The room itself was fine, but my stay was significantly disrupted by a malfunctioning fire alarm that went off repeatedly — including in the middle of the night, waking me from sleep, and during the day while I was working remotely. What disappointed me most, however, was the way this was handled. The hotel offered a 25% refund as compensation, but never actually processed it. When I followed up after 10+ working days with no refund received, I was told it had been “processed and settled” — yet Booking.com later confirmed that no agreement had been reached with the hotel on my behalf. In the end, Booking.com stepped in and offered a voucher of equivalent value, for which I am grateful. But the hotel’s conduct — making a refund promise to placate a guest, then failing to follow through — was dishonest and deeply disappointing. I would caution future guests: if any issue arises during your stay, do not rely on the hotel to honour their commitments. Deal directly with the booking platform instead.

Wherever you stay there's a trade off. Lamington have apartments located across numerous buildings in the Hammersmith Grove area. Most of these, if not all, are old houses. So sound insulation is not of hotel standard. And there is no air con - which means some of the apartments become too hot to stay in comfortably when temperatures rise, despite the addition of fans. We stayed in three separate apartments during our five night stay last week when it was around 28c. The first was unusable as it was way too hot even with fans. The reception staff are well aware of these issues and did everything they could to reallocate us. The second two apartments were cooler. However their ability to do this is obviously limited by availability. It is also worth highlighting that the visuals used to market garden apartments on platforms such as booking are not representative, by definition, as there are lots of different garden apartments, all with varying outdoor spaces. Of the three I stayed in none had the outdoor space I thought I was booking. Some might find this misleading. On the upside, the staff were excellent and did what they could to help. They also shuttled our luggage from apartment to apartment for us. The location is excellent. Hammersmith Grove has a leafy London village vibe, transport links are great and there are loads of bars and restaurants on hand. The apartments themselves are also clean, refurbished, well maintained, well furnished and well equipped. Their main advantage is they offer more floor space than a comparably priced hotel room. Kitchens mean guests can self cater. And if you book a garden apt you also get some sort of private outdoor space - none of which would be available in a hotel. So like I said, it's a trade off. More space indoors and out and your own front door in a nice area with character versus no air con or sound proofing. I used to live in a garden flat in Hammersmith so to me it felt like coming home. And if I could guarantee the flat I was staying in, rather than being allocated whatever is available, I would stay again. Other guests though might find the lack of air con and sound proofing a turn off.
There is no one when you arrive. It looks like a house but creepy. The corridors are all pitch dark and narrow. I had to drag my suitcase up about 10 flights of narrow dark curling stairs. I was scared the whole time. I would not recommend anyone to stay here!!
good location, .. smooth checkin.. newly renovated beautiful apartment (big size kitchen, good size clean washrooms), clean linen, .. very nice views from all aprtment windows, grocery and essentials shops nearby, very good and prompt service and staff (right from the bellboys who were very cooperative and ofcourse Emma and Nicolletta at the reception were great and awesome) .. highly recommend, very comfortable stay.. must try especially when travelling with toddlers/young kids and big families
I am surprised by the space I got, much better than the hotel. And it got all the facilities and kitchen appliances, suitable for both short and long term stays. Great location, The apartment is nice and warm inside, there is a lovely garden on the back! I had some incident with the boiler, but it was fixed the next morning, and the stuff are also nice and helpful! Highly recommend and Will definitely choose here for my next business trip.
