This was one of the highlights of our trip to London! The length of the tour was perfect at three hours, which gave us plenty of time to explore the East End, learn about the area, and sample an amazing variety of food without ever feeling rushed. Sam did an outstanding job curating the experience. It was clear that he had put a lot of thought and preparation into the tour, and his knowledge of East End history really brought the neighborhood to life. We learned so much, had many detailed observations that we would have missed on our own, and enjoyed some truly delicious food stops along the way. Beyond being incredibly knowledgeable, Sam was warm, engaging, and very pleasant to spend time with. The three hours flew by thanks to his enthusiasm and storytelling. As an added bonus, we even got a tap dancing lesson, which made the experience even more memorable! We highly recommend this tour. It was a great combination of history, culture, food, and entertainment. Thank you, Sam, for such a wonderful experience!

One of the East End's most famous streets. Brick Lane is the epi centre of London's south Asian community. Famous as the place to go for curries and other South Asian delicacies. The street has a fascinating past and is now home to London's hip and trendy. We'll explore the length of the street stopping at famous vendors as we go. There's always something going on here and you sometimes feel like you're part of a film. Full of local characters and amazing places to grab a bite.
At one time one of the largest breweries in the world and now home to a weekend market. Steeped in history and a centre point for many of the area's stories.
One of London's most famous and popular food markets. Quality local produce is used alongside ingredients from around the world. Nowhere is the melting pot of London more represented in food form.
Once a slum of London, Shoreditch is now the home of the hipster. Some of the best bars and restaurants are found here and it's an area full of history and constantly evolving culture.
Jack the Ripper's old hunting ground is a bit safer these days. We'll take a wander through the streets and learn about the stunning townhouses that line both sides. It's easy to feel like you're on the set of a Dickensian film.

George made it fun and was so knowledgeable about the area as he grew up there. He had a solid history of the neighborhood which added to the experience.
Our guide, Veronica, made the tour fun and interesting explaining the immigrant history of the area while providing samples of food from each region! It was a fulfilling 3 hours, from history to food! I recommend it highly!
What a wonderful experience! Our guide Erik was wonderful, very knowledgeable and friendly every stop was absolutely delicious with plenty of variety to get a good taste of East End. Highly recommended.
Absolutely brilliant tour, great variety and abundance of food. Our guide, Trevelyan was amazing, really brought the history to life.
Trevelyan is more than a food guide — he is also a historian, an architect and a writer. Each of these qualities made the tour even more engaging and interactive. He also has a great sense of humor, which makes him more personable. His knowledge extended beyond East End as he answered our questions that had little to do with the tour. The variety of food sampled was excellent, and to end the tour with a half-pint of London Black was the best way to finish. As a side note, another tour passed us, and we reflected on how a megaphone would be useful for future tours!
I booked this tour specifically to go to Beigal Bake on Brick Lane and was pleasantly surprised about how much I enjoyed the food at a couple of the other stops. Veronica was a great tour guide sharing her knowledge of the area and the time really flew by. This was a great food walking tour but just know you definitely need to come hungry! At the six stops, we had food tour tasting portions, but it was still a lot of food.
Fun way to explore the East End with great food. Beigel with salted beef, pickles and mustard was a highlight along with Spitalfields Market. The pork soup bao was so delicious!
Great mix of different cuisines, culture, and history. Great storyteller and historian. Very engaging and warm.
The tour was informative with plentiful delicious food and an engaging guide. Our older teenagers enjoyed it as did we.
Really fun and interesting walking tour of the Brick Lane and Spitalfields area of London’s East End in the fascinating company of Trevelyan. We tried delicious food from a host of backgrounds and learnt the history behind the area’s ever changing culinary offerings. Would highly recommend.
We absolutely loved the food tour with our guide Sophia. The food was amazing and learning about the history, culture and story of the east end was fab. We would highly recommend. Sophia was friendly, organised and gave good recommendations for future trips.
Great private tour!! Our guide Sophia was amazing. She customized the trip to focus on our dietary preferences and needs. Introduced us to many unique cultural foods … AMAZING foods!! Sophia provided a lot of historical facts and trivia - very interesting. Highly recommend.
Trevelyan was excellent. Very insighful, entertaining and certainly would recommend to anyone! Didn’t appreciate the cultural diversity of the area . Really enjoyed the food.
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the food tour with Sophia! She shared her knowledge and love of the east end with us during our time together. As promised, there was plenty of food and a wide variety. Thanks to Sophia's recommendation, we found ourselves at an incredible Georgian restaurant for dinner. I highly recommend this food tour!
Excellent experience it was so interesting hearing about the history of East London and tasting lots of different food. I really recommend it to anyone. A big shout out too for Trevalyn who was our tour guide and made it a fun experience.
We met our lovely knowledgeable guide Trevelyan on RedChurch st and we then ambled all around Shoreditch/ Whitechapel areaBricklane, Spitalfields, Fournier, Hanbury and Truman Brewery end learning the wild history of the East End, tasting wonderful food. It really was a great experience thanks to Trevelyan's knowledge! Thank you
This food tour was not just about the food but about a part of London with a rich and colourful history. Our excellent guide Trevelyan entertained us with tales of how the culinary delights of the East End developed through immigration and trade. We enjoyed a wide variety of food such as Turkish flatbread, chocolate and samosas. A fun and varied day out!
Erik took us on a great food tour of the East End today! I learned a lot of history and ate some delicious food. I will definitely go back to explore more in that area of town. Skip breakfast! You will be satisfyingly full at the end of the tour. I will definitely book another food tour with London Bites!
The tour was well structured and conducted at a pace where you did not feel rushed. I was able to take in the history, and the cultural influences. The sampling of different foods was excellent. I experienced a part of London I would not ordinarily have gone to. Our guide was superb. The other people on the tour were really good company as well. Overall a really enjoyable experience. One which I would recommend.
What an enjoyable tour! Our guide Trevelyan was very knowledgeable about the history of the area and the food. The food we tasted was varied and delicious. Can highly recommend this tour
Just had to drop a line or two. If you are 'thinking' of doing the food tour, JUST DO IT! Our guide Sophia, was truly amazing, kind, welcoming and knowledgable. Tour and the amazing guide come HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! What a great way to spend three hours in the East End!
Trevelyan was our guide and he was extremely knowledgeable about the east end of London.... the history both past and present is remarkable. The food venues we visited were delightful and the food, chocolate and beverages were deeee-licious! Would highly recommend. Noreen from Canada.
My daughter and I had a great time on the Borough Market Tour with Gary as our Guide. The food was fantastic and we really enjoyed all the historical information and trip along the river to see the Globe Theatre! Of course the food was fantastic and the highlight! We had lots of great options, and appreciated Gary acommmodating the pescatarian at the last minute! I especially enjoyed the sausage role from the Ginger Pig, and my daughter loved the Calamari! We highly recommend this tour!
Great food tour. Loved bot only all the food but our guide Trevelyan was fascinating will loads of history if the area would definitely do nother tour
Excellent food tour! We went on this back in January hoping to find out a bit more about the food and culture of the East End and Brick Lane. We had Trevellyan as our host and he was really informative and interesting showing that he knew the area really well and sharing stories and anecdotes. The food was excellent (especially the salt beef beigle) - too much for us to manage and we've got pretty healthy appetites, and rounded off with a lovely pint of porter at the end. A very enjoyable afternoon. Thanks Trevellyan!
Entertaining, informative and great choice of food. Just enough walking and kept it interesting despite the cold. Lots of historical details, a truly fascinating tour
Trevelyan, our tour guide, was excellent. He combined interesting knowledge of the area with humour and was sensitive to the fact it was a boiling hot day. Great variety of food, the tour brought the area alive - we learnt so much. Highly recommended.
Great tour with a great guide in Gary. Food was varied and excellent with a good insight of the local history from Gary. I have no hesitation in recommending this experience A+
Variety of food. We loved the stories and history out guide offered. He was so nice and friendly! Would encourage all visitors to try it.
This was an amazing experience. Sophia is a wonderful guide, mixing history with food. We had a wide range of different types of food and she made it interesting for my teenagers too. We were both tired and incredibly full by the end! Highly recommended.
Wonderful day celebrating our anniversary with a food tour around Shoreditch, extremely knowledgeable tour guide who gave us so much interesting information about the history of culture from the area and each stop had something delicious to eat and drink. Particularly enjoyed trying foods we wouldn't of normally, won't spoil for anyone wanting to book the tour, but our guide took the time to check about allergies and anything we couldn't eat or didn't like. The establishment owners were friendly and informative and clearly passionate about their produce. All in all time well spent enjoying delicious food and meandering around a vibrant and fascinating part of the city, well worth it! Thank you Trevellion and London Food Tours!
Tom was our guide for the food tour and he was amazing. The food places were great and his knowledge of the history and surrounding areas was very interesting. I would 100% recommend this tour to anyone! The best one we’ve done.
Our travel agent, KLTA Travel, has curated amazing tours for us all over the world. Karen booked us the “Eat the East End“ food tour in London. My family just finished a terrific 3+ hour walking food tour with our guide, Sofia, highlighting the multinational culture, history, and, of course, foods in the East End. Both Sofia’s food choices and her knowledge of the histories and cultures of the East End were fantastic! We had an intimate tour group of my family and an Australian (who was on a one-year global retirement tour). Our new Australian “mate” made our experience on the food tour even better. Highly recommend Sofia and the Eat the East End walking food tour! Only two words of caution: pace yourself with the food and wear stretchy pants. You’re gonna be stuffed!
Tom our tour guide was very professional and very knowledgeable about the area with tons of fun information about the area. Great food tastings in lots of different places. Had great bagels, really unique chocolate, a great mango drink and a good bit more. So much food :) They even gave us a bottle of water to start out which was great. James the owner even came along for quality assurance since Tom was new. You never would have known it was Tom’s first ‘solo’ tour as he did a really terrific job. Super happy with this food tour and would highly recommend this tour group for any food tours in London!
We had a fantastic time with Sophia. She was so sweet, the food was amazing, and she shared so many interesting stories about the food and the area. Highly recommend!
Food always brings happiness! Well, imagine what good food brings to you! Sofia knows where to take you for good food. She is amazing and very kind and makes the experience so pleasant😊
Fabulous food tour around Brick Lane/Shoreditch area. Sophia was a great guide - friendly, patient, welcoming and knowledgeable. The food choices were diverse and delicious. You definitely won’t go hungry on this food tour. Highly recommend.
Great Tour, great (and lots of) food. Very informative and tasty. Really small group of just 3 people, we were able to have a nice chat and learn a lot. Like going for a walk with a (very well informed, intelligent and funny) friend. We passed another food group tour with many people and it seemed stressful and hectic... not like our tour, which i can only recommend as the perfect experience! We even took home some food because we could not possibly eat it all (and we are good eaters).
Small friendly group which made the whole experience very enjoyable. Excellent, knowledgeable tour guide and good range of delicious food to try. Would definitely recommend this one! Ann
The best guide in the world! Nice intelligent funny and the food was excellent ! She also told us much about the area Than you Susan for the east food tour Annelie
Lovely experience with lovely Susan! The tour was informative and the food was absolutely delicious! Definitely recommend if you'd like to try the real taste of London!
Food Tour doesn't do it justice. So much history of the area together with such a varied range of food to sample makes this a great tour. Susan our tour guide was very helpful, friendly, and engaging. I would say pace yourself because there is a lot of food on offer. A well-designed tour with both savoury and sweet foods. Would definitely recommend
Absolutely loved this food tour! I have been on many food tours and this was definitely the best bang for your buck. I showed up late because of transportation issues and Sofia the tour guide was very understanding and accommodating. After the tour ended she took me back to the spots I missed. You learn a lot about the history of east London and get to try a delicious mix of sweet savory foods as well as beverages! Would 10/10 recommend this tour to friends.
The tour was excellent, our guide was brill (completely forgot her name though, Sorry!) She was very knowledgeable on the area and in general. She provide interesting snippets of info and was able to answer lots of additional question. The tour itself was more that I expected, there was lots of food offered, not one bad dish. Really enjoyed this. Thank you.
Our guide Sofia was really friendly and passionate about the area. It felt like a tour with a very knowledgeable friend. All the places we stopped by for a bite were wonderful, with a special mention for the chocolate place. Beautiful and delicious! Highly recommended!
A really varied food experience within Brick Lane and the Spitalfields area. Lots of interesting historical information that linked in with the food we tried. We were really full by the end of the tour and were able to have a few nibbles to take home with us as couldn't eat it all!
Was a fabulous tour well recommended.Perfect insite into the area of Shoreditch and Brick Lane. The different types of cuisine we explored was excellent and the tour guide was spot on. You have to try this especially if you live or get to visit London it was worth every penny.Even the weather didnt dampen the experience..Excellent allround tour.
