Our stay at Marlin Waterloo in London was wonderful! In terms of transportation, we took the Stansted Express from STN Airport (using the mobile QR code) to Liverpool Street Station (47 minutes), then transferred to the tube and got off at Lambeth North Station, which is less than a 2-minute walk to the hotel. However, there is a section at that station with no elevator, requiring you to carry your luggage. If you want to avoid lifting bags, you can choose to walk a bit further from the major Waterloo Station (about a 9-minute walk). The hotel's location is fantastic—within walking distance to the London Eye, Big Ben, and Westminster Abbey, and we also frequently rode the double-decker buses which offer great views. Downstairs is a Sainsbury's supermarket along with several eateries, making daily life super convenient. The room exceeded our expectations (23 sqm Garden View). The bedding was excellent: the double room comes with four pillows and a large duvet, and although the mattress is made of two double beds pushed together and leans on the softer side, the good news is that it doesn't disturb the other person's sleep. There are plenty of outlets in the room (the ones near the large mirror and TV are great for using a hairdryer), extra big and thick bath towel, and it's equipped with an iron, a safe, a sofa, an office chair, a regular chair, and two small stools, making the space setup very thoughtful. Amenities also include free and stable Wi-Fi, air conditioner, a small fridge, microwave, dishwasher, tableware, kettle, coffee power and tea bag. The 24-hour free self-service laundry room in the basement (featuring 3 washing machines and 3 dryers, with laundry detergent provided at the front desk) is a huge plus! A few minor drawbacks: the shower room does not have a fully enclosed glass door, so water easily splashes and wets the floor; the soundproofing between rooms is quite poor, so guests should be respectful and keep their voices down; and for a first-floor room facing Westminster Bridge Road, you will hear some motorcycle noise and muffled railway sounds, though the soundproofing is decent enough that it isn't too bothersome. Although the self-service check-in system was glitchy, the hotel has friendly and very helpful real receptionists, and after 10:00 PM you can enter with a key card while a staff member is still on duty all night. Overall, the location and convenience are unbeatable, and I highly recommend it!

This is my first time at Marlin Waterloo after hearing soo many good things about it, now wishing I went sooner! I went with a few friends and we all bought a selection of cocktails. The standard and love put into each drink was really felt in each sip. We were hosted by a gentleman named Sezai. His hospitality was perfection, not a single fault I can say about his service. He was attentive and met our every request, I would come back just to be serviced by him. It truly felt like he was an old friend. I would highly urge you to visit this bar, you will not regret it!
Wouldnt recommend, its fine for a short stay but anything longer than a few days i'd look for smth else. Even thought the hotel wasnt build that long ago it all seems old, the lobby is the only place that looks modern but neither the floors nor the rooms feel new and both have this kind of dirty old hotel feel. My room wasnt proberly cleaned when i entered for the first time at all, there were crumbs on the floor, spilled drink from the previous guests behind the desk and there were hairs left everywhere. This mediocre cleaning continued throughout my stay. The room is overall designed in a stupid way and is not fitting at all for anything above a 2 day stay. There are 4 sets of cutlery and plates etc but there wouldnt even be nearly enough space for 2 people to comfortably eat, I dont understand who came up with the idea of putting a kitchen in the room in the first place (maybe to partly justify some of the absurd prices). The bathroom is also designed in a very dumb way, the shower for some reason has no door and no matter how hard you try its impossible to take a good shower without getting half of the bathroom wet, this wouldnt be as bad if the bathroom was a bit more sanitary but i found that if you dont clean all of the water from the floor after showering theres a high chance you'll have a silver fish in there the next morning. Also the toilet I had leaks a bit after flushing which ofc increases the chance of a silver fish visit further. Theres no toilet brush and the cleaning service doesnt really bother cleaning the toilet either. The trash is absurdly small so you better bring an external bag to throw in your waste. Also the free laundry room/ washing machine for guests is a joke. Yes, the washing machine is free but since there are no possibilities to dry your clothes otherwise you must also use the tumbler which is insane 6£ per use, i guess this subsidizes the free washing machine. Overall wouldnt recommend for any stay longer than 2 days, the price is insane for what you're getting. The few good things are the bed which i found very comfortable and the staff in the lobby who is very nice.
Absolutely loved our stay at Merlin Waterloo Apartments. The apartment was beautifully kept, incredibly clean, and felt like a real home away from home. Everything was tidy, fresh, and well maintained, which made such a difference after busy days exploring London. The apartment had plenty of space, a comfortable layout, and all the essentials we needed for a relaxing stay. It was clear that attention to detail and cleanliness are a priority here. The location was perfect too — close to Waterloo Station with great connections around the city, while still being a comfortable and quiet place to return to. We had a really enjoyable experience and would happily choose Merlin Waterloo Apartments again on our next visit to London. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a clean, comfortable, and convenient stay.
Charged for early check-in even though the room was ready. Charged for breakfast, coffee machine was broken and breakfast had to be booked a whole day before you planned to eat there. Booked a room for 3 guests, whole hotel only has 1 bed and a small pull out couch, that you will have to make yourself. Had to call and wait for sheets and blankets to be brought up. They didn’t bring pillow so we had to call and began getting ready for the evening. Took them over two hours to bring up one pillow. AC DOES NOT work, won’t even stay on while u leave the key. I understand that they don’t need this all the time, but they do not have any air circulation, not even a fan in the room. I called around approximately 12am for some water bottles to be charged and brought up to the room, I was told “the bar is closed, but you can walk 10 minutes down the street and buy some waters at a random convenience store”. Showers and small, with no fan/ ventilation. The only positive thing about this hotel, is it is fairly conveniently located and most of the staff were friendly. Not helpful, but nice people. Would not recommend staying here if you want any modern conveniences, like A/C or any air circulation, offering you bottles of water upon arrival, or having your bed already made up for your third guest when you arrive. This hotel charges modern prices without providing the modern amenities…..
