Churchill (or Cabinet) War Rooms housed the key tools and personnel of the British war administration between 1940 and 1945, under the leadership of Prime Minister Winston Churchill. Andrew is a TOP RATE tour guide. Really knows his stuff. We learned a lot from him about English military history.
We had an absolutely fantastic tour with Andy at the Imperial War Museum and Churchill War Rooms. He was incredibly knowledgeable, insightful, and engaging, and he made the entire experience feel very personal and individualized. At the Imperial War Museum, Andy added so much context to the exhibits and helped connect the artifacts and personal stories to the larger history of Britain during the World Wars. At the Churchill War Rooms, he pointed out fascinating details we easily would have missed, including how the underground Cabinet War Rooms, map rooms, and communications areas were used during World War II. Andy has a fantastic personality and is a wonderful storyteller. He provided great perspective without ever making the amount of history feel overwhelming. We learned so much and came away with a much deeper appreciation for Churchill, wartime London, and the people who lived through that period. This was one of the highlights of our time in London. If you enjoy history, especially World War II or Churchill, I highly recommend booking a tour with Andy!
Very informative and knowledgeable guide. We loved all the history knowledge the guide had and would recommend this tour
Andy our guide was extremely knowledgeable
Sheldon was incredibly knowledgeable and personable. He had lots of good background/stories to share before heading into the war rooms and was able to answer all of our follow-up questions. Despite the war rooms being crowded, Sheldon was able to make the tour feel intimate and personal. Meet up was very easy and well communicated 24 hours in advance. Great experience.
To say Andy was outstanding is not enough. He was knowledgeable, friendly, professional and exceptional. He answered our questions and made the tour personal. I would highly recommend him and would schedule another tour with him without hesitation.
Outstanding experience! Andy is an academic expert on WWI and WWII. He is an excellent teacher/tour guide, personable and clearly enjoys his work. He was able to adapt our tour to our group’s particular interests, We highly recommend!
This was a really worthwhile tour. The guide, Andy, was extremely knowledgeable, personable, and happy to answer any questions about WWI and WWII. The Churchill War Rooms part of the tour was very interesting and a definite highlight. The 3 hours passed very quickly, as there was so much to see at both of the sites.
Andy was a terrific guide - knowledgeable, humorous and good natured. One of the highlights of our London trip.
Our guide Sheldon was fantastic. Extremely knowledgeable. Sheldon kept us engaged the entire tour with information and interesting facts.
It was great getting detailed information from a person rather than a device. We really enjoyed Andy’s approach to explaining history.
It was my first visit to the Imperial War Museum and its Churchill War Rooms section. So I was looking for a thorough overview of the history behind this place, and our guide provided exactly that.
The tour guide, Andy was extremely knowledgeable and asked the group members for input on what they were mist interested in. He communicated beforehand to confirm time and meeting location and let us know what he was wearing.
If you can request a guide by all means request ANDY! Andy’s knowledge of the events leading up to and including WWI were extensive and very interesting. The tour was so much better than just arriving and wearing a headset.
Our guide Stephen was fabulous- very knowledgeable and friendly. We learned so much at a good pace, with ample time for questions and discussion
We had a great experience with Andy on this tour. Andy is very knowledgeable and passionate - we got so much more out of the museums with Andy than we would have haf we visited on our own.
Down in basements do can be a little closed in Well worth the visit and most enjoyable and instructive
It was one of the best air with tours we have experienced. Andy was amazing, he was y knowledgeable, interesting answer wed our questions.
We had a couple of guides who were kind enough to admit that this was their first tour as a newly formed partnership - they were excellent. They both have embarrassingly robust credentials, and so there is almost nothing you can ask for which they will not have an answer. However, they both did a wonderful job of "keeping it simple" and understandable - cramming three decades and two world wars of history into a 3 hour tour is no small task. Nicely done.
Andy and Sheldon were both absolutely fabulous guides. Given the massive volume of information accessible in the Imperial War Museum, Andy wisely spent a few minutes upfront asking which topics we most wanted to cover which helped focus our time in the museum. His deep knowledge of Britain's efforts, challenges, perspectives and experiences through both World Wars breathed life into the tour and made it extremely worthwhile. When we transited to the Churchill War Rooms tour, Sheldon took over and was equally outstanding. His passion for the setting, the historical nuances, the psyche and background of Mr. Churchill provided fantastic context and made the tour incredibly fascinating. These guys were both utterly fantastic and we wholeheartedly recommend them to our friends.
I toured both the imperial war museum, and Churchill cabinet rooms with Andy. He was wealth of knowledge. He has a PhD in World War I. He is eager to answer your questions. I do not hesitate to recommend him. I enjoyed our tour immensely.
