Upon checking into our hotel, we noticed a distinct fragrance in our room that seemed intended to mask another odor. Within an hour, I began experiencing difficulty breathing, which was particularly concerning because I am allergic to mold. After inspecting the room, we noticed several spots on the ceiling that appeared to resemble mold. While I cannot confirm that it was mold, I wanted to share this experience so other travelers are aware of the potential concern. We were staying in Room 845, on a floor that was undergoing construction. I would encourage future guests staying on this floor, particularly in this room, to thoroughly inspect their accommodations upon arrival. On a positive note, when we raised our concerns with the front desk, the staff promptly moved us to another room, which was in normal condition. We appreciated their responsiveness and willingness to accommodate us.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We had an amazing stay at the Crowne Plaza King’s Cross. Abu went above and beyond to make us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. He was friendly, professional, and incredibly helpful throughout our stay. Nothing was too much trouble, and his excellent customer service really made a difference to our experience. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and in a great location, but Abu’s outstanding hospitality was the highlight of our visit. He is a real credit to the hotel, and we will definitely be returning. Thank you, Abu, for making our stay so memorable!
I’ve stayed at this hotel three times now, and each time was great! The receptionists are always happy to help, especially with booking taxi’s. The breakfast buffet is my dads personal favourite, and it was very easy to order Uber eats as the drivers always came to the entrance of the hotel and I think they actually dropped it off at reception once. You’re able to leave your bags in a private room if you arrive before check in, or if you’re checking out and don’t travel till later, then the same can be done. Beds are comfy in my opinion but I always think it’s impossible to say because everyone has their unique preferences when it comes to that. It is close to King’s Cross station if you’re able to walk, if not then I’d advise getting a taxi there, it’s usually about £7-8 when we do get one. There are plenty of corner shops around the hotel. And it’s all at a reasonable price considering it’s in London!
I guess it all depends on the rate you pay. My room was clean, comfortable and I slept well. Don’t stay here just because it has a lounge. The evening ‘snacks’ are very poor (cheap quality) and the drink options are basic. When I went to enter the lounge, which is situated on ground level, just off from reception, my card didn’t work, even though when I checked in I was told my card would give me access. A quick trip to reception quickly solved the problem. I did have a couple of appetizers in the bar area one evening, and whilst staff were very friendly, the appetizers were Iceland quality = poor defrosted, deep fried 'korean' chicken and calamari. Breakfast was 'OK'. Not the greatest quality, but plenty of choice and nothing was terrible. As I stated previously, I guess how much you enjoy your stay will depend on what rate you pay.
We recently stayed at Crowne Plaza London – Kings Cross by IHG with our family and had an overall very pleasant experience. The hotel is well located, clean, and comfortable, making it a great choice for families visiting London. The rooms were well maintained and met our expectations for a Crowne Plaza property. One small area for improvement was the absence of porter service. We had multiple bags, and it would have been helpful to have assistance transferring our luggage from reception to the rooms, especially after a long journey. On a very positive note, Siddhant and Aakifa truly stood out during our breakfasts. They were warm, attentive, and consistently provided excellent customer service every morning. Their friendly attitude and willingness to help made our breakfast experience enjoyable and set a great tone for the day. Overall, it was a good stay, and with a few minor improvements, it could be even better. We would certainly consider staying here again.
