We have just spent 2 nights staying in an Executive Double Room. The staff at this hotel are very good, they all provide a good customer service, in particular the Housekeeping Manager. It is clean and comfortable, the breakfast is buffet style offering a full English ( poached eggs on request) , continental & pastries. It does have a small lift. Our room didnt have a/c ( but we knew that before booking) the room had a large decent fan. Lots of history to this place, it was originally the London home of the Earl of Strathmore , our late Queen's Grandfather.

We had a wonderful stay at the GEM Strathmore Hotel Kensington and would definitely recommend it. Our room was surprisingly spacious for London standards, very clean, and the bathroom appeared to be recently renovated. We had a view of the courtyard, which was not particularly attractive, but this did not affect our overall experience. The breakfast was excellent, with a good selection of quality products, and the staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive. The service throughout our stay was warm and welcoming. The only downside was the housekeeping in the corridors. On several occasions, we passed dirty dishes and leftover food trays that had been left outside guest rooms for a long time without being collected. We walked past the same items multiple times, which was unfortunately not very pleasant. We also noticed vacuum cleaners and cleaning equipment left in the hallways during the evening when no staff were actively working there. This created a slightly untidy impression, which was a shame because the hotel itself is clean, elegant, and full of character. Overall, we had a very enjoyable stay and would happily return. The location, friendly service, comfortable rooms, and excellent breakfast make this hotel a great choice for a visit to London.
Good hotel. Very convenient location for museums and the Royal Albert Hall. Tube station (Gloucester Road) 5 minutes walk at, where there are shops and restaurants. Hotel has great staff, very helpful and polite. Room we had, although small had everything we needed as a base. Our breakfast was included in the price and was good. Choice of fruit, cereals and a cooked breakfast, though no baked beans, which was odd. Small lift but it did the job. The bar was good and they served very good breakfast tea 👍. On the other hand I've had much better tasting Camden pale ale, not the best. Overall, I would recommend this hotel if you are going to the Royal Albert Hall or want to visit the many museums in South Kensington.
Just had a night at this hotel, Great location with reasonable price. We had a baby and the staff offered and provided cot as soon as we asked for. Very friendly staff. Everything went as expected, but as a 4 star hotel, it was weird there is no mini fridge in the room, no water bottles, and of course if you buy from stores, again no fridge to keep your drinks over night.
Only stayed for 1 night, but the stay was fantastic. We stayed in a quad room, 1 queen bed and two twins. The room was incredibly spacious, and had a lovely stocked bathroom. The view looked right over the quaint neighborhood street and it was so picturesque. They held onto our luggage while we explored the rest of Kensington. The Natural History Museum is also a quick 5 minute walk nearby. Would highly recommend this place to stay!!
