What a novel way to have a meal. So much fun and the food was amazing. The clues were not as difficult as I thought they might have been, what a relief. It was so much fun am already planning to do another soon!!
We did have fun BUT I'd encourage the owners to play the game anonymously as at one of the stops the workers announced to each other that we were gourmaze and clearly gave us less of something. Disappointing though it didn't ruin the experience overall
We really enjoyed the Talisman Treats tour, the what’s app guide worked perfectly and we visited fascinating streets and places that we wouldn’t have known about without the tour. There were three food stops, all with very tasty food and we felt quite full by the end! We would definitely do another tour.
Second Gourmaze we’ve done. We did the Taco Trailsman in Shoreditch. The food was great and such a lovely part of London. Stopped for drinks in the Light Bar and Tavern which were both excellent. Thoroughly recommended.
This was a gift from our son. We really enjoyed the experience. Food was good. The only thing we would change is that rather than food at each stop it would be nice if the middle one was a drink instead but we this did not detract from us enjoying our time. As it was a gift we don't know how much it cost but had to rate.
Such a great way to explore Covent Garden and bond with colleagues, and all the food was incredible! I loved that each place had vegan options 🙌🏼
Very easy to set up the self guided tour, a lot of fun solving clues and eating tasty food. We explored new places and tried new eateries so it was exactly what we hoped it would be. We crammed it in 3 hours but I'd spend longer next time. We were so full at the end we took a box home. At 8 months pregnant it was not too far to walk, but was tired at the end! Would recommend!
What a fun experience! Went to places I would have never had even found and even experienced some food I have never tried, all whilst on an adventure of clues and riddles! Highly recommend!!
Gourmaze Asian food was an enjoyable tour roughly around SoHo. We went to celebrate my 60th birthday, with my husband and daughter and her partner. We all loved the first and third food stop, though only one of us liked the middle one. Three stops in all, and we bought dessert in the same location as the third, which was convenient. The clues were pretty easy and we enjoyed seeing midden courtyards which we’d otherwise miss. All in all we enjoyed our afternoon and would consider doing another Gourmaze tour.
Dont waste your money, the options are not really as good the first food option was good but the last 2 were big food chains with really no taste.
Really over-rated. Like other games / tours this is WhatsApp based. However the Asian food involved were three relatively small courses so very limited. Each food business it took us to was generally very small and very busy with long queues with other customers. So the staff were very limited in time to speak and seemed to be very disinterested in the little phrases that gourmaze asked us to tell them. The first stop was ugly dumpling where the staff insisted we stand outside to order the dumpling then allowed us to sit inside afterwards only if we ordered extra drinks. Some of which were not available. When we got in we found the restaurant to be mostly empty so unclear why we had to stand outside to start with. Second location was Sushidog - only entitled to half a dog each so you have to order same variety as another person in your group. Queue was going out the door. Last stop was seven dials, a very minimal bao bun type meal. Don’t expect to be full with this experience, we had assumed this woukd be an alternative to a meal - we should have just booked a restaurant.
It was called the rickshaw race. Started really well with the food at the Japanese restaurant, it was very tasty and we thought ‘great, we are in for some fabulous treats today’. Next stop was awful, French tacos which were so greasy and unappetising and we all left them on the table. We were not expecting to be in a food hall, having to hunt around for a table, have to find someone to clean it, then get such awful food. Last stop was a food stand for churros, nowhere to sit or get anything to drink so we decided to skip it and went to a Brazilian restaurant so we could sit down, get great food and be served. I don’t believe the food that was on offer was worth £49 per person and certainly would not recommend this particular tour - we stupidly thought it would be Asian street food and had no idea the French were famous for making tacos!
Amazing day! Very well planned out and the food was amazing
Really great way to spend time with friends, see parts of London you might now walk through and try great food. We took our time and stopped at some pubs on the way round so it was relaxed which was great. The clues are great fun.
Amazing day out with my teenagers. Had good food and walked around Soho. Would recommend to all.
Fantastic way to see Camden Market! The puzzles were nice and fair, and the vendors picked were a really good selection. Would highly recommend to others wanting to explore the area.
The Talisman Treats tour was a birthday present from my friend Jan G. Absolutely loved every minute of it - what a fab present & day! All the food was delicious & plentiful so filled us up. Loved seeing parts of London we’d not come across before & learning new facts about those areas! A great game & day out & we shall be trying the other tours out now too.
Bought as a present for a friend - great way to spend the day together and also enjoy some decent food (more than we expected - we were full) discovered parts of London we did not know about and used our brains a little to solve the clues too !
A great set of questions/clues, food options were supreme, all quite local to the start point.
We had a lovely time, we thought we knew that area of London but discovered many hidden treasures. The clues were just right (for us) and the food delicious and filling. A really good day out, 4 hours for us but we did stop for drinks regularly, lovely pubs were suggested.
Food was really nice and clues were good fun
My friend and I went as a pair. I wasn’t sure what the food would be like (I had fairly low expectations) and I was worried I’d be a bit hungry as the description wasn’t that clear. I’m also a bit rubbish on my phone. Firstly; the food was excellent, really tasty and great quality! It was a good amount (not filling but satisfying) and with pub suggestions nearby, it helped to work up our appetite and take a break to enjoy catching up. The staff that knew we were on the experience were super friendly and it just felt light hearted and fun (we went on a Saturday too and had no issues getting a seat anywhere). It was really easy to use the WhatsApp service with it and worked really well. I actually think it was well worth the money and have actually recommended it to several people since. We weren’t rushed about doing it quickly so took our time over food and drink and easily spent 5 hours doing it, but depending on your level of competitiveness, you could get it done super quick. Honestly, I thought it was going to be a bit naff but it really was a great laugh, very well thought through and had the annoying “ohhhh” moments when you realised you misread the question. Really great job Gourmaze!
The gourmand experience was really fun. I was surprised how excellent the food was, as assumed it was more about the clues and touring but it was delicious. It was excellent value for money. We can’t wait to try another one.
Super well organised! They give let you choose level of difficulty, the 'clock' stops while you're easting, the places are all well informed about the maze and as a bonus we learned some fun facts about London. Food quantity was just about right for a meal and were delicious!
Had a great time. Clues were quite easy to solve and the food choices were exceptional. We were all full up at the end
Gourmaze Rickshaw Race. We had great fun completing this challenge. It started off well with some very tasty gyoza’s and sushi in the buzzy centre of Camden. The tasks were fun with the right level of difficulty for our group and the tech on our phones worked seamlessly. Everyone in our group contributed to solving the clues making it exciting and fun. We tasted excellent street food from venues we would not have found by simply wandering around Camden. The Rickshaw Race by Gourmaze is a definite 5 star activity and we will definitely do another one.
Such fun! We discovered little alley ways we never knew existed in London. The clues got us thinking and the food was good. Well organised, with easy to follow instructions. Will definitely book another tour, this time with my teenagers.
This was honestly so much fun! We really enjoyed it and the food was exquisite!
Really fun but challenging experience , definitely requires a lot of thinking but also allows you to try foods from places you wouldn’t have thought to go to otherwise . Would definitely recommend . However perhaps eat something before as we found that we were quite hungry with the small potions and all the walking in between .
Absolutely great time. The clues were fun and not too hard. The food was perfect (dumplings, bao buns, sushi). Everything you would expect from Asian Street food. Plenty of food and great quality. We could finish all the last. Really interesting walking around Soho.
We had an brilliant time, it was a great work team experience and all the food venues were excellent
Highly recommend this, was a great day, saw places, restaurants, sights we hadn't seen before and tried some amazing food!! Would do it again!!
Fantastic time. Found places we'd never seen before. Fabulous food and really good fun.
We all really enjoyed the tour. It was a lot of fun. Two of the three venues had very decent food but not the third. The clues could have been more demanding.
We had such a fun time doing Gourmaze The Talismans Treat and would definitely recommend it if you’re looking for a different way to explore London. The concept is brilliant, the clues were fun, and the food portions were actually super generous, which was a really nice surprise. The only thing I think could make it even better would be having access to a leaderboard, just to add a bit more excitement and friendly competition along the way. I also would have loved the last food stop to be a sweet option, which would have felt like the perfect ending. That said, we had a great experience overall and it definitely made me want to try another maze soon.
Great fun takes you through lovely Squares and past great pubs food was amazing
I booked this literally the day before as something to do with my 12 year old son during the holidays. It was so much fun and actually harder than I expected but in a good way! It was a decent amount of food to keep us going, we weren’t super keen on the second food option but we got a take away and brought it home for my daughter to eat (we’re also quite fussy). It took us a good few hours and we walked a lot of steps, really had a great day out and I’m defo going to be doing another one in future!
The concept sounded so great but in my opinion, that's not good value for money..the food stops are too "fast food" types and you have to share a sushi roll for example which is really weird and stingy I thought...you can't sit down also unless you pays for drinks with extra money... I expected some venues to be more high quality and authentic unknown little gems based on the Price we paid...not food court type....Don't expect any real authentic Asian food, it's a bit industrial.... The riddles could've been more original and diverse too, I thought... The concept is so great but should be improved.
I did the Asian street food Gourmaze trail as part of a team building day with colleagues. Overall, it was a great day that took you into areas of Soho that I personally hadn't encountered. We split into two teams, so it was great to race against each other and added a nice element. However, the food spots are labelled as 'hidden' gems, when in fact they were all chains - so this was slightly disappointing. Good food nonetheless!
Amazing concept but when you are promised hidden gems and end up in national chains that’s just false advertising Food stops were NOT good on the Asian trail
