##Update after 2nd stay (September 2026)## We stayed at the Hilton London Bankside for three weeks in September 2026. While we previously enjoyed a wonderful family stay here, this trip with my teenage daughter unfortunately fell short of our expectations. Location & Amenities: The location is absolutely central and ideal for reaching all major sights and the West End. The breakfast buffet was also very good. However, our room experience was lacking: we received a basic Twin Room on the lowest floor with a view of a dirty courtyard. The TV was unreliable, as streaming services and HDMI capabilities vanished after software updates. On a positive note, the room was perfectly clean, quiet, and the Wi-Fi worked flawlessly. The gym is small but well-equipped, and the pool is wonderfully long and wasn't crowded (note that there is no SPA). Executive Lounge & Facilities: The lounge is beautifully furnished and conveniently located. Unfortunately, it was always kept far too cold. The evening food offering ran on a repetitive 3-day cycle for a whole month with practically no meat options—my daughter couldn't find anything she liked. The drink selection, however, was extensive. There was constant construction going on; while the noise didn't bother us much, the fact that almost never were all three elevators working caused significant delays. We ended up taking the stairs most of the time. Also, it was a pity to see that the kid-friendly amenities from August (like play-food and kid-friendly lounge meals) were completely replaced by a business setup. Service & Hilton Honors Recognition: As a Hilton Honors Diamond member, the recognition was very disappointing. There was no personal welcome—not even a card—and despite multiple requests, we did not receive a room upgrade. Only the bare minimum benefits (breakfast and lounge access) were provided. Housekeeping was fantastic and perfectly accommodated our requests to clean the room during our lunch hours. The concierge, however, was unhelpful: instead of simply mailing our postcards, they directed us to a shop that didn't even sell international stamps, forcing us to go searching elsewhere. Conclusion: In contrast to our previous stay in a lovely family room, a multi-week stay for two simply didn't pay off this time. Because the lounge food was so weak, we had to eat out anyway. We would have been better off booking a significantly cheaper hotel in a similar location. What a pity. ##Former review (August 2026) We recently stayed at the Hilton London Bankside as a family of four (my wife, our two daughters 13y & 3y old) and had a wonderful experience. First of all, we received a very warm and personal welcome, which was highly appreciated after a long journey. The hotel is exceptionally child-friendly! Our youngest was thrilled with the Moomin theme, which included a great play corner and movies shown in the lobby. Our family room was perfectly prepared with adorable fox-themed bedding and a matching cuddly toy. It was also refreshing to see that children are genuinely welcome (and well-represented) at the breakfast buffet, in the lounge, and in the beautiful pool area. The hotel is certainly high-priced, but given the fantastic location and the excellent service, we felt the price was absolutely justified. There are only a few neutral to negative points to mention regarding the facilities: The gym is quite small and lacks a variety of strength equipment (for example, there is no leg press); it is mostly focused on cardio machines. Additionally, it is a bit of a pity that there is no wellness area or sauna available to relax in. As a final note: I have just returned to the hotel with my older daughter for a second stay, and I will make sure to update this review once our current visit is complete!

Reviews
We stayed at Hilton Bankside for almost a month in August. We chose this hotel after extensive research as we were going to be at the hotel for a few weeks and ended up picking this hotel because of the amazing reviews on being family friendly. We selected the adjoining rooms for our 2 girls and this quickly became one of their favourite hotels! The fox theme was a huge hit, they loved the fox themed room, goody bags, scavenger hunt, and the Moomin theme play area. The breakfast buffet had a nice selection of baked goods, salad bar, fruits, egg station, pancake/waffle station, and more (the candy bar was a huge hit with the kids!). As we were diamond members, we also had access to the lounge, which actually allowed children (unlike other hilton hotels we have been to) and they had drinks and canapes in the evenings. There is a big pool, gym and spa, which I find rare in London due to space. The rooms were modern and more spacious than the hotels that you would get in London and the room service was very attentive. The rooms were cleaned regularly and when we encountered an issue with our room that was quickly resolved when we spoke to the front desk. The location was nice as it was walking distance to the Tate Modern Museum, Borough Market, several grocery stores and restaurants, riverwalk along the thames, and even a few tube stations. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and a special thanks to Miro who made sure when we arrived we were comfortable and even brought a small dessert for our daughter's birthday; Julia who always welcomed us at breakfast and ensured our issues were resolved and many other staff members that we could not remember their names but were lovely to our kids (the staff at the lounge, guest services and cleaning staff). Having stayed for almost a month, we can confidently recommend this hotel to those travelling with families, especially little ones (they have set high expectations to our future travels). Thank you so much to the staff at Bankside Hilton!
We had a great stay here! We had two connecting rooms to share with our kids, and everyone had plenty of space. The rooms felt large for London and were well-equipped with coffee/tea-making machines and a mini fridge. We were fortunate to have breakfast included with our stay, and it is an excellent value. The people working in the restaurant are so friendly and accommodating, and there are plenty of options for all dietary needs. The pool was also a highlight for the kids, as it is quite large and a comfortable temperature. We found this location to be ideal, it's in a quieter part of town but close to stops on both the Jubilee and Circle/District/Thameslink lines, so it was easy to get anywhere on the Tube. The kids have already decided we are coming back to this hotel!
Although we only stayed here for one night, it made an excellent impression. The location is fantastic. It’s close to several Underground stations, making it easy to get anywhere in London, while still being in the quieter Bankside area. We really appreciated being able to escape the crowds after a busy day of sightseeing while still having quick access to the city’s main attractions. Many major sights are also within a comfortable walking distance. The hotel itself was outstanding. The staff at the front desk were welcoming, helpful, and accommodating throughout our stay, and the bartender was especially friendly when we stopped by later in the evening. The property feels very upscale, with excellent service and a polished atmosphere from the moment you arrive. Even with our short stay, it was clear this is a hotel that takes pride in the guest experience. I would absolutely stay here again and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for a high-end hotel in a great location in London.
Similar issues in Hilton hotels. Housekeepers services surely understaffed and rooms not in the right cleaning standards. Positives In this Hotel: - fantastic customer service - all staff ready to help and always friendly attitude - Mihael top man - Decent breakfast What we noticed in our room: - white seminal fluid up to the headboard - finger prints and other disgusting things up to the headboard - hairs and stains marks up the top mattress - noisy mattresses! coil springs screech and annoying you during the night. We liked to stay at the 7th floor and we asked at the reception to clean properly the room and we’ll be back in two hours. Once back the room was even worse than the beginning. Spread disgusting stuff up to the headboard and someone walked up to our bed without change the covers. What a mess!!! Again going down to the guest desk and complaining again. At the end when we were inside the room two housekeepers became to clean. They offered an upgrade but when checked the other rooms looks like in the same conditions (marks and stains up to the headboards). A day after they offered to move in a better room but we refused because we didn’t want to spend our journey complaining about this or that. We decided to stay in The cleaned room. How was our stay? Bit conflicting but if we’ll be back I’ll surely let them know in advance to check properly our room because we like top specs of cleanliness.
