I stayed in a single room. Small but well appointed and the room was arranged to maximize the space. The bed was comfortable as were the pillows. Super convenient for getting from St Pancras on foot, walking distance to Covent garden. I would stay there again.

Nice small hotel with excellent location. However, we received a room in the basement (below streetlevel) without any mentioning of that when booked online. That might have been acceptable if it was reflected in the price, which it wasnt. Also there was a smell of mould present when the aircondition unit was switched off.
We booked a Bloomsbury Suite as a treat and checked into the hotel around 3.30pm mid-week. When we arrived we were told our room wasn't ready despite a 3pm checkin time and were told it would be ready soon. We were offered drinks as compensation and after 15 minutes wait, decided to accept some gin and tonics. Around 4pm, we got a key to the room. Then we discovered that the room was two floors up with no lift and 4 steep staircases. Since my wife has mobility problems, this was a serious problem, but there was nothing we could do. The room itself is very nice, but it was too warm. We left the window open while we went out for the night, but it was still warm when we returned. We turned the AC on but it made no difference and the room remained too warm. In the morning we went down for breakfast and discovered that this was in the basement down yet more steep stairs. So despite having paid for breakfast in our rate, we just left., as we had simply had enough and wanted to go home. There is zero chance we would return given the access problems.
I stayed at The Academy for a 1-night stay at the end of January, and I thought my single room was very smart. From arrival, the service was impeccable and one of the lovely reception team carried my bags to my room. It's worth noting that the hotel is a bit of a maze, being several townhouses together, and from an accessibility point of view, this isn't ideal. However, it wasn't a problem for me. Breakfast was included and it was a nice touch to be able to have barista made drinks as part of this. It's a continental breakfast but you can pay for additional items from the kitchen. I didn't get to visit the bar, although it looked lovely. Overall, I would stay here again - the bathroom was tiny, but fine for me being a solo traveller. Great location in the heart of Bloomsbury.
I stayed at this hotel for 7 days and had a wonderful experience. The rooms were clean and comfortable, beautiful backyard garden, Housekeeping was excellent, and breakfast was delicious with fresh baked pastries every morning. The reception team Amila, Baron, Davide, Felix, Ida, Andrea, Sithara, and Janos, were very friendly and helpful. The restaurant and kitchen team Krishna, Tea, Erangi, Tidi, and Menta, did a fantastic job every morning. Great location near three underground stations, with many cafés and restaurants nearby. A lovely hotel in a quiet and pleasant area. Highly recommended.
