Joe was very knowledgeable and fun—we enjoyed the tour! We were able to get in on a sold out day and had time to explore more of the museum after our tour

I am 64 and I been to many museums in the world. The guide I had was the best I have experienced. I did not catch his name but his knowledge (especially about the Assyrians) was exemplary. I do not normally do feedback

Ethan was the most delightful, knowledgeable guide on our 2 hour taste of the British Museum. He was enthusiastic, funny, and just a delight. We saw so much in 2 hours from countries all over the world and antiquity. Seeing the Rosetta Stone, the bust of Tutankhamen, Parthenon, and more. Sadly the Bayeux Tapestry was sold out until December. We loved being back in London

Poor signage/ meeting place with guide. I was lucky to have 2 hrs one on one with guide Joe. Very knowledgeable, enthusiastic. Web page to join up confusing, lacking information, littered with crap advertising, didn't explain what was involved( or wasn't involved, e.g. Bayeux tapestry). Whole experience saved by guide Joe

Extremely informative Well organized Recommend this tour as The British Museum is quite large and with the tour you don’t have to search to find the highlights.

The guide was knowledgeable and interesting. He knew the exhibits very well and so he was organized in our travels and in his presentation We learned a lot.

Awesome experience with Alex, our guide. Knew just how to give us a concise tour of the highlights of the museum. He left us anticipating seeing more on our own. He also was great with info about hidden rest rooms, the gift shop, and the book store. Angelica, our greeter, was friendly and personable. Excellent.

Informative, fun and a great way to be guided through the museum. There is more here than you can possibly see in a day, so the tour focused in on Greek and Egyptian history. Our guide was very bright and new his stuff like crazy. Thanks!

Wonderful way to tour the British Museum! Guide was very knowledgeable and personable. He knew where he was going and he placed each exhibit we looked at historically. He dealt very well with the youngster in the group. He was enthusiastic and easy to hear and understand.

It was like New Years Eve in time square. There were so many people and so hot none of us enjoyed ourselves. We were there in the afternoon and stayed about 45 minutes. There was so much we wanted to see but just couldn’t. I suggest you plan to be there when it opens with pre bought tickets ( they are Free. ). Stay as long as you can stand it. Very disappointing and no we did not go back

Joe did a fantastic job keeping our group of 15 together and going through the areas on time. His knowledge was amazing—awesome background storytelling and funny anecdotes as well. We strongly recommend this tour if you only have a few hours to hit the high points of the museum. Oh, and we still had time afterwards to do some souvenir shopping in the expansive shopping area.

Our guide was Ella (Elizabeth). She was awesome ! She was so patient with us. I was really tired and she moved at our pace. Her knowledge was superb ! We are so glad we booked the tour. Without it we would have wandered around and most likely not have seen all that we did .

The guide was a no show. We were there 20 minutes before the tour. Waited the entire time but he did not show up. This is the first time we have had such a terrible experience with Viator. I am hesitant to use it again.

Our guide, Elizabeth, was excellent. She took us to several areas of the museum that we would not have seen had we not been with her. Her knowledge of Roman/Greek history was fabulous and she told us many wonderful stories/facts and “gossip” about the times that made the tour the best!

It is not worth buying Pizzaria when you are booking from the https://ticketing.britishmuseum.org/ . Rather, there are many other better options with lower prices to buy food after our long museum visit inside the museum.

Our guide was amazing and showed us many of the highlights in the museum as well as back stories to the museum itself and some of the exhibits. I highly recommend this tour.

Elizabeth was fantastic! We forgot to reserve tickets for the museum and were turned away at the entrance because tickets were sold out. Elizabeth found tickets so we could still join her tour. Her knowledge and presentation was impeccable and entertaining enough to keep our 9-year old engaged! Highly recommend!

A great way to experience the British Museum. Our tour guide was very informed and organized and an excellent storyteller - it made the museum come to life for me and the kids. He was also great at answering all my kid's random questions - even when it was off topic from his primary subject matter. Highly recommend!

Book this tour directly with the museum. We travel extensively and often use this app. But the museum is huge. Meeting place crowded. Guide NOT identifying self in any way. We were never able to locate them. Paid for nothing.

Was a terrific guide! Made sure everyone was heard and understood while bringing insightful information and answering everyone’s questions. Would highly recommend if you are looking for someone that’s not only knowledgeable but also passionate about history and culture.

We almost didn’t get through security because we only had a barcode, not a QR code on our ticket. Aside from that, Elisabeta was wonderful in her knowledge and in navigating the crowds.

Very bad information! We have tried to contact viator by email and el. without any response. No information about the meeting point, no information that is a free entrance for the Museum. We got a message on Whatapp..which where didnt expect to get there after our other attempts to know the meeting point. As a result we missed the guided tour!

We have done many guided tours around the world and our guide, Elisabetta, was the best - she went over and above answering all our endless questions and was very informative

I am travelling with my family. We reached the venue a bit late (around 7-8 mins late) because of my mother who has slight difficulty in walking due to knee pain. The tour guide Elizabeth called me and said that she cannot wait. We said that fair enough and to start the tour and we will join her. She shared the cordinates. Inspite of repeatedly asking, she did not share the gallery name or which room she is. We searched for her for more tha half an hour hoping to join the tour. She just messaged stating that she is in some other room and cannot come and get me. I asked her to share the details of where she was so that we can catch up but she did not share any further communication Even the British museum staff was kind enough to try to help us but due to lack of information, he was not able to help. Really regret booking this tour. Money wasted. We request a refund considering that we never joined the tour and not for the lack of trying.

My guide to the British Museum was Joe - Living in London I have visited the museum many times over the past 40 years but I decided to take this tour for a greater understanding of the objects I was to see on the day. Frankly, I have been on many tours world wide and I have to report that Joe was a simply outstanding guide with a very personable and polite manner and an enthusiastic commitment to sharing his comprehensive knowledge of the history of the objects we visited. He does not deserve 5 stars but 10! Thank you Joe.

It was a great tour! Denise was an excellent guide. I only wish we had more time and that the museum had more open exhibits.

Allthough we booked a groupvisit my daughter and I we're the only two participants. So we we're very fortunate to receive an excellent, personalized guided tour by Denise. We are very gratefull for this exceptional tour.

I turned up for a 10am tour at 5 minutes to and no one was there so waste of money for me and won’t do that again

There was zero communication from the tour operator until the day before the prepaid tour. The first message I received was an external link requesting additional payment for a tour that was already fully paid. This raised serious red flags and felt unsafe, so I reported it to Viator immediately. Viator declined to issue a refund. Suggest that travelers proceed with caution. Caveat emptor.

Unfortunately no tour operator has shown up and nobody replied when I have asked for money return. Bad experience.

Joseph was awesome. Turned up promptly, was proactive in communicating location before the tour and was incredibly knowledgeable. Fantastic.

The guide was engaging, spoke clearly and very knowledgeable. To keep 4 kids this interested for 2 hours you have to be very good at your job. I would most definitely recommend him.

Our guide was a little hard to hear, with all the background noise of others and other competing tour guides. We had taken other Viator tours in Amsterdam where we had individual hearing receivers.

After I confirmed and paid for my British Museum tour I started getting flooded flooded with emails from WhatsApp and on the day of the tour I receive no text or email or WhatsApp and five minutes before the tour started all of a sudden I get flooded with text from WhatsApp and there was no one to meet us at the British Museum. There was no tour guide. There was no flag stating that this was VA tour tour guide. This is a total sham do not buy anything from this website. They are scammers to the max. These people are a bunch of thieves. I will never use this website for a guided tour again.

We arrived about 9.30 am waited for about 15-20 minutes in Great Russell Street where tickets stated would be met by our guide, no one turned up and after asking security at the British Museum we were redirected to the back of the Museum - Montague Street, where we waited for another 1/2 hour, asking around and tried several times to ring mobile number listed, but disconnected and by this time 10.30 am, where we just went into the Museum on our own to look around for a couple of hours.

Guide did not show at the museum for the tour. When I joined the guide she said she was not scheduled for a tour until the afternoon. I did not get a response back from Viator.

Our guide Paul communicated clearly when and where to meet. It was so easy to get in. He was super knowledgeable and he led us around to see all the top artifacts in the museum before it got too crowded. He gave the perfect amount of context and background. This was the best way to see the museum and I have recommended it to family and friends.

We had trouble getting into the museum and couldn’t find our guide so we totally missed our tour! 😡 There should be better communication about how to find the guide!
