I want to start with the only positive aspect of this place: staff. They are all very nice, collaborative, helpful and generous. Other than that, the place is extremely high priced and unworthy. Our rooms were pre-built container-like blocks, stacked by two. The rooms had no privacy. Large windows all over the room, looked right in front of other rooms beds. The pictures on the website are also false advertising: the big stairwell pertains to a college building where breakfast is served. The hotel has narrow stairs and no lift, but the receptionist was extremely kind and helped my friend with her luggage. They gave us two fans but given the heatwave and the glass walls, unfortunately the room temperature stayed around 30 degrees. We couldn't open the heavy curtains because it was like inviting our neighbors to the room .The fridge in our room didn't work and they gave us ice instead of repairing it or offering to change our room.Hadn't it costed so much, I would have been more lenient about the inconveniences but high price and zero privacy are not a good combination. Breakfast was good.

My experience at The Goodenough Hotel was okay but somewhat disappointing. While the location is great and the service very good, the hotel itself needs refurbishment beyond recent cosmetic fixes. It did not help that London was experiencing a heatwave and the hotel has no air conditioning, but the fact that there is no ventilation beyond the sash windows meant that rooms were stuffy even with the fans provided. + - Staff at reception are friendly and helpful - Good breakfast offering, with both a cooked breakfast at the beautiful Goodenough College around the corner and a continental option in the hotel basement - Great location with a access to a private garden across the street (ask for key from reception) - Comfortable beds and walk-in showers - - No ventilation in rooms other than portable fans - Recent renovations showing signs of wear and tear (broken taps, cracked tiles) - No common areas in the hotel itself (ie lobby or bar) - Rooms in the annex building are noisy and without proper blackout curtains, outside light spills in
#Noise #AverageCleanliness Very friendly reception staff who genuinely tried their best to let me check in earlier, which I appreciated a lot. The pillow also seemed clean. However, the soundproofing was poor — I could hear people walking and moving chairs upstairs, as well as conversations outside. The carpet had stains, the room lighting was very dim and yellow (not practical for makeup), and there were water marks on the toilet seat when I arrived. The room also provided cups and a coffee machine, but oddly none of the cups actually fit under the machine to catch the coffee directly, which felt quite impractical.
A Hidden Gem in London! I recently stayed at the Goodenough Hotel and had a fantastic experience. If you’re looking for a peaceful spot in the heart of the city, this is it. Here are a few highlights from my stay: Comfort & Cleanliness: The hotel was exceptionally clean throughout. My room was spotless, and the bed was incredibly comfortable, perfect for crashing after a long day of exploring. The Garden: Having access to the private garden was a total game changer. It’s such a rare find in London and provided a beautiful, quiet escape from the urban hustle. Prime Location: You really can’t beat the location. It’s central enough to get everywhere easily, yet tucked away enough to feel private. Exceptional Service: What truly made the trip memorable was the staff. They were all so courteous and helpful, but I want to give a special shout out to Vlad and Sebastian. They went above and beyond to make me feel welcome and looked after. I’ll definitely be visiting again the next time I’m in London. Highly recommended!
I had a wonderful stay at the Goodenough Hotel in London. Its location in Bloomsbury is absolutely perfect—quiet and charming, yet within easy reach of central attractions. The rooms were tidy, comfortable, and very well maintained, making it a relaxing place to come back to after a day out in the city. The reception staff were truly excellent—friendly, professional, and always happy to help with anything I needed. One of the highlights of the stay was the beautiful private garden, which offered a peaceful escape from the busy streets of London. The breakfast was also very good, with a nice selection to start the day. Overall, it’s a lovely hotel that combines great service, a prime location, and a calm atmosphere. I would happily stay here again.
