Novotel London Blackfriars

We have stayed here loads over the years. Great location. Lovely staff. We had a show to get to so ate at the hotel in the interests of speed. Food was decent value and a really nice meal. Wine (Rioja) also good. I also like the relaxed decor of the bar. The bamboo furniture is an odd choice though as too low for the table. Only 3* however as the breakfast was expensive and shocking. “Fresh” orange juice was mixed with water. Hash browns were so hard they were inedible. Bacon was over done and greasy as was the fried egg. Mushrooms looked tinned. Not sure if the scrambled eggs were the horrible packet stuff as been on the warmer too long so bouncing and inedible. Minor minor issue but revolving door in reception also needs some attention… emergency stop is far too sensitive. The hotel can’t influence the view however we did pay a premium for a room with a view but our view was poor… ery scruffy industrial buildings etc

Katie was wonderful! We were at a hotel that was less than pleasant. We didn’t sleep the whole night. We walked over to Novotel after a little research and it’s beautiful, clean and amazing. She was so sweet. She got us a high room and told us some pointers about London. She also showed us the room and let us dropped off our stuff; upgraded us. She was so sweet!!! We became members and will stay here in the future! Thank you Katie!!

Good room, but disappointing bathroom We had a mixed experience during our stay. The room itself was clean, comfortable and quite good, so we were happy with that. Unfortunately, the bathroom was the main issue. There was a weird and unpleasant smell, and it didn’t feel like the bathroom had been cleaned properly. The floor especially could have been cleaned much better. We also found the bathroom design quite strange. The window was slightly transparent, which made us feel uncomfortable from a privacy point of view. This is something the hotel should definitely look into. There were no bathmats in the bathroom either. We noticed a sign saying that they could be collected from reception, but honestly, bathmats should be provided in the room as a basic amenity. I had also emailed the hotel before our stay requesting that the room, bedding and bathroom be cleaned properly, as we had noticed some concerns about cleanliness in previous reviews, so we were a little disappointed that the bathroom still had these issues. Overall, the room was good, but the bathroom issues, especially the smell, cleanliness, design and privacy, really brought down our experience. Hopefully, the hotel takes these points seriously and improves them.

I had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. The staff were always welcoming, friendly, and available whenever assistance was needed. Their professionalism and kindness made my stay even more enjoyable. The hotel is well located and is an excellent choice for anyone visiting the city. I highly recommend this hotel for both a comfortable stay and for exploring the surrounding attractions. Thank you to the entire team for their warm hospitality. I would be happy to stay here again in the future.
