Excellent tour of Jack the Ripper. Konstantin very knowledgeable. The group was quite small so we got quite a lot out of it. Other groups that we saw were enormous so we thought we were quite lucky with ours.
Amazing Guide! Really informative, not only on Jack the Ripper but also about the Victorian era. The lifestyle and the culture really helped us understand what went wrong with the investigation and I highly recommend.
Great guide, he was very knowledgeable and was extremely friendly and accomplished with all he told us.
Rory was an excellent guide. He was very knowledgable about the time, place and historical significant of the East End.
We had a tour at 6pm on 30/6 with a fantastic guide- super knowledgeable, friendly, professional and easy to chat with. I couldn’t recommend him more!
Rory was our guide for the tour, he was great and very considerate of walking pace and let us stop whenever we requested to. He spoke clearly and encouraged questions from the group. Overall so well presented, he had great knowledge and was lovely seeing a guide who was so open to others ideas and always willing to learn even on the job We had a brilliant time! Could listen to him talk all day, funny and friendly, just fantastic.
Great tour and Jed was superb! Made it fun, engaging and a great discussion. And to finalise with remembering the ladies rather than jack makes it evermore poignant.
Ben our Tour Guide was superb. Dressed the part and was very knowledgeable about the subject matter and the general history of the area where it all took place. All retold passionately and with enthusiasm. He expertly and safely guided us around the area and after the tour was finished he was gracious with his time to answer our questions. Higher recommended tour and guide.
Our tour was with Jeb. He gave a great tour. Lots of interesting stories. Highly recommend.
A really interesting and informative walking tour with Ben. It was so good that the victims were given the respect they deserved.
A truly enlightening experience. Despite knowing much about the Whitechapel murders, out tour guide also gave us some insights into other murders that happened and how potentially they could be linked to the Ripper. The tour guide, Michael, provided some very indepth information and details about the murders, he was also quite willing to give his opinion on some theories about the identity of the murderer which could dispel the myth of who the killer was! Also, the history of how the police operated at that time as compared to now was interesting to say the least...more of them on the beat than now!!! The tour took us to places that I have not been to despite many visits to the capital...all very interesting and worthwhile despite the very cold weather! We were part of a small group of 5 which made it much more intimate. possibly better for the guide too! The cost of this tour was reasonable, best to spend the majority of the day in London to really make it cost effective though. I can highly recommend this tour if any one is fascinated by this historical event.
Jed was outstanding! A true gentleman and a huge wealth of knowledge. Jed made the tour super engaging, fun and had us all transported back to 1888 in East London.
It was very cool tour. We went in the evening on Saturday, so the atmosphere was perfect, with a bit of fog and after dark. It added to the immersive experience, on top of a great guide who was very knowledgeable about the topic and the local area in general. We were excited and would recommend it to anyone who is interested in getting to know London in a slightly different way.
Rory led the tour brilliantly. He had great knowledge and made it really interesting. He also had a book containing pictures which really helped bring the facts to life! Thoroughly recommend brit icon tours and will look at further walking tours they do as I enjoyed it so much.
We had a fun experience with our tour guide Jed. The tour was interesting, well thought out and Jed's personality really made us enjoy the experience much more. Would love to tour again.
This tour had glowing reviews from friends, but I'm afraid they must have had a different guide. We had one named Chris that seemed to kind of miss the point of it all - the narrative, the lore, the cultural/historical context. I walked in knowing nothing, but he just jumped right to the murders with dates and names - very detailed without much story. I've been on many tours and guides usually have a rhythm, keep time, engage with the group (or at least ask where everyone is from), and have jokes that are tried/true and land every time. This just wasn't the case - it went overtime (checked his watch once in 2.5 hours), he seemed peeved by questions, and one friend of my ducked out early. We ended up learning more about the history of it all by Googling at the pub later that evening.
Ian made the trip truly engaging and captivating. He shared detailed insights about the history and mysteries, and through his storytelling and expressive tone - especially when reading those eerie letters - he created a vivid, intense, and slightly sarcastic atmosphere that made us feel as if we were witnessing the real scenes unfold.
Ben was a phenomenal tour guide, dressed in period clothing and making the experience all the more authentic! We really enjoyed the Jack the Ripper Walking Tour. Ben presented a very detailed, yet entertaining historical tour of this most famous serial killer.
Ben was a great guide. He was very knowledgeable and did a great job leading the tour. A lot of information told in a as very entertaining way.
After I registered the tour, I received confirmation email and also two reminder emails. But on that day, no one showed up, and no one notified me that the tour was cancelled. So I wait for around 30 minutes trying to contact the Brit icon Tour by email and by phone, but no one answered me! So what was going on?? Three days later they just sent me an email to ask for the review, how crazy
As always very informative and a very entertaining experience Highly recommend to both newbies and Ripperologist a like
Just fantastic! No theatrics, no bs, just facts. Did an amazing respectful job or describing the story. I learned a lot. Rory was very knowledgeable and engaging. Would definitely recommend!
was very interesting as you could tell the guide had done his research personally with many side facts and interactive discussions. I Had to dig a bit to find one that wasn't theatrics and gore but more historically accurate and respectful of the women murdered . Highly recommend !
This was exactly what I wanted. Facts only. No theatrics, theories and rumors discussed but not made to seem real. Rory was incredibly knowledgeable and professional. It was perfect!
Ben was an outstanding guide. He is exceptionally well versed in Ripper lore. I really love that he included the whole stories of the women rather than just writing them off as prostitutes. Also loved that he gave a background and history of the area and really set the stage.
No one showed up for the tour. We waited over a half hour. An email was sent out about cancelling brit icon tour but did not say it was the jack the ripper tour so ignored it. Not impressed
Jeremiah was an excellent tour guide. He did a wonderful job. His story telling of Jack The Ripper was fantastic. The group was really fun too.
I'd been wanting to do this tour on my last trip to the UK but never got round to do it. The guide Ben knew his facts and figures and brought to life a pretty grim story. The group size was nice as so many groups we saw in Whitechapel looked pretty big. Thanks Ben.
It was cancelled last minute and they still took my payment! Havnt had it refunded as yet. Don’t do it! Scam!!!!!!! Blah blah blah blah
The tour was informative but consisted of a series of facts delivered in a very boring way. Tour leader hummed and hawed quite a bit and gave us the information in a drab monotone way. Also stood too long in one place many times.
Being in a small group was brilliant. Ian was absolutely fabulous! He was very knowledgeable, great humour and really got us ‘in the zone’ he was happy to answer any questions and we even discussed possible suspects and had fun! It went dark during the tour - which only added to the atmosphere. Ian had a really high regard for our safety as he was mindful of where we went at one particular part. Thanks Ian! Great tour. Highly recommend.
Great tour seeing sites around Whitechapel. The tour guide was great and we learned so much about Jack the Ripper. Thanks again for a wonderful evening!
Jericho, our tour guide was wonderful! Very knowledgeable, happy to answer questions and engage with the group
Ben was super informative and encouraged our questions and discussion. He allowed us to theorize and debate the topic.
Today I was nicely presented with a tour from Philip without an e on the end specifically. Although he doesn’t like being called Phil for short his jokes are very hilarious with his interesting facts about Jack the Ripper this man deserves a raise and a house in Dubai and a grand throne. Very pleasant experience we need more Philips without the e on the end in the world.
Excellent and informative guide. Would do this tour again. Next time I am in London., despite the rain.
Hi, our Tour Guide Ian was absolutetly brilliant. He told and explained those Storys with such joy and made it very intresting for me and my Friend Simon. The weather was very Bad and rainy but that didn‘t stop Ian from get our all attention with his facial expressions and gesturing. A hundert percent astonishing.
This tour was absolutely awful The tour guide kept saying umm He had zero personality and it seemed like his goal was to bore us to death to be the next victim of Jack the Ripper.
We enjoyed this tour very much. Our guide was fantastic and the tour informative. Would definitely recommend this tour.
Rory, our guide was very knowledgeable and we found the trip interesting. Obviously a lot OT the sites have changed dramatically but Rory painted a good picture of the areas with his commentary, thanks Rory
Absolutely amazing guided walk with Harry our guide. The tour lasted a full 2 hours and we learnt so much about Jack the Ripper, the women he murdered and what life was like in 1888. Harry was so knowledgeable and was a brilliant guide.
Rory was awesome and knew alot of details. It was alot of fun. A great thing to do with a large group.
Rory was a very knowledgeable guide who looked after everyone in the group well. He gave such fabulous insights into Jack the Ripper and was professional throughout.
Ian is a very nice guide, he speaks clearly to help non english people to understand. It's a very nice experience. Thank you Ian
The tour was fun and very interesting. The guide did a really good job setting the context for what was going on in London at the time and drawing us in so we could experience the stories in context. On this tour, I feel like it really was the guide that made the tour; without his preparation and knowledge, it easily could have just been stories that happened, instead it was a really rich historical lesson. Really good!
Enjoyed the tour the guide was friendly and very informative. He took us to the actual sites where possible, a very enjoyable 2 hours.
Con was a fantastic tour guide. Lots of knowledge and great stories. Dedicated to his work and showed his passion towards Jack the Ripper history. Highly recommend.
Ben was our amazing, talented, and well-research guide through Whitehall and the sites surrounding Jack the Ripper. Pictures Ben used showing then and now, brought to life the hard life of the East End at the turn of the century. Ben had great respect for the women who lost their lives at the hand of Jack the Ripper. He has had a life-long interest in this topic, and brings facts not exaggerated colorful theories. Ben was a very interesting person and guide.
Our guide Ian made the experience an immersive experience and thoroughly enjoyable. I would recommend this tour to anyone interested in the Ripper
