Where do I start? Firstly the name of the hotel is a little misleading, it's not on the Tottenham court road, so the taxi drivers drop you at the wrong place and you've to walk or get another cab to the right hotel, when you mention it to reception they simply tell you 'oh yes we get that all the time', but in typical fashion in this hotel they don't give a hoot. I was unable to check in early which is fair enough so went to the bar for a drink and some lunch. I managed to get a drink at the bar as no one came to my table and promptly sat down with it, I asked for a food menu at the bar and twice while at the table but none came. I went to pay for my drink and when doing so noticed at 2 pound service charge had been added to my bill, for a 7 pound pint that id had to stand and order and bring to my table myself. I told them to remove the charge and was told we can do that, can you write your credit card number down and we'll reverse it!! Absolutely incredulous that they would do this, I told them not to bother and continued to my room. I could hardly move in the room, such was the size of it, the bed was like a slab of concrete and the bathroom was god awful. I couldn't get out quick enough, I was extending my stay in London by a day and booked elsewhere rather than stay here another night. The hotel contacted me after my stay and apologized, which was good of them and should be commended but there are some serious failings at this hotel, not least their staffs inability to communicate charges and show you a bill before charging you and then asking someone to hand over banking details written down in order to process a refund. I won't be staying again and id not recommend it to anyone.

This hotel is truly a bargain for people who want to be in the heart of London and want great value. We have stayed 4 times this year for visits to the theatre and for jazz gigs. The rooms are very comfortable and amazingly quiet. The bathrooms have ranged from perfectly adequate to superb and the breakfast is exceptional value for London’s West End. The manager, Edgar has personally carried our luggage up 4 flights of stairs when there was a problem with one of the elevators. He has on each occasion secured us a great value room and has been truly professional and charming at the same time. Special mention for Nicholas on the desk and the concierge, Michael who has directed us to good restaurants and given us great tips for things to do. Highly recommended!!
The hotel is incredible inside. The room I had was spacious, clean and luxury feeling. There was a wardrobe, safe, nespresso/pods, a large TV and was decorated tastefully. The interior of the hotel is lovely too. Nice stone floors, air conditioning, art etc. The bed was very comfortable and sleep was great. No noise from other patrons whatsoever. Service and housekeeping however needs a HUGE improvement however. It’s sadly the reason I must deduct two stars. - Supply cupboards left open on multiple floors - Trays of old food left in corridors all day and night - Leaking ceiling on the 5th floor - TV turned itself off after multiple attempts to watch the England match - Big language barriers with most staff who lack training. Check in took 15 minutes. - Despite a pre agreed late checkout and DND displayed outside my room, housekeeping let themselves into my room 30 mins before I was due to leave.
Loved my one night stay here - really classy, comfortable room and bathroom and surprisingly quiet for the middle of town (my room faced into the inner courtyard so only the hum of air con units could be heard with the window open). Great check in experience too. Only a couple of tiny niggles; still water would have been preferable to the carbonated water left for me in the fridge, and the breakfast was very average. I was lucky to get a good deal on a third party website and would def stay again on that basis.
Hotel is nice and fresh in a good location. Luckily the inside than the exterior would suggest. The gym is not very good for strength training though, basically just treadmills. Breakfast is good, but the staff are so fast to remove things from the table I'm afraid to leave it.
