Ross was a brilliant guide, not only in the detail he went into but also how he told the ghostly tales. The trip was made special by the stunning and interesting locations we stopped at along the route, but to me the highlight was how interactive and informative the tour was.
Ross' knowledge of the City of London was inspiring. The walk and talk was educational and entertaining. The City of London has so much to offer. Will certainly be going back for another tour.
Had a lovely Halloween-y, ghost themed 90min tour, full of history, fun tales expertly-delivered, all in a short walking distance.
I joined the “Ghosts, Gore and Other Ghastly Stories” tour on 30th October, led by the brilliant Ross Hamilton. From the moment we met at St Paul’s Underground Station, Ross brought London’s history to life — from Roman Londinium and Boudica’s uprising to Saxon Lundenwic and the Danish invasions. At Paternoster Square, behind the magnificent St Paul’s Cathedral, we learned of gunpowder plots, executions, and the extraordinary efforts to save the Cathedral from destruction. Each stop revealed another gripping story. Ross was exceptional: knowledgeable, engaging, and passionate. His storytelling was vivid and perfectly paced, blending history with humour and intrigue. This tour is a must for anyone who loves history or simply wants to explore hidden corners of the City of London you’d never stumble upon otherwise. I’ll definitely be booking more of Ross’s tours.
A friend had recommended Ross, so we were keen to meet him. The tour was very informative and really rather funny too. The connection to vague memories for school history made it feel very interactive. It might just be us, but we were polarised g a history quiz with Ross. Huge recommendation. We will be doing g one of Ross’s other tours soon !
Our walking club had an amazing time on Ross's ghost walk! From start to finish he was engaging and knowledgable. Ross has a gift for storytelling, he bought the local legends and spooky tales to life with just the right mix of history and humour. He kept everyone involved, answering our questions and tailoring the stories to the group's interest. I can't recommend Ross highly enough. A wonderful guide who kept us all captivated with his stories. Looking forward to booking another one of his tours soon.
„Open House London“ Romans in London Walk. Good prepared, well guided, interesting walk. Ross even extended the walk with an extra place to visit and showed us the Roman Amphitheater in the Guildhall Gallery. Thank you Ross for your enthusiasm.
Fantastic walking tour, absolutely worth doing. Whether you live in London or you are visiting, you'll find it extremely interesting. Very informative and really well paced
Great tour of the city! Never realized there’s so much history hidden in plain sight. Love the Star Wars filming location find!
This was an excellent tour! Ross has a fantastic talent for humorous storytelling and is a wealth of interesting facts and trivia. Starting at Bank, the tour took us through many fascinating sites and hidden corners of the city, culminating in a captivating walk past Newgate Prison where we were told the story of St. Bartholomew’s body-snatchers. True to its name, the tour was filled with gruesome and chilling tales that kept us hooked from start to finish.
We did a Roman London tour, and it was great fun. We definitely learned a lot. The stop at the temple of Mithras was especially cool. Thanks!
We had a great time touring parts of London, and hearing fascinating stories. Ross has a knack for story telling, and creating an atmosphere, while still making you laugh, which was very needed on a tour about 'Ghosts, Gore & Other Ghastly Stories!' It was clear every stop on the tour was very thought out, meaning you travelled through the stories being told, linking different locations and characters, really rounding out the experience. The stories themselves weren't too cheesy, they focused on the actual history of the spots, which made them all the more scary. We also came away with some great 'did you know' facts to appear intelligent to people we meet Thanks again Ross, we will definitely be booking another tour soon!
Fabulous Halloween tour of the City of London with Ross . Great background to the history but combining it with Halloween themes, Ross made it informative and entertaining. It was great to see some things you would not normally notice on a stroll around the city !
Ross was an excellent tour guide and we had a great time on his “Ghosts, Gore & Other Ghastly Stories” Halloween tour! His knowledge of the area and its spooky past was amazing and Ross was able to bring this to life in an engaging and entertaining way. Would highly recommend Ross’ tour!
Great tour! Ross is very knowledgeable about all things City of London and made it fun (and also a bit gruesome for Halloween night) to boot. A very enjoyable evening, thanks.
I really enjoyed the Halloween walking tour, learned a lot about the history of London and the hidden meanings behind certain places/streets. We started at St Paul's and ended at around Farringdon. I'd recommend going next year if you like spooky things!
A very informative Great Fire of London walking tour. At a good pace, with frequent stops. Ross had a clear voice and was ready to answer any questions, so has obviously researched the topic well. Coincided with the London 10km vitality run, but Ross found a way to keep to the planned walk, using the underground subway! Would recommend to tourists and Londoners alike.
A fantastic tour with Ross today - very knowledgeable about the sights, had interesting stories and a great presence. We had a lovely time finding out all about the Great Fire of London. Would definitely recommend Ross’ tours for families and friends.
