Robert was fantastic! A wealth of knowledge and you can tell he loves sharing it with others. I highly recommend and would absolutely do another tour with him.
Robert arrived early to allow us to get in first thing and had an in-depth knowledge of the artifacts in the museum. He also had a great way with my jet- lagged 9 year old. We were able to cover a lot more ground than we ever could have otherwise and learn aa ton. We really appreciate our tour and Robert!
A nonstop and thoroughly interesting tour of the British Museum. Robert is confident, knowledgeable and genuine lover of the history of artifacts. You can make it even better if you can state some interests to Robert and further explore them. People would eavesdrop because of his imaginative commentary. Enjoy.
The British museum is one of the best in the world but navigating it is an unbelievable challenge due to its vastness. My wife and I did not want to waste a lot of time figuring out where to go or what to see. After reading the reviews here about this tour and its guide Robert Miller, I knew he was the guide for us. And that’s an understatement. Robert is extremely knowledgeable with an encyclopedic memory, charming, and caring. In my 70 years, he is the best guide we have ever hired. If I ever return to London, I will figure out which tour he is leading and book it (well in advance!).
Robert is an incredible tour guide. Extremely knowledgeable with an easy delivery. Will definitely book more tours with him upon our next visit to London.
If you are going to the British Museum especially with children it is money well spent to hire a guide. Robert secured our place in line so we were among the first to enter. He knew all the best spot to observe certain exhibits and was full of knowledge and stories. I would definitely employ his services for a different museum next time I visit London
Guided tour is the only way to get the most out of a 1-day visit. Robert has deep knowledge of the exhibits, took me efficiently to the most significant exhibits and answered every question.
Our guide, Robert, was most informative & entertaining. This was a great intro to a vast collection.
Robert was an incredible tour guide! HIs depth of knowledge was amazing and the subject matter he covered was fascinating. I would highly recommend this tour to everyone.
I have been to British Museum mony time before, but this time with private guided was absulty defent, it is impotrtant to be with guide.
We had a wonderful experience with our guide Robert! He was knowledgeable, engaging and understanding when we were running late to meet him. He is also a guide for other museums so the tour was so insightful and full of historical tidbits you wouldn't otherwise have learned (great at answering follow-up questions). Would absolutely recommend this tour!
Our guide Robert shared his expertise and passion for the incredible exhibits that brought history to life!
I have been the museum several times but having a private guide was absolutely the best. Robert was a delight all morning and he was great at reaching out beforehand to ensure no snags in the itinerary. He was so insightful and just a pleasure to spend time with. If you are going to go to the museum don’t miss this tour.
Robert provided a fantastic tour. Based on other reviews, I rearranged our itinerary to book with him and we were not disappointed. He provided clear communication on where to meet him to avoid the long security line. He prepped us beforehand that we were going to go straight to the Rosetta Stone to avoid the crowds. As a result, we were able to get right up close while Robert told us the history. He then took us through the other highlights of the museum based on our interests. He was incredibly knowledgeable and kept us engaged throughout the entire 3-hour tour. Robert is a fantastic storyteller and I would definitely book with him again.
Best tour ever. Informative and super interesting. Would recommend to all. Can't wait to return and have Robert guides us through other museums.
My husband and I were guided by Robert Miller through the British Museum on a three hour private tour. There are countless reasons why a private guided tour are important if this is your first visit to the British Museum. If possible, book with Robert. Robert is an art dealer, has been involved in the art world for many years and is a long time member of the British Museum. To say the museum is large / gigantic is an understatement. There is far too much to see and it is quite crowded. So, a guide for your first visit is important to not only maximize your time so you see quite a few of the major pieces, but also to help you learn how to approach a piece and look at it. Richard also helped us appreciate the architecture of the building and the various galleries. Richard will tailor the tour to your interests. He helps to navigate the entrance into the museum. This is a main tourist attraction so when it opens in the morning there is a crush of people. Bear in mind, it only gets busier as the day grows so we recommend being there in advance of opening hours waiting in line with Richard. I cannot imagine navigating through the museum as a first time visitor without a guide. But given the education and information we received from Richard, we are now prepared to hopefully return to the museum on our own and experience more. A last bit of information about Richard, if you plan to visit other museums during your visit to London let him know. We received good tips on pieces of art to ensure we saw while at another museum.
It made for a very informative and enjoyable visir to go with a very knowledgeable guide who truly knows the museum.
Robert was an excellent guide, who impressed us with his knowledge and familiarity with the wonders of the British Museum! He bought the objects to life giving us a perspective which we would not have had otherwise. I cannot recommend Robert more highly! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Robert was incredible. He was so knowledgeable and lovely. His stories were captivating. I can’t recommend him enough!
Outstanding experience despite the heat and huge crowds. Robert is very knowledgeable and clearly knows his way around the museum. He kept us (family of 5, 3 teenagers) engaged for 3 hours and we learned so much. I can’t imagine visiting the British museum again and not doing a guided tour.
Experience was great and the museum being so big, the guide was able to avoid most of the crowds and show us the major items on display and what we were interested in especially the things my grandson wanted to see. Richard did a great job of directing us through the museum and providing excellent information on what we saw. Without him and just a map we would never been able to cover so much in 3 hours. Would highly recommend this tour for a first and maybe only visit to the museum. Through his knowledge we got into the museum very quickly and avoided the long lines.
Tours guide was knowledgeable and helpful throughout the day. Thank you for the time and explanations.
Robert was extremely knowledgeable and guided us through the museum quickly but used every minute to share exciting details about pieces we would have otherwise overlooked. Would highly recommend this tour for a family. My children (13, 11, & 9) really enjoyed it.
I wouldn't hesitate to book this tour of the British Museum with Robert. It was one of the highlights of our stay in London. He is enthusiastic and knowledgeable. We learned so much more than if we had just toured the museum ourselves.
Robert did an exceptional job in showing us around the British Museum. He was a wealth of knowledge and we learned a lot. We would not have known a lot of the history if he had not explained it to us. You could tell he was enthusiastic about history. The museum is so large that we would have walked around aimlessly if we had not had him as our guide. I would definitely recommend Robert for a tour of the British Museum.
Wow. I did not expect such a dynamic, stress free experience. From the very first contact our guide was intelligent, timely, and listened to our interests. He was engaging, smart, and sure knew his way around. What a great day at the British Museum.
Robert was fantastic! He provided such amazing insights into some of the artifacts at the museum. We learned more with him in 3 hours than we could have learned in a year exploring on our own!
this was THE most amazing tour of our entire trip. Worth every penny, fun, educational, and not too crammed with things. The pace was great, the guide was amazing and we loved every minute of it
Our guide Robert was amazing. He took us everywhere we wanted to go and was so knowledgeable. He was so passionate about the exhibits that it made our time at the museum more exciting.
Robert was hugely knowledgeable and entertaining with the stories he shared with us. He has a passion for history that very much came across. We would very much recommend.
Robert is a fantastic guide. His knowledge and love of the British Museum made the tour both informative and engaging. Robert arrived early, and he was the first person in the queue. We went in the back entrance and beat the crowds. In addition to the highlights, Robert showed us a lot of hidden gems. He explained what was special about so many things that we would have just walked by without a second glance. Robert was so good that we may book one of his other tours.
The British Museum is a place so packed with history that it makes you question what you’ve been doing with your life. And if you’re lucky enough to explore it with Robert, you’ll walk away not just fascinated but genuinely enlightened (and possibly rethinking your entire career path in the humanities). Robert was everything you could want in a guide—patient, knowledgeable, and completely unflappable in the face of our many, many questions. He had that rare gift of making ancient artifacts feel not just impressive but personal, like he was casually introducing us to old friends from Mesopotamia. The museum itself is overwhelming in the best way—rooms upon rooms of wonders from every corner of the globe, each one more jaw-dropping than the last. But Robert made it feel approachable, weaving together stories and context that turned what could have been an aimless wander into a true journey through time. If you ever get the chance to tour the British Museum with Robert, seize it. You’ll leave feeling smarter, more curious, and just a little smug about how much history you now casually know.
Great experience doing the guided tour at the British Museum. Highly recommended. Its a must when visiting London
Excellent tour. One of the best we have ever had. There is so much to see having a true expert there to help navigate made the best use of our limited time.
The British Museum is huge, but we felt like we got to see all the most special parts with out missing a beat. Our guide was enthusiastic and knowledgable and we had a blast! A guided tour is the way to go!
Robert was my art tour guide in the British Museum. It’s a surprisingly wonderful experience for that entire 3 hours. He is passionate and knowledgeable about his work. I wish I could spend more time with him in other museums this time. Will definitely book my future trip with him.
Robert is a phenomenal tour guide. He is passionate about art and artifacts. His curating skill made the tour an A+ experience. He told a profoundly interesting background story for each of the twenty or so objects he featured. The British museum was crowded, but we hardly noticed it most ot the time, since we were so engaged in listening to his information.
Robert was an amazing guide! The time flew by! His enthusiasm for history really came through. Travelled with another adult, a 21 year old, and a 13 year old and we all raved about the experience. Would definitely recommend!
Our guide ROBERT MILLER the best guide very knwolagable, and professional The Musseum is amazing The Greek wing, the library and the enlightenment room they are a MUST
Robert Miller was an amazing guide. He shared his wealth of knowledge with us. We will never observe art in a museum in the same way again. He taught us the intricacies of major works of art and made those pieces come to life for us. I highly recommend Robert Miller. In addition to being an outstanding guide, he is very kind. He made sure that my husband, who has mobility issues, had a wheelchair and pushed him throughout the museum. Book with Robert and you will be delighted with your tour.
Amazing private tour! Robert was professional, friendly and extremely knowledgeable! He hit all the important highlights for us, and pointed out some things we would’ve never known. Had he not been with us. We definitely use him again.
Our guide was first class, adapting the narrative and subject tour to complement the group. Interesting, humorous but focused on the pace and information provided in a clear and concise way. Top notch and well worth the expense. I will do this at all venues zrichard offers.
Robert's enthusiasm and love of history and passion for the collection was palpable. Rosetta stone, Elgin Marbles, the collection and the setting, with each room unfolding onto another treasure trove was amazing. HIs precise knowledge of each object and its relevance and provenance enhanced the journey for me. I would recommend him unreservedly.
Our guide is the most prepared and charming gentleman in England! The best experience at the British Museum even I was there before.
