Ben was incredible!!! He took his time explained everything, answered all our questions. We so enjoyed him sharing his knowledge abott Churchill War Room and the area.
Our experience walking from Westminster Abbey to the Churchill War Rooms was truly wonderful—an inspiring journey steeped in history, architecture, and the spirit of resilience. The stroll took us past the magnificent Westminster Abbey, the renowned Westminster Abbey Choir School, and the illustrious Westminster School, famous for its academic prestige. As we continued, we saw the historic door where the king’s representative knocks to mark the opening of Parliament, and we admired the grand Palace of Westminster, the iconic Elizabeth Tower, and heard the legendary chimes of Big Ben. At the Churchill War Rooms, we were immersed in the underground nerve center where Winston Churchill and his inner circle orchestrated Britain’s World War II efforts. Decisions here required cooperation among the chiefs of the Army, Navy, Royal Air Force, and government—every major troop movement and strategic step was vigorously debated before consensus was reached. Churchill was keen on surrounding himself with a trusted team, encouraging both candid debate and swift decisions. It was in these very rooms that he galvanized his advisers, taking calculated risks that shaped the momentum and ultimate victory of the Allied cause. Walking this route, from the storied stone of Westminster Abbey to the preserved command centers below ground, offered a rare glimpse into both the ceremonial and strategic heart of London. The visible legacy of Britain’s monarchy and parliamentary tradition was matched by the palpable sense of urgency and determination that still echoes in Churchill’s war bunker. For history enthusiasts, this walk offers a moving celebration of leadership, tradition, and the enduring spirit of London.
Recommend with highest honors!!! Exceptional experience with as much historical, interesting fact as one could absorb in 3 hours!!! David is the best!!!
Our guide Dave was wonderful. The War rooms are so much more extensive than we thought. The exhibits were fascinating and well done. So much original preserved items. It really informs the visitor of the resolve of British leadership and citizens who banded together to defeat the Nazis. You will be transported to the WWII time period and witness human ingenuity in the days before AI and high tech. Tour started at Westminster Abbey, past Parliament, 10 Downing and then on to War Rooms for a timed visit. Fascinating!
It is expensive to have a one to one private tour - but in my case, it was worth it. Lawrence, my tour guide, was very helpful to me since I use a walker.
Gavin S was an amazing tour guide! The tour felt very personalized with stories about local landmarks and stories he had inherited from his family relating to the history of the area. Over all Gavin was one of, if not the best, tour guides I've ever had! Love you Gavin!
Wonderful experience. Very knowledgeable. An amazing place. We really enjoyed the background and walk
I booked this tour for 10:00 am when I first booked. I then realized that I needed to move it to 9 am as to be able to do another tour in the afternoon. I was accommodated by the tour company. But, all my reminders came through by Viator for the original time of 10:00. I had booked 6 tours through Viator so I forgot the change I made. The tour company called me on the morning of the tour telling me we were late. Our guide Kevin very graciously agreed to wait for us since we were on a private tour with him. Kevin was amazing! We learned so much about Churchill's time just before the war. He made him real for us! Kevin even walked us to our next tour destination. A real gentleman!
Keith was a wonderful guide! Very knowledgeable! I would highly recommend the Churchill war room museum and bunker experience!!
Dave was a very knowledgeable and pleasant guide. My husband loves history. I’m so glad I booked this tour!
Robert was a fabulous guide. Super knowledgeable, obviously he enjoys his job, friendly and caring. Would recommend him 5 star guide!!! My husband and I had the most wonderful experience .
Kim was one of the best tour guides I’ve had. And I’ve traveled everywhere. Amazing historical and local knowledge.
The Churchill war rooms were so interesting. Spent three hours there. Our tour guide was so acomadmating. She was 👍
My wife and I enjoyed the tour very much. The tour guide was excellent and knowledgeable. When we had questions, she had answers. Great experience.
David was enthusiastic, easy to speak to and incredibly knowledgeable. It was like walking thru the rooms with a friend who happened also to have encyclopedic detail and the inside scoop. He also had an instant rapport with the kids. Strongly recommended.
Not worth it. There was no need in purchasing this expensive tour when you can do the same and better with the audio guide. Our guide did a “fast track” tour of the War Rooms and we really wanted to experience everything.
Stephen was very knowledgeable. He was also flexible to our schedule. This is a great experience for families with school aged children .
Seeing the actual bunker. Narration very good. I liked the guns owned by Churchill. 1911 Colt and Webley revolver.
