A one-night business stay meant that I spent little time at the hotel, save for a couple of drinks in the bar and breakfast in the morning. The hotel enjoys an excellent location, especially for visitors to the city. It is impressive at first glance but my room was dated and felt slightly unloved. It needed some updating for sure. In my in-room minibar, I found a half-drunk bottle of water. It clearly hadn't been replenished since the previous occupants. Breakfast was disappointingly all self-service and no table service for cooked items which, for a hotel like this, was a big miss for me/ The breakfast offering was not far from a Premier Inn's, being completely honest, with the exception of the dining room decor. For the price, I believe there was better and I would be unlikely to stay again.

We had an amazing stay at this hotel. Pervez our attendant at the door was lovely once you walked in the door. Our host was so nice as she explained everything in the hotel. The rooms were great and spacious and the hotel was beautifully decorated. We will be back next time we stay in London! The location is perfect. In the middle of everything walkable in London and off to a side street that helps feel quiet. Thank you Royal Horseguards for the experience.
This hotel was fantastic! I'd give it 10 stars if I could. This hotel offers friendly, helpful staff with large rooms (larger than you typically find in Europe) and multiple power supply options. It is perfectly situated for seeing all the sites with both the Tube and Underground stations conveniently minutes away. It is also the only hotel I've ever stayed in that offers free mini-bar (soda, water, snacks) with daily restock. And don't miss High Tea - they did an excellent job offering several tea selections, sandwiches, scones and pastries. Absolutely made my trip to London so much more enjoyable. Well done Royal Horseguards Hotel!!!
Great location for the classic tourist sites. Even as a former local it was pleasant by the river. We didn't get any view from the room as we were upgraded to the Library Suite. Dinner was good and the evening was warm enough to eat outside. Slightly too loud background music on the terrace. To be honest I would have preferred a river view to a suite but the upgrade was free. The room (suite) was well appointed. We took a look around the grand staircase (ask to see it) in the adjoining Liberal Club. The hotel/club building is historic looking and has been used as TV/Film locations (I actually saw it the next day on TV). Breakfast was strange - shown to a table but no mention was made of tea/coffee or even where the buffet was (hidden round a corner) - we sat there confused until finally we flagged someone down to order coffee. Never known anything quite like that before. Otherwise the service was excellent from staff. Room rate was reasonable but there are no leisure facilities (like spa or pool). However you are well located.
I had a lovely stay at this hotel. The location is excellent, right by the River Thames and within walking distance of many of London's main attractions, including Soho, Buckingham Palace, and several theatres. The hotel itself is charming and set in an iconic building with plenty of character. I booked one of the larger rooms, which was spacious and comfortable, with a large bathroom featuring a bathtub. The hotel bar was also very cozy and a great place to relax in the evening. The service was good, although it was quite low-touch. Staff were friendly and helpful when approached, but there was very little proactive interaction, especially at check-in. There was also some traffic noise from outside, which may be worth considering if you're a light sleeper. Overall, it's a charming hotel in a fantastic location, and I would happily stay here again.
