He was such a lovely person and went above and beyond to make sure we had an amazing breakfast. His warm hospitality really made our mornings special. Overall, we had a fantastic experience, and I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting London for the first time. Looking forward to staying here again!

Really wanted to rate this property higher, but feels disingenuous to do so. I’m a Hyatt Globalist and booked through the Amex Fine Hotels and Resorts program, so had high expectations for this property… unfortunately our experience was decidedly average at best. When we arrived, we were informed of a room upgrade. Attaching pics of our view from the first floor… this is the interior of the hotel wheee the rubbish and recycling bins are housed. Through the day and night, that meant we’d hear and see the rubbish and recycling being taken out, sorted, and hauled away. All are very noisy. Also right at our window was the smoking/vaping area for the staff, so imagine my shock opening my window to see people at eye level. 😳 We also requested a housekeeping refresh and didn’t receive it. I then tried to call twice for new towels and couldn’t get through to anyone, so had to go down to the front desk and request. Thats unacceptable for a hotel of this tier. The staff were otherwise very lovely and helpful thought around the bar, restaurant, front desk, and lobby. It’s not that this was a bad stay per se, but it certainly didn’t meet its promise and hence the “middle of the road” ranking for this review.
I’m not sure where to start - this was the hotel for a dream vacation! The front office staff was SO incredibly nice and responsive. I had planned this trip for my husband’s birthday, and they were able to get us baked surprise goodies at the last minute to the room seamlessly. We especially want to thank Lara who recognized us from the correspondence, kept the secret during check in, and was very helpful to us. Really, all of the office staff was incredible. Additionally, the breakfast is amazing! We loved having Muhammed as our server every morning, he was always so kind and such a pleasant person to talk to. He also always went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable and having a good start to the day. Constantin also gave us a great tour on our first day, and he continued to say hi and remember us while being helpful throughout the week, which was very appreciated. Overall- the stay was amazing it’s quiet, comfortable, a BEAUTIFUL room/hotel, and the staff really help make you feel comfortable and add to the experience. I would highly recommend staying here!
Long overdue review from 2021. We were in London for business reasons. Couldn’t be bothered to travel home, so checked into Great Scotland Yard. The whole experience was amazing from check-in to check-out. The staff were warm and welcoming; they made our stay extra special by adding little touches. They have wooden keycards instead of plastic. The rooms are finished to a high degree of comfort. The onsite bar has lovely cocktails. We had breakfast, which was delicious. The hotel is in a good location. Wish I had taken more photos, but I hadn’t started doing reviews.
I can’t say enough good things about the Great Scotland Yard Hotel. From the moment we arrived, every single member of the staff we interacted with was genuinely warm, welcoming, and attentive. They made us feel less like guests and more like extended family—without any of the family drama! Our room was beautiful: modern, exceptionally comfortable, filled with natural light, and equipped with plenty of convenient outlets. The shower was fantastic and exactly what you want after a day of exploring London. Breakfast each morning was outstanding. I’m still thinking about the incredible sourdough bread and honestly wish I could have packed a few loaves to take home. We also spent time in both hotel bars, and they were highlights of our stay. The bartenders were incredibly talented, creating inventive, perfectly balanced cocktails that could easily compete with some of London’s best craft cocktail bars. We were only here for two nights before boarding a cruise, but I could have happily stayed much longer. The location is ideal, with several transportation options just a short walk away, making it easy to explore the city. And for Harry Potter fans, there’s an unexpected bonus: the famous “secret entrance to the Ministry of Magic” from the films is right across the street! This hotel exceeded our expectations in every way. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting London.
