I didn't think the flat deserved 4 stars but would have been happy at 3.5. We stayed in flat 2. Originally it was to be flat 6 however after finding out there was no lift guest services was very accommodating. For tourists it would help if this was stated on the listings as the steep narrow stairs and no elevator are very common in older British properties. Typical side street just a couple of blocks to tube and buses. The area is extremely quiet, and super convenient, and when you are in a large city there maybe some garbage or street noise. Flat was very clean and the kitchen fully outfitted. Hot water, heat were fine. No mould. Overall decent, slightly expensive, but it's London. As we were four for four nights there were not enough towels, one large on small per person and the WiFi, despite a booster that appeared to be working , was extremely slow and did cut out. Beds were clean and comfortable, although one bedroom you couldn't get to the other side of the bed. There was an iron, board, hair dryer, but no coffee maker just instant coffee. Customer service was fantastic. Alisha was very prompt in responding and so was guest services.

Flat 6 is horrific!! Narrow steep flights of stairs, 6 lots and I pulled my hip climbing them with a heavy suitcase. No heat and broken boiler, so given heaters. Boiler lasted a few hours and then broke boiler again, very cold. Dirty damaged bath, bad customer reservation staff (alisha) who said I knew there was no lift so that’s on me. Very neglected
We stayed at Flat 2, 116-118 Chancery Lane, London, WC2A 1 PP Overall, my stay at the apartment in London was a mixed experience. The apartment itself was beautifully furnished, and its location couldn't have been better. However, there were some significant drawbacks that ultimately detracted from the overall enjoyment of my stay. Firstly, there was a noticeable smell of mold in the basement where the bedrooms were located. This was quite off-putting and made it difficult to fully relax in the space. Additionally, the fact that the windows could only be opened partially was a disappointment. This lack of proper ventilation exacerbated the issue with the mold smell and made the rooms feel stuffy. Furthermore, the view from the bedroom windows onto the neighboring restaurant's backyard, filled with trash bins, was less than ideal. Throughout the day and into the night, there was constant noise from the emptying of these bins, particularly the loud clattering of glass. This made it challenging to get a good night's sleep, and I couldn't help but worry about the possibility of rodents gaining access through the windows, especially during the warmer months. In summary, while the apartment had its merits in terms of aesthetics and location, the issues with mold, ventilation, and noise from the neighboring businesses significantly detracted from the overall experience. It's a shame because with some attention to these issues, it could have been a much more enjoyable stay.
If you like urine smell then you are in the right place
No Lifts so if you carry luggage then it's an issue. The taps are leaky and interiors and scratched and wornouts. No much for cutleries. Good TV and kitchen job if you are cooking.
