A nice overall experience due to an intimate setting, along with exceptional service. The sweets and scones were good. The sandwiches, especially the chicken, were extremely bland. For the price, the food fell well short of my expectations. Although overall a nice experience, it's definitely not worth a return visit.

This was an absolutely perfect afternoon tea. I researched quite a bit before making a decision and I am so happy that I chose this one. There was so much food and it was all presented beautifully! I couldn’t have been more pleased. The hotel was also decorated impeccably and completely set the stage for an afternoon tea. I would not hesitate to recommend this event.
Excellent in many ways. Staff is so polite and our attendant offered great tea selections. Seated at a window table in the most comfy chairs. Started with Prosecco. Presentation was beautiful. The individual sandwiches were tasty with our favorite being the chicken with mayonnaise surrounded with toasted almonds. Then the desserts —-awesomeness, followed by the freshly baked scones topped with jam, or lemon custard. Yum-Yum.
Although it was a little more expensive than some other afternoon teas, the service and experience was above the ordinary. Here we were able to sample more than one selection of teas. The scones were made fresh for us and the tea sandwiches were delicious. Everything is served in fine silverware. The library setting is very relaxing and comfortable. We left the experience feeling we had got our money's worth. The location which is just outside Kensington Palace makes for an ideal afternoon of pampering.
The food was great and the staff was very attentive and made sure we had enough tea and sandwiches. There was enough to make a meal from it.
Scones were served warm and the cakes and sandwiches were refillable. The staff were excellent. Large selection of teas and right by Kensington palace/gardens
Wanted to experience afternoon tea. It was a nice well-appointed traditional hotel, friendly service, unlimited choice of tea, food was ok, heavy on the sweets, but overall a fun experience
The tea service is everything you might envision for formal team in London. The room where tea is served feels like an Englishman's library. It is beautiful and comfortable. The service itself is gracious and delicious. We were especially pleased with the scones that are like soft biscuits--just excellent. Although the cost might be in the higher end of afternoon tea, it was worth every penny for an experience we will never forget.
When in London, a bucket list experience for sure! Enjoy an English tradition of tea, finger sandwiches, and scrumptious deserts in an elegant setting.
We had a great time for our first 'english afternoon tea'! The food was delicious and the tea was tasty, we must have tried 6 or 8 different ones between us. The added champagne was nice but probably not worth the prices. The staff was attentive and very professional.
While the service and fare were overall excellent, I felt that this was not my favorite or best high/afternoon tea experience in London. On my most recent trip to the city, my usual spot for afternoon tea was closed, so I tried Milestone based on reviews here. Milestone's website made it seem very important that one book in advance, so I made sure to lock in my table reservation ahead of time. I arrived a few minutes early, and was shown to the tea room. The host said that I could sit at the indicated table, but also that I could sit anywhere I liked because the 1:00pm tea was "light" today. By "light," it seems they meant that I was the only booking that day. So, I had a fancy tea by myself in the tea room. It was a little silly, but not terrible. The place is very cute, tastefully decorated, and had classical piano playing during my visit. The afternoon tea, I learned, includes: two different pots of tea, a "bottomless" sandwich and mini desserts tray, and a final tray with two scones (one with dried fruit, one plain), jam, lemon curd, and clotted cream. The tea itself was very good and the scones were my favorite part, though they are not served until the end. The main sandwiches and mini desserts tray is brought out with the first tea, and the scones are brought out when that is finished and you have your second tea. The sandwiches were honestly just so-so, and I didn't care for the miniature desserts on top of that tray much (could be personal preference!). I also thought the lemon curd that came with the scones was really not good at all (felt low on the lemon, and was like, a mayonnaise texture?). I feel bad giving it four stars, because the service was friendly, the place was beautiful, and the tea was good, but it felt very overpriced and a bit too formal for what it was. I also think that replacing some of the middle tray desserts with a salad or something would really give the whole set of food a much needed lift. I know it's afternoon tea, but this one FELT really heavy. I don't think I would return again, but am glad I tried it.
This was an amazing experience, and I highly recommend it! Come hungry because there was an abundance of food for each person, including multiple sandwiches, pastries , scones, etc. Their tea options were also exceptional. Excellent service & overall experience in a historic hotel.
This was a wonderful experience. Tim, the doorman and my server (forgot her name) were outstanding. The service, care for the tradition, and warmth of engagement were all outstanding! Absolutely would go again!
My daughter and I absolutely loved having tea at the Milestone. Service was excellent and the food and champagne were delightful. It was exactly what we hoped a high tea would be - hotel is lovely and located right across from the beautiful garden gate of Kensington Palace. Would definitely recommend to friends and family.
A truly lovely setting in the library of Milestone (victorian) hotel. The staff were attentitive, knowledgeable, and were excellent at their job. All going out of their way to make this experience special to us. The afternoon tea itself was absolutely delicious! There were many different teas on offer to try. The staff again were helpful in deciding! Highly recommend this experience and we will defintely return in the future.
My wife and I enjoyed having Afternoon Tea at the Milestone Hotel. This was our second time. We like that you can try more than one tea.
The High Tea was amazing - probably the best I’ve experienced. Round chicken sandwiches coated in almonds were next level and two of the desserts were out of this world. Grant who served us was great. But the cost of a bottle of water at £10.85 left a sour taste in my mouth. If I’d known they were going to charge us for the water I would have taken the bottle for a souvenir 🤣🤣🤣
The afternoon tea was delicious and the hotel is absolutely beautiful! What a wonderful way to spend an afternoon, and such a classic British experieince.
Great historic atmosphere, delicious food and tea selection. Awesome service from beginning to end. Beautiful experience for my daughter’s 30th milestone birthday 🎂
Dress appropriately. Very elegant 5 star hotel. Lots of food for everyone so come hungry. You can try as many teas as you like.
Quaint, quiet tea atmosphere. High tea was very good. Food was good. Server needed more training and language learning, but was nice.
The treats were all well selected and fabulous and the service was amazing. A wonderful experience and highly recommended.
Amazing and delicious. We had a great experience, and loved the service. Angelo took very good care of us, explaining so much about high tea.
Wonderful atmosphere, great food and the staff was amazing to give us history of the hotel and a tour of the property. Highly recommend!
Elegant restaurant, great service and very good food. Expensive but worth it to experience an English tradition.
We were welcomed with a warm greeting and smile from the moment we arrived. Luis, our server, was gracious and attentive. The variety of teas was very satisfying! The food was as beautifully presented and delicious! The tea room was comfortable, inviting and relaxing. We would highly recommend!
The hotel is in a great location and we were seated by a window so we had a good view of the park. The waiter, Ezio, I believe kindly turned the aircon down a bit as it was blowing in my face. My friend had not met up for a long time and we felt relaxed and able to stay for as long as we liked. Some of the sandwiches were not as fresh as they could have been but that didn't detract from the experience. Cakes and scones were both lovely.
This was a wonderful experience with my daughter. We were treated so well by the staff. The food was amazing and the teas were delightful.
Great trip to Warwick Castle, and I enjoyed the tours of Stratford and Oxford. Saul was a very helpful guide. Good tips about the areas and made sure everyone understood directions. Cory was an excellent driver!
The Milestone High Tea is a wonderful experience. We throughly enjoyed the very tasty sandwiches, treats and tea. It was a great opportunity. The service was delightful, very attentive and helpful. Thank you!
Lots of fun and the food was great. Everyone was super nice and accommodating! The scones were fresh and the teas were great.
Impeccable service and beautiful, delicious food in an upscale, historic hotel. A must for travelers seeking to try an English tradition.
It was beautiful, filling and overall delightful experience. We are from Boston and had never experienced afternoon tea and we would now highly recommend it. It was a beautiful place and wonderful staff and delicious tea, scones, finger sandwiches and treats! Must do for sure at the Milestone Hotel
The atmosphere was cozy, the tea and food were delicious, and the staff were very attentive. Highly recommend!
The staff, food and ambiance was fabulous. They were able to accommodate my wife’s gluten free request without issue even though they recommend advance notice for quicker and guaranteed service. While I don’t need to be gluten free, I usually am and can honestly say that I didn’t feel like I missed out on anything! Well done!
The food was absolutely wonderful and the tea room was quaint and cozy. I would recommend it. Enjoyed trying new teas.
Very nice experience, very courteous and kind staff. The younger girls were offered hot chocolate instead of tea which we really appreciated. The selection of teas is not very large but in my opinion sufficient for a pleasant afternoon tea. A selection of sandwiches and desserts are offered but in my opinion the highlight are the scones which are really very good, perhaps I would have appreciated being able to choose from more jams. The room is very beautiful and makes for an immersive experience.
Due to traffic restrictions because of a protest we were a bit late, but they were very kind and accommodating, and the experienced did not disappoint. The tea sandwiches were delicious as well as the scones and treats. We were not able to eat at all so they packed it up and we took it with us. Everybody was exceptional and the milestone is beautiful.
The place is beautiful and the staff were very pleasant, we enjoyed the very touristy experience. The tea was fantastic!
I recently heard a well-known TV news presenter say there is nowhere in London serving a good afternoon tea. Quite obviously they have never had afternoon tea at The Milestone...SENSATIONAL! The best we've ever had...an epicurean delight!
Equisite!! I treated my family to afternoon just before Christmas and what an incredible experience we had. The service, the food, the ambiance…..was all A class. We were treated like royalty. I highly recommend!!
This was a poor place. The food was not fresh; the seats and room were tiny. The service was fine but I would not go here again.
The food was delicious all the people - waiter waitresses are super friendly I love the room that they served the afternoon tea , it was nicely decorated as a sitting room i will highly recommend this place for afterwards tea
Me and my mother had a wonderful time at The Milestone Hotel! Everything was perfect and the afternoon tea was amazing.
The Milestone does a lovely Afternoon tea, among the best we’ve had in all our years coming/living in London. The setting, staff, tea selection and food were excellent. There was one notable unpleasant note created by Viator exclusively. Out of the blue, half way through tea, both the Milestone and I received notification that our tea was canceled. It was a mistake on Viator’s part when in fact I had successfully canceled a previous tea reservation at the Milestone which had been inexplicably booked for a nonexistent time slot. I had then rebooked and received confirmation for our preferred time. Viator seems to have remained confused. In summation, we were impressed by the Milestone and not at all by Viator.
The atmosphere and service was impeccable. This was a birthday present for my cousin and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We loved the presentation of sandwiches, desserts, and tea. The staff were friendly and brought our scones after we finished our sandwiches so we could enjoy them while they were warm. Overall, I would recommend this activity to anyone looking to spend an easy and quality afternoon with whomever they invite.
Great value. Sophie was excellent she was very knowledgeable and enjoyed ever minute. The hotel and the room was fantastic! Our first time in London and the best experience.
I went with my family. The place is gorgeous, the staff super nice, and a must do in London. They have gluten free options. Great food, great place.
We experienced this afternoon tea in December 2022. The hotel is gorgeously decorated and conveniently located. We arrived early and had a drink at the bar. The staff was very friendly. The tea service was wonderful, but honestly way too much food. Because of the way the booking was set up, I booked two 2 person tea services for my party of 5. When we arrived, we told them our situation and they were able to seat us together. We were served 2 of the tea trays and there was no way we could have finished one full tray between the 5 of us. So it felt like a waste, but it was such an amazing experience.
The tea was absolutely lovely. My daughter and I had champagne, different teas to choose from, and a sampling of tasty treats and sandwiches. The staff were all wonderful and attentive to our every need. The atmosphere made you feel like you went back in time and were dining with royalty. I would highly recommend this high tea and treats! Make sure you ask about the history of the hotel.
