An Absolutely World-Class Reef, Five-Star Food, and Exceptional Hospitality! Our stay at Komodo Resort was absolutely incredible, and we cannot recommend it highly enough! The house reef is truly world-class and, without a doubt, the best reef we have ever seen. The corals are incredibly healthy, vibrant, and full of life. On our very first day, we spotted eagle rays, a four-foot sea turtle, pufferfish, and even a baby blacktip reef shark! Having such an extraordinary reef right at the resort was a highlight of our entire trip. Beyond the snorkeling, everything else exceeded our expectations. The food was genuinely five-star, and we thoroughly enjoyed every single meal. The service was a perfect 10/10, the views from our room were breathtaking, and the pool was exceptional. What truly made our stay unforgettable, though, was the staff. The general manager went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable and well taken care of. He even arranged massages for my wife and me and made my wife’s birthday extra special by organizing a beautiful table and a birthday cake. These thoughtful personal touches made us feel genuinely welcomed and cared for. Komodo Resort and Diving Club offers the perfect combination of world-class marine life, outstanding food, beautiful surroundings, and genuinely exceptional hospitality. Whether you are visiting Komodo for diving, snorkeling, or simply to relax, this place is a gem. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Komodo. An unforgettable experience from beginning to end!

We had an amazing stay at Komodo Resort and Diving Club. The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always willing to help with anything we needed. The tour guides were excellent, making every excursion enjoyable and memorable. One of the highlights was the beautiful coral reef located right in front of the resort. The crystal clear water, vibrant marine life, and breathtaking views made snorkeling an unforgettable experience. This place wad one of the highlights of our trip to Indonesia. We highly recommend Komodo Resort and Diving Club to anyone looking for an exceptional island getaway.
Very nice diversity in the dives. Christina the head of the dive center is incredible! She is patient and really caring - we had one person who just passed her open water license before we got here. We were really concerned but Christina totally reassured us. Now she wants to head back for her advance course with Christina. Christina even took incredible footage with our DJI! The rest of the dive team also explained each dive clearly and made the trip very nice. Shout out to Putra who's apparently a trainee but was super enthusiastic to take us for snorkeling at the reef! We did a second day with him cos we enjoyed so much. Food menu could have more local options for breakfast but overall they had a good variety of food choices. Biggest shout out to Ovan the dining staff who made our day everyday with his smile --- small details like remembering our food choices etc -- he made every meal a happy one. Overall we had the best time and will be back soon. Thank u esp to the creatures who granted us with their amazing presence :)
This was our second stay at Komodo Resort, and overall we had a wonderful time. We also brought 10 family members with us this trip, booking multiple beachfront bungalows in addition to our own room. The biggest highlight remains the house reef. It is truly spectacular and one of the best reasons to stay here. We snorkeled every day, did the night snorkeling excursion, and saw an incredible variety of marine life. Several members of our family are not typically “beach people” and had never snorkeled before, yet they absolutely loved it. If you love snorkeling, diving, coral reefs, and marine life, this place is hard to beat. We were also fortunate to have excellent weather throughout our stay. The Japanese food options were surprisingly good and a welcome addition. The resort itself felt somewhat improved compared to our previous visit. The amenities continue to get better, although the non-renovated beach bungalows still feel rustic for the price point. We were told major renovations are planned, which should be a positive change. Where the resort continues to struggle is communication and operations. Breakfast was disappointing. We traveled 26 hours specifically to visit Indonesia and were surprised by the lack of Indonesian breakfast options. The menu was heavily focused on Western breakfast items. Adding more authentic Indonesian choices would significantly improve the guest experience. We also experienced multiple communication issues. Several family members attempted to book spa appointments and were repeatedly sent back and forth between the spa and front desk. When they finally arrived for their treatments, the spa had no record of their appointments. I experienced a similar issue myself, arriving for a scheduled treatment only to find that the staff were unaware of my booking. Unfortunately, our biggest frustration occurred at checkout. When settling our room charges, the front desk informed me that my card had declined. I then checked my credit card account and saw a charge that appeared to have already gone through. Because of the time difference between Indonesia and the United States, the transaction date was confusing, and I believed the charge was for our diving activities. After showing the transaction to the staff I said “oh look the diving charges went through no problem my card shouldn’t decline” to the front desk, they re-ran my card for the room charges and advised that the payment had gone through successfully. So I was under the impression everything was settled. After we had already left the resort, we were contacted and told that the diving charges had not actually been paid. This came as a complete surprise because I believed the matter had already been resolved at checkout. What followed was several days of back-and-forth communication while we were trying to enjoy the next part of our vacation. I was happy to pay any legitimate balance owed, but I was disappointed that I was ultimately required to use a payment method that included additional fees. Given the confusion surrounding the original transaction, I felt the situation could have been handled more fairly, especially as a returning guest who brought multiple family members and booked several rooms. The staff are friendly and the reef is world class, but for the rates charged, I believe the resort needs stronger internal communication, more consistent guest service procedures, and a smoother billing process. Would we return? Probably yes, because the snorkeling and diving are that special. However, guests should come prepared for a more rustic, adventure-focused experience rather than a polished luxury resort experience. If your priority is an incredible reef and unforgettable marine life, Komodo Resort delivers. If your priority is seamless luxury service, there is still room for improvement.
We spent an amazing 6 days here, recently and would highly recommend. We stayed in a beach front bungalow and it was perfect - quiet and effective AC, large bathroom, king sized bed, porch looking out on to a stunning view. The food was wonderful - I’m vegetarian and had plenty of choice. The staff were so helpful, friendly and attentive. The diving was phenomenal - such dense biodiversity! We saw mantas on most dives and turtles on all dives. There are still sharks here, and such a broad and plentiful range of fish species. What a treat. And what a blast we had!! Note: currents can be strong, so some fitness and comfort with drift dives is necessary. Having said that, dive briefs were inclusive of this info and we were well looked after. Thank you for having us! 😃☀️🐠🇮🇩🙏
