Good Location, but Disappointing Room and Housekeeping We stayed at the Oliver Plaza Hotel in Earl’s Court with three adults. While the location was excellent, our room was very disappointing. Upon arrival, we noticed a strong urine odor and immediately reported it to the front desk. We were told no alternative rooms were available and that housekeeping would address the issue. Despite repeated complaints and assurances, the odor remained throughout our stay. The carpet was also in poor condition, raising further concerns about cleanliness and maintenance. The most frustrating part was the lack of meaningful action to resolve the problem. Guests should expect better when reporting such an unpleasant issue. Although the hotel is conveniently located near restaurants, shops, and the Underground, the excellent location simply doesn’t make up for the poor room conditions and inadequate response from staff.

Good location and rooms, but a very disappointing check-in experience I booked Oleva Plaza for four nights through Expedia and specifically booked a double room. However, when I arrived to check in, I was given a single room instead. I showed the staff member at the desk my Expedia booking, which clearly showed that I had booked a double room. Despite this, there was a lot of back and forth, and I was told that he did not have the authority to change the room and that the booking was supposedly for a single room. I contacted Expedia and they eventually intervened with the hotel. Only after two days was I finally given the double room that I had originally booked. Unfortunately, there was no refund or compensation for the two days during which I did not receive the room I had paid for. To be fair, the rooms themselves were good, the breakfast was fine, and the location is convenient. However, the way the check-in issue was handled was extremely disappointing. The problem wasn’t simply a room mix-up — it was the lack of willingness or ability to resolve the issue at the property, despite me showing clear evidence of my booking. For other travellers, I would recommend double-checking your room type carefully at check-in and keeping your booking confirmation available, especially if booking through a third-party platform. Overall, the property itself has some positives, but based on my experience, the customer service and handling of my booking issue were very disappointing.
To echo the other positive reviews, I was pleased with my experience and I'd probably book here again. - The distance to Earl's Court station was convenient while being distant enough from busy roads (and uncollected rubbish) to enjoy some quiet moments outside. - The continental breakfast is not complementary although good value. In our case it was casually waived, I think, because we checked out one night early due to a spontaneous change of plans. - My guess is that not many budget hotels in London have a lift, but this is one. - Above all, communication with hotel staff prior to booking was easy.
The people that run this hotel are so welcoming, so helpful, such warm and friendly people. They did everything to make our stay as comfortable as ever… even carrying my heavy suitcase up and down the stairs. Everyone was lovely. The room was clean, small, but very comfortable and it’s the perfect place to stay in London because of its close proximity to Tube, pubs and all kinds of restaurants. I would, without a doubt, stay here again. Such lovely people! Thank you!
Had a great stay here at the beginning of February!! Started out a little noisy with some unexpected nighttime road work right outside my room, but the staff was awesome in getting me settled with another room away from the noise. The shower was amazing, plenty of flow & water pressure, and the bathroom tile floor is heated! 😍 The beds were a little more in the firm side (which I like, but I know that's not everyonesl's preference) It's also very conveniently located near the Earl's Court Tube stop making it super easy to get to and from Heathrow as well as being able to navigate around the city and there's plenty of restaurants nearby as well! Overall, I loved it and would definitely stay there again! The staff were all very friendly and helpful and I really appreciated everything they did for me while I was there.
