We had a fantastic experience with Gourmaze as a family! We love treasure hunts, so this was right up our street. What made it particularly special were the little treats at each checkpoint, which was such a thoughtful and unique touch and really added to the experience. It was a brilliant way to spend our weekend in London together as a family, with plenty of fun along the way. Everything made for a really enjoyable experience, and we would highly recommend Gourmaze to anyone looking for something a little different to do. We would definitely do it again!

My husband and I enjoyed every minute of it. We chose The Taco Trade route. Would recommend 10/10
The tour was bought as a gift for 2 (couple) so not sure how much it cost but we took our adult daughters and paid for extra desserts for them, which worked well. We answered all but one of the clues and had a laugh doing it. We also saw some lovely bits of London that we wouldn't normally have visited
Really great fun - excellently themed walking tour. Took me to corners of London I hadn't been to before and was a real highlight of the weekend.
Gourmaze is a play on the word Gourmet however nothing we ate on the Sweet Escape was really that special or unique. The first offering was a small pre-packed airline style tiramisu. The second was one of those free sample type paper thimbles of hot chocolate. We made it clear we were on the Gourmaze tour but I’m not sure if the staff knew what we were talking about. Finally something that was actually OK was a choice of 2 scoops of ice cream. If you expect to experience something handmade or artisan then you will be sorely disappointed. For £32 per person this experience is not value for money. Save your money and just walk round London and you’ll find better places and eat much nicer things.
Such a fun day out! Really good clues/riddles and tasty treats along the way.
We did the sweet trail and it was so much fun. It was easy to follow the guide and we had fun solving the puzzles. Would recommend to anybody looking to have fun in London slightly different way. The only tricky part is that at height of the season, paying customers take precedence so there may not be a place to sit at some of the locations but we were lucky enough to be allowed to sit down for 5 mins to have one of our treats.
I got the dessert tour as a gift for my partner for us to do on his birthday. I purchased the voucher through buyagift which made booking in the date and time a little more complex. Once you book in, there’s an email which confirms and has a large button saying “Launch your maze on Whatsapp” - do NOT click it until the day and time of your event. It does say it underneath but if you’re anything like me, you’ll see a button and click it. The meeting point is a pub which is actually a different name to what it says on the email (should be the Museum Tavern but has been changed to The Beer Tapestry temporarily which caused huge confusion!). The directions given can be confusing but enjoyable, the first stop was really surprising! It would have been nice to have been taken to some more hidden places hidden around the city between locations - I know it’s a food tour but there’s so many hidden places in the city! It would have been good to have some bigger gaps between food. As others have said, the second place has a very very small serving. It’s rich so it works but just prepare yourself! We really did enjoy the experience. As a fussy eater with a sweet tooth, there were options for me to have which worked well for us! I’d love to do one of the other ones but I’m scared my fussiness would get in the way 😬
Great experience some clues are a tiny bit vague but still lovely time spent. The desserts are peak and the service is lovely
We had a great time! We found the meeting point (even though it changed its name) and started the game! Clues came by WhatsApp with lots of puns! We found the food outlets quite easily . I won’t say where or what they were! Would definitely recommend!
Really fun way of exploring parts of London you might miss. The clue system by message worked brilliantly and I loved that even the directions were clues. It was an entertaining way of guiding you through a 'treasure trail' and was a mix of harder and easier clues. All of the desserts were fantastic quality and reasonable portions but we didn't end up feeling too full of sugar. I'm already looking at buying others as presents.
Great afternoon out with my daughter, we both love a dessert!!! Very good selection and had fun solving the puzzles! We will definitely be booking another Gourmaze adventure!
Great support when organising. Great communication. Experience was great. Fun clues, not too long or too short an experience. Desserts were a good size and a lovely variety. Had this as a birthday present and would highly recommend.
We really enjoyed this tour. The questions were challenging but fun. Desserts were delicious too!
What a fun filled maze.Took us to many fascinating streets, we enjoyed a lot. Definitely will try this again. Highly recommended!
Great experience that was a way for us to see parts of London we had never ventured to before. The treats were delicious and clues were good and made you think.
It was good fun, easy enough to follow without being too easy, the deserts were lovely, and got to see parts of London I don't usually visit.
We had a very enjoyable afternoon, we enjoyed the clues, one needed updating as it was no longer there! The last treat was very welcome
We did the Gourmaze sweet treat yesterday, easy link through wassapp to access the clues. Great fun following the directions and solving the riddles to get our reward of a lovely sweet treat ! Highly recommend if you don't mind walking around London.
I decided to do the gourmaze as o was in London and had some time to kill. I really enjoyed the format, found the puzzles easy to solve(just read them carefully) and the directions easy to follow except for one bit, but worked it out using the next part. The food at the first and third stop was super tasty and good portion. The second stop let it down a bit. I would definitely do another of these if down in London.
The Gourmaze experience was so fun! I did it with a group of friends and we really enjoyed walking around London seeing things in a different light while trying to make sense of the clues. The clues weren’t too tricky and were satisfying when you got them. So we didn’t get frustrated or lost. The desserts were all delicious and it was a good variety of things too. The staff at the different locations were also so sweet. We had an added complication of me being a coeliac but there were always options for me and staff took the cross contamination risk seriously. We will definitely be booking more mazes as it was a lovely afternoon out!
I was gifted this experience as a present so booked with a friend, we both enjoyed the day, we took our time so was in no rush to beat a clock, so this is perfect as you can when you stop for the desserts (all 3 was very nice and we enjoyed all them) as the timer stops so gives you time to also stop have a drink look around etc…. Then when your ready continue etc… obviously wear comfortable shoes
Did this on father's day with the family, we have done a few similar things like this with Treasure Trails, but without deserts, so thought this would be fun, at £35 each we had high hopes. Unfortunately they did not live up to those hopes, the 3 deserts we got were "ok", the Gelato was the only one worth a note, we got a chocolate drink that was basically a mouthful. To be honest, I won't be doing this again, if I wanted to do something like this I'd book a trail with treasure trails that cost £9.99/12.99 and use the £130 odd I've saved to buy my own deserts for the family.
The experience was great, it was just the right amount of difficult that we managed without any clues. Loved all the humour too. All desserts were amazing. There was just the 2 of us but we took probably longer than most teams as I am not that physically able. It took us 3 hrs 8 mins and the 3 stops were really appreciated, especially as the timer paused at each stop. I will definitely be using this company again and look forward to trying a different hunt.
Good fun exploring pockets of London- well thought out clues and some great desserts to be had.
Did this with my partner for her birthday. It took us about three hours going at a leisurely pace. Really lovely day and very good fun. Clues are semi-difficult, not overly challenging but still need to pause to think about them a little. I'd expect this to be fun for a whole family as well to get kids involved in the clues. Follows a good route through the city and they partner with smaller independent food places. Everyone we interacted to was friendly and helpful. Three desserts across three hours with about 6 clues per dessert. Feels like pretty decent value for money. Good portion sizes and a few spots along the way for additional bits - e.g. recommended a pub at the start and the half way point for a refreshment.
Its alright. The first vendor was really kind and helped the immersion and the fun. Sadly the second one (the chocolate one) knew nothing about it and it was really uncomfy trying to explain what we meant specially after trying to speak to her in Italian (part of the game), we had to ask another person in the store and they gave us our chocolate, but even after we felt she continue to stare at us with a judgey look the entire time we were there. Even so we liked the overall experience and the flavour of the desserts, except the chocolate that was more like syrup and in a tiny cup. I like that some clues were just another ways to call the places you pass by and you can miss a few ones and still be right at the end if you get the last reference/name-change even so we got lost for a few minutes. The treasure hunt consists mainly of location clues and questions you need to answer based on the place you are at and what you see, the latter were my favorites but its understandable there are less of these ones, I just wish you could specify what type of clue you want i.e. you need help solving the question or because you think you are lost. In my opinion the experience will improve if all the vendors at the stores are informed beforehand.
Really enjoyed the treasure hunt. The desserts were lovely and we went round parts of London all three of us have not seen before. The clues were challenging but not really hard. Highly recommend
What a SWEET treasure hunt. We wandered around searching for our treasure trove of sweet treats. A birthday dessert tour for our adult son with lots of laughter. We had lots of fun exploring and eating whilst deciphering clues. So professional! We did the Taco food hunt a couple of years ago and it was great too.
The Sweet Escape with Gourmaze was a lot of fun, great organisation and super simple set up. The clues and riddles were the right level of difficulty and each of the sweet treats along the way were perfect. Of course you should be aware of your surroundings in London but we got to explore side streets and back alleys - which was super fun! We’ll definitely be recommending and doing another ‘maze’ soon.
Several clues to decipher, with three leading to sweet treats. All pitched at right level so you felt some satisfaction working it out, but not so hard that you got discouraged. Treats were absolutely excellent and trail took us round bits of London we had never seen before. Walked nearly eight miles in total! Organisation was very simple to follow using WhatsApp. A lovely day and a great activity - would definitely do again!
Amazing day out, yummy desserts in places we’ve been wanting to visit! The clues were fun and got you thinking but easy enough to get to the next dessert place in good time! We loved it and can’t wait to book our next maze!
Had a fun time on the 'Sweet Escape' which had an interesting trial of solving clues, earning three desserts along the way
We recently went on the dessert maze tour and had a great time. It was wonderful seeing parts of London I hadn’t seen before and trying new food places. I would give this 5* but I think there should be a few more food stops- 3 dessert stops for the time and distance covered doesn’t seem enough. The food was DELICIOUS, I just wanted more. Also, it might be nice to be able to pause the game at your own pace as it was a shame we walked past so many shops/ pubs but couldn’t go into them for fear of adding to our time. Having said this, I would do another one! Great experience.
I highly recommend the Sweet Escape. The three desserts were all quite different, a good portion and most importantly tasted fantastic. My sister and I (in our 60s) had such fun working out the clues which mainly didn’t need too much head scratching, and it was fascinating to see and read the history of parts of London that other tours don’t reach. All in all a really enjoyable afternoon (took us an hour and a half, not including the food stops). Great value.
We thoroughly enjoyed the Gourmaze. The clues were received via What’s App messages on my mobile . We followed hints to where we needed to walk and then there were visual questions where we needed to find something and input the answer into the phone. Each time, there was a prompt Whats App reply with the next set of instructions . There were 3 venue stops where we were given delicious deserts. A great reward for our efforts. We would recommend Gourmaze to anyone who wants to spend a few fun hours outdoors.
We did the pudding tour as a team of adult siblings / cousins with the younger generation in tow (ages 7 to 15). The whatsapp worked perfectly and the clues were just challenging enough for the kids. The food was fantastic and generous. A great way to spend a Sunday afternoon.
A really good, fun experience. Some of the trails seem expensive, but the cost of the food included is often more than 1/2 the cost of the activity. The Desserts trail was great - even though it was pouring with rain on the day! We would highly recommend them.
We had a great time doing the Sweet Treats Gourmaze, amazing food along the way and some clues really made us think. I would highly recommend
Great way to explore London. All the food and treats were amazing. BEST I've tasted. Highly recommend. We will be back to try the other games. Very well organised and really enjoyable experience.
Such a good laugh and fun way to explore, great clues and lovely spots to visit - did the dessert maze & was delicious! Even with the mania of pride parade to interact with, such a good day
This was a lot of fun! We did the sweet treat challenge. It was the right level of challenge, and very cleverly done. We laughed a lot and really enjoyed exploring london in this way. The only thing I would say is that there are so many incredible desserts in that part of London that it would be good to have had better quality desserts.
Really fun experience, easy to follow and really tasty food, we did the sweet treats one and will definitely return to the vendors. Nice way to walk around London and have fun at the same time. Would definitely recommend.
