We stayed one night at Sydney House Chelsea a few days ago. Access for St Guys hospital was ideal and just 300 metres away. The room was cosy with an enormous bed which was OK but could be restrictive for a longer stay. The only minor downside was the air conditioning that wasn't working. There are no evening meals served, but you can snack on crisps, cake and drinks served at reception. Breakfast serving porridge or full English was excellent and served in the spacious basement restaurant. Staff were amicable. Yes, we certainly would stay there again.

We had such a wonderful stay at Sydney House Chelsea. We stayed for two nights and everything exceeded expectations from start to finish. The service was truly exceptional, every single member of the staff was warm, welcoming, and incredibly helpful, which made such a difference. A special thank you to Miryam, who was so kind, sweet, and informative. She went above and beyond to make sure we felt comfortable and had everything we needed, and her recommendations were spot on. The room itself was perfect. The bed was comfortable, making it so easy to relax after long days exploring London. Breakfast each morning was absolutely delicious, with a great selection and a lovely start to the day. The location couldn’t be better. It’s so close to the tube, making it easy to get anywhere, and surrounded by fantastic shopping and amazing restaurants. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting London. Such a gem!
I stayed at Sydney House Chelsea for a two nights and it was an absolute delight. This beautifully restored Victorian townhouse offers the perfect mix of historic charm and modern luxury in the heart of Chelsea. Our room was elegant and spacious with high ceilings, a wonderfully comfortable bed, and a stylish bathroom. Everything felt high-quality and thoughtfully designed, with excellent soundproofing for a quiet and peaceful feel. The location is great – just off Old Brompton Road, minutes from South Kensington Tube, the museums, and Hyde Park, yet quietly tucked away. Excellent restaurants and shops are a short walk. The staff are genuinely warm and attentive, providing personal service that made us feel truly welcome. Maryam was absolutely lovely and super helpful. Breakfast was outstanding, with fresh pastries, cooked-to-order dishes, and hot coffee. Overall it strikes that rare balance of being elegant yet intimate and homely. Highly recommend! First week we stayed for 7 nights headed to Europe and back again for 6 nights. Location is excellent, staff are friendly. Unfortunately, one day upon entering the hotel it smelt strongly of Marijuana and it was clearly evident the receptionist had been smoking it as she smelt strongly of it and was under the influence. The first room we stayed in was very small, the floor was laminate and had not been cleaned prior to us because there was a sticky like coffee stain on the floor next to the bed that was there the whole time we were in that room, and it was never vacuumed. The room was very dusty, the walls, skirting boards needed a thorough vacuum and there were cobwebs behind the bathroom door. The shower over the bath did not work properly the heated towel rail didn't work neither did the radiator in the room. The noise from other guests staying in the room above was very loud just from them walking around, this woke me up several times. The second room we stayed in for 6 nights was a bigger room with a carpeted floor; the carpet was filthy it was in dire need of a clean or to be removed and replaced. The bed did not have a mattress protector on it which in my opinion is essential especially when multiple people would have slept in the bed, two of the four pillows we had, had pillow protectors but had stains on them. The shower door did not close fully which left a puddle of water in the bathroom and the shower cubicle was very small, nowhere to store shampoo etc except on the floor of the shower. One of the blinds was also faulty. The daily room service of both rooms consisted of fresh towels, bins emptied, bed made but not fresh sheets (although once it wasn't made) toilet paper, bottled water. Sydney house is in dire need of renovation, the standard of cleaning needs 100% improvement as it is not up to standard especially for the price you pay to stay there. The staff were friendly, but when you enter Sydney House, they don't stand up and greet you, they just sit there, not a standard or professional greeting for a hotel.
We had a lovely stay at the hotel! The rooms are good sized and the bed is big and comfortable! The breakfast is of very good quality and delicious and the staff is friendly and polite! Excellent location, nice and quiet neighbourhood. One downside was the noise/sound coming from the terrace (resembling to a loud fridge noise), however it didn’t disrupt our sleep nor we minded (but I feel I should mention it). Overall great experience, I would book again!
