British Museum Guided Tour With Priority Timeslots(small Group)

Daniel is an excellent guide and we greatly enjoyed our time with him. I'm a 2-hour time window, you can't see more than a small fraction of the museum's collections, but he brought us to several fascinating exhibits. His breadth of knowledge is truly impressive. Trip Advisor, however, let us down by not providing any information about a meeting point in advance. In fact, 2 hours AFTER the tour was over, the email we should have gotten hours or days before finally arrived. Not helpful!! We got to the museum on time and couldn't find Daniel. He texted us that he was at the Information desk. Several visitors and staff members helped us find where it was. We had been on the opposite side of that enormous building. Every other private tour I've booked has sent me emails days before the event. Trip Advisor's lapse caused us to start the tour feeling rushed and very frustrated.

Their instructions were very clear where to meet. They were very good at reaching out ahead of time. Joey is a great tour guide and kept it very entertaining with his humor.

Informative Entertaining Engaging

The British Museum is way too big to see on your own without a huge amount of time. Daniel, our guide, was incredibly knowledgeable about everything we saw. He took us around to the most important pieces on display and was a wonderful historian. He was great with questions and made the whole experience very worthwhile.

Thanks to James for our introductory tour of the British Museum. He really made our day a gem with his vast knowledge of the select, high interest areas we visited.

Daniel gave a great perspective to what we were looking at, that we never would have known as a normal visitor. His knowledge was so impressive and really pointed out interesting stuff to make the museum fresh and alive.

Our guide Ethan is very knowledgeable about the ancient artifacts we were seeing. He hit an excellent balance in the two hours of the tour between pointing out items from across the world, giving more detailed descriptions of major museum holdings (Eygpt, Greece, Assyrians.) Good mixture of information and interesting or amusing anecdotes. I will remember far more from that two hours than if I had walked around on my own.

Ethan was excellent. The itinerary was perfectly paced, maximizing our time without feeling rushed. We learned so much in just a couple of hours!

It was a good walk through the main galleys of the museum, however the tour itself was okay, not very insightful but gave an okay amount of detail. Probably best to get an audio guide for that amount of money.

Joey was an exceptional guide and helped point out some of the amazing artifacts in the museum. Impossible to do it all - it was a highlights tour which was phenomenal. He made the artifacts come to life with great stories and a variety of acting voices!

OMG! The guide was perfect. I can’t remember his name, but he was 20 something Oxford man. He spoke very clearly and in simple words and knew his History. Bravo.

The British Museum is a massive place and without a knowledgeable guide, it would have been so easy to become overwhelmed and miss some of the most historically significant exhibits. Our tour guide had a great sense of humor and made history come alive.

The British Museum is massive, taking this tour made it far more manageable for a first visit. Our host was equal parts knowledgeable and humorous while making sure we got to all the highlights (Rosetta Stone included).

Great tour - Dan was a wonderful tour guide and showed us all the highlights of the museum. Unfortunately, the museum was closing early that day but Dan still made sure we got the tour done. Highly recommend! Could have spent the day at the museum but this was a good start!

Our tour guide was terrific. The group was a bit smaller than usual which was fantastic. He took us to every major must see and then some. He even went a bit over on the time which was so nice and generous. His deep knowledge of the history of every article we looked at was incredible, and he was able to answer random questions about any and all pieces we passed by, even the ones that were not actually part of the tour. I could not recommend the tour enough! NOTE/TIP: The tour company may communicate via WhatsApp. I’m not typically a WhatsApp user, so there was a little confusion in the beginning about entry tickets, but they were very helpful and accommodating, and they called and emailed when we hadn’t retrieved the entry tickets. But check your WhatsApp if you’re on it. :)

Having a guide is the way to go! You learn the history behind things & you hit the highlights. Take your time & if you have time spend two days as there is so much to see. Great activity for a rainy day! Wish it was closer to where I live.

Tour was informative and helped me see a lot of things I would not have likely seen on my own. Although there was still more to see but we would have been there all night. James had lots of useful information

I book guides all over Europe, and Daniel is far and away one of the most knowledgeable guides I’ve ever encountered. His enthusiasm is fun, and the minute details he offers are engaging. I will book him again in the future.

Daniel was phenomenal!!! His knowledge is extensive. He had a wealth of knowledge and wove the item on view, the history and a general narrative together with skill. He was very engaging and gave us an overview of a variety of areas in the museum - a lot in just a few hours. I want to tour other parts of the museum or anything else with him. Great highlight tour of the massive British Museum. Daniel was a terrific guide although I did have trouble following him through the crowds at times. The audio set and ear phones were clear and loud enough in the crowds. It was easy to find Daniel to start the tour and you could stay as long as you want after the two hour tour to view things of interest on your own.
