Very very very old hotel. The rooms are so old, the carpet was giving up, the furniture was older than my grandfather. And they gave us underground rooms with half windows to the streets which were dark. Said no rooms available to change, disappointed. When we got back in the evening, we saw a suspicious turd in the toilet bowl?? Like someone didn’t flush properly and none of us pooped that day, which was so creepy. Or maybe it’s the old pipes, what do I know. But we chose it for the walkable distance to the British Museum. Yes you can pop in everyday. There’re some shops and bookstores literally next street which was great.

DO NOT STAY HERE!! If I could give a 0 star review I would. The stay started off strong as the hotels location is in central London...and that's about as good as it got. Got into the room and it was BOILING, there's absolutely no air conditioning, all that was provided was 2 old broken fans that just blew around hot air and dust. Trying to sleep the first night was torture and when we asked for another/working fan we were basically told no, too bad and go away. Eventually fell asleep only to be woken up to BED BUGS crawling on us. Immediately went back down to reception and was told "oh no they're not bed bugs"....sir I don't care if they're lady bugs, there's still bugs in our beds!! They then moved us to one of their sister hotels on the same road but wanted us to leave our belongings in the bed bug riddled room until the morning and walk to the new hotel BARE FOOT, at 3am, as they didn't want to wait for us to pack. The new room was still boiling hot but no bed bugs in sight, however the room was smaller than our original room (we had two double beds in the first room and only one double bed in the room they moved us to) which was fine as we just wanted a clean room but they have refused to offer us a partial refund for the room size difference. Outside of our main issues with the hotel, the rooms are really run down, windows don't open properly, carpet and bed linen are full of stains and the staff were extremely rude and dismissive. Save your money, do not stay here or in their sister hotels!!!
DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL!!! Total scam: - the room was not only "not cleaned", it was NEVER cleaned: flocks of hairy dust over bed headboard, on the metal fan, on every window frame, on nightstands, TV furniture stand - EVERYWHERE. - hotel staff totally does not care about you or your complaints: the receptionist wrote down the issues and... did nothing. After the morning "room clean up" no dust was wiped. ZERO issues were fixed - faucet handle was broken, bathtub - chipped, faucet filter nozzle - broken, bathroom countertop had a finger-width hole. NO AC IN ROOMS - you will die if it's over 25C outdoors. It's a prehistoric times hotel in the center of London. Yet, they did not forget to install AC in the reception zone (for themselves :). It's simply a joke of a hotel, total scam. DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL. Do not support scam with your money
We was booked into grange Buckingham but for whatever reason was put into one of the other hotels, wasn't the best Pretty dirty, especially the shower ironically, bed was like cardboard, but i guess it done the job
We stayed at this hotel for a total of 7 days. The cleanliness, location, and service were very good. The building is very old, but there is no mold or dampness, which is generally the case in this area. It's 5-6 minutes from bus stops and 7 minutes from Holborn metro station, making the location particularly excellent. A cot was arranged for a baby. Looking at the downsides, it's definitely not a 4-star hotel; it could get a maximum of 3 stars. The walls are very thin, but the street is quiet, so noise could be a problem. Even though we knew we were coming back in 2 days, they didn't allow us to leave a small suitcase, which I don't think was a fair approach. I would like to thank the staff; they were very helpful despite the language barrier.
