This was a wonderful day. Our tour guide Lettie was super knowledgeable and gave us all the interesting history of the chateaus. The wine tasting in Amboise was wonderful too. Learned so much about wine that I previously did not know. Enjoyed the wines and the lunch. You do travel in a small van for a good part of the day so hopefully you like your fellow tour mates. Also the high speed train from Paris gets you in about 15 minutes prior to your tour time which is perfect as long as the train is not delayed…so that part was a little stressful.

The Chateau of Chenonceau is the most visited castle in the Loire Valley. It is unique for many reasons. It is nicknamed "the ladies chateau" because Its owners had only been women. It has gorgeous Renaissance gardens. It is set like a bridge across the Cher River.
You will enjoy a guided tou and wine tating at Caves Duhard where you will have a cheese and wine tasting in a limestone cave winery on white wines
You will discover the Hunting lodge built by King Francois I, it is the largest chateau and the most spectacular piece of architecture. You will be impressed by its 426 rooms and its 282 fireplaces. Your tour guide will show and explain it's mind blowing double helix staircase, probably a Leonardo da Vinci creation. The forest in which it is in is a national game reserve.

Our guide, Laurency, really gave our group a great overview of the history, people, and architecture for two of France’s most beautiful chateaux! The included wine tasting was also very informative. As I mentioned, a must do excursion for anyone visiting the Loire region.
This was a great tour, blending history, wine tasting and delicious food in one day long tour. Kilian kept us informed with his wealth of knowledge. Transportation was clean and comfortable and the whole day was just so enjoyable! We love Viator! Beth Kauffman
Very informative with the extensive detail. Our tour guide, Geraldine, was very knowledgeable, friendly, worm, and accommodating!
It was interesting tour. . We would prefer a different gaude. This tour is about history and architecture.
What do you do in Amboise? Visit Chateaus, of course. And enjoy some excellent Loire valley wines. This tour was a great way to do it all in 9 hours. Kyllian was an outstanding guide. He is a real student of the history of the area in general and of the chateaus specifically. He answered questions about the kings, the architecture, the art work, and the gardens with ease and authority. I highly recommend the tour, and our excellent tour guide.
The tour guide and the sites were great! The wine tasting was very informative, with small samples of quite a few wines. Communication to the tour operator and guide were very good before and during the tour. I feel they went the extra mile to overcome some challenges to make sure that the tour went well for everyone. My only complaint is that I'd like to have had a little more time at the chateaux, but we were also running a little late due to unavoidable circumstances, so there may be more time on other tours
Our guide was so friendly and knowledgeable about the history of the chateaus we visited, which were absolutely GORGEOUS!
Outstanding experience with a very informative guide, kyllian was an absolute treat and was a wealth of historical knowledge. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a comfortable fun tour experience.
Kyllian was a great travel guide making the day a wonderful experience. The amount of knowledge he was able to share in one day at the castles was incredible. What a great day would recommend if you are considering.
Professional, friendly and extremely knowledgeable guide who lead a fun -filled day. Gertrude welcomed us warmly and off we went in a great van and and her expert driving took us through the Loire Valley. Gertrude went above and beyond in covering the background, history and architecture of each site. She was known by employees of the chateaus, shortcuts to sites and provided cold water!
These are amazing chateau’s and should definitely be seen. Our guide brought the history to life and made the day so fun!
Laurence was such an amazing tour guide. She was, kind, fun and very informative. My son and I learned a lot and really enjoyed every second of our tour.
Leticia was a lovely guide/driver for the most beautiful chateaux of the Loire Valley, Chenonceaux and Chambord, plus Vouvray wine tasting. She was very knowledgeable, friendly and punctual. I highly recommend this tour.
Laurence was a wonderful tour guide who had a genuine love of the history she was explaining and she was also very funny. We also really enjoyed the wine tasting at Ambacia Caves. Highly recommended!
Our tour guide, Geraldine, was incredible! She was very helpful and knowledgeable. We enjoyed getting to know her while learning about the history of these beautiful chateaus. We also really loved the wine tasting experience and lunch at Caves Ambacia. We learned a lot about the wines of the region, and tasted some delicious samples!
Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and accomodating. The gardens were spectacular. Wine tasting was informative and delicious!
Laurence, our tour guide was a wonderful source of history and knowledge, but was also kind, playful and patient with us while we battled the heat. She even helped my son practice his French throughout the day! It was the experience of a lifetime!
The tours of Chateaux Chenonceau and Chambord were incredible. Our guide was awesome! She was very knowledgeable and so sweet. The wine tasting of the Caves Ambacia was very informative, but there was mass confusion about our lunch break. We only had one option to eat at the restaurant outside the wine tasting. We were rushed to eat our meal that was outrageous expensive. We paid $40.00 for a meal that we had maybe 15 minutes to eat. Needless to say, it left a bad taste in my mouth. I only had time to eat a few bites of food to pay $40.00. The tour director needs to rethink the timing of the wine tasting! Otherwise, we had a great experience!!
We had the pleasure of having the guide Geraldine. She was incredibly knowledgeable, charming, and a pleasure to spend time with. We greatly enjoyed both chateaus as well as the Caves Ambacia wine tasting experience. We would highly recommend this tour to others without qualification.
Our guide, Ingrid, made the day. Very personable, energetic, and full of knowledge to share. It is a long day. Lots of walking and stairs.
Beautiful day of discovery with a very knowledgeable guide.
I was with a small group, led by Ingrid. She was very knowledgeable and professional. She knew so much it was amazing. Worth every penny.
Ingrid was great, very knowledgeable and had a lot of insights about the chateaus. Yannis at the wine tasting educated me on wines in a entertaining way.
The Tour was delightful and the tours very well done. Tomas was a delight at the Caves wine education. Learned many tips about wine. Ingrid was a great tour guide. Loved her antidotes regarding the royals and the personalized treatment received.
This experience made me want to learn more French history. Ingrid's explanation of the French monarchy and the history of the chateaux were fascinating, and at times humorous. She highlighted the most interesting aspects of each château while also giving us a primer on French history and the monarchy. We had a little free time to explore each of the chateaux and the gardens on our own. The time in the caves was also an educational experience. We learned (and tasted) so much about the wines of the Loire Valley.
Our driver / guide by the name of Roxanne was not a pleasant person to be around. She was rude from the start to us as well as being rude to other people enquiring about their tours. While her knowledge was sound , instead of informing us it was like we were being interrogated about the information she gave. She obviously didn’t want to be working on the day as she informed us that she was filling in for a friend who was sick. We came away from this experience totally disappointed with TripAdvisor & will be very reluctant to use them in the future .
The itinerary was wonderful. Our guide not so much. She was unwelcoming, crude, and not terribly knowledgeable. The wine tour was a real highlight. The guide was everything she was not
Great tour. The chateaus are amazing and the information wines and lunch at the caves were top notch!
The Chateaux are amazing to see and quite different from each other. Our guide/driver didn’t use any amplification/microphone in the van so if you were sitting in the back you missed a lot of what she said. This was exacerbated by the fact that she didn’t turn off the radio. We haven’t had this issue in previous tours with mini vans of the same size. As a result, she shared little information while driving which was disappointing and a lost opportunity. A highlight was the wine tasting. The sommelier was fantastic and shared great information.
Despite some delays we got to visit everything on the itinerary and had a lot of fun trivia from our guide Marie. The day was sunny for the most part which helped. She knew where to take us to get good shots too. The wine tasting was unexpectedly bigger in tastings and that resulted in a fun experience with my group.
Roxanne, spoke fluid English, was very knowledgeable and lots of fun. We felt as if she was one of us and not the tour guide. It was a wonderful tour!!!!
It was too much crammed into one day. Maybe one chateau and a wine tasting would have allowed more time to really explore the chateau both with our wonderful guide, Ingrid, and also some time to explore the grounds on our own.
We had the most wonderful fun filled day with Ingrid and a fabulous family from the US who were also on our trip. Our first stop off was Chenonceau, which was just magnificent. Ingrid brought to life the history of the chateau and the men and women who fought and lusted over it. We got a huge dose of French history and some fascinating stories from Ingrid throughout the tour. The next stop was the winery and the caves for a wine tasting experience, enhanced by Francesco’s expertise, which was followed by a lovely lunch with our new friends. After lunch we headed to the next chateau, Chambord, which was even larger than the first. Again, Ingrid brought the history to life with her fabulous commentary, and fun facts. We finally refined to Amboise, with lots of restaurant recommendations, and the all important directions to the laundromat! Thanks Ingrid, you’re a lifesaver. Wish we had more tours with Ingrid but we will be off to Paris soon for other adventures. We had such a great time we are also hoping to stay in touch with our fellow tourers from the US😜
A good tour, impressive chateaux, and the winery experience was fabulous. The person who conducted the winery tour and tasting was knowledgeable and entertaining. Our main tour guide driver Marie was good, but she was very difficult to understand.
We had a wonderful tour yesterday! Our tour guide was Mary and she was excellent. Had a really good mix of history with the 2 castle tours along with a wine tasting and introduction to how it is made and the different subregions of the Loire Valley.
Full day of history and unforgettable chateau’s. Our guide, Marie, is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the region and the history. She is very engaging while making sure everyone in the group is enjoying the experience.
had a wonderful trip and was very lucky to be the only participant. The guide was a kind and knowledgeable lady who organized the schedule perfectly, shared many hidden stories behind the scenes, and even helped take photos for me. I would definitely recommend this experience.
Superb day with Cillian, a very knowledgeable guide, very funny and even challenging us with some quizzes after each visit. He was also great with our 7 years old who enjoyed the trip more than we would have hoped for! También en español!
Had an incredible day out visiting the Chateaux and wine tasting in Ambois. Roxane was a lovely tour guide and very knowledgable on the history of the Chateaux. The wine tour of the caves and tasting at Ambacia was fantastic and the lunch at the venue was even better.
Okay Ingrid - best tour guide ever. The combination of personality, information, stories and history. Brought our destinations to life. Thanks!
Killian was absolutely amazing. Super attentive, accommodating and a wealth of knowledge. He was detailed and loves the car ride trivia. We really enjoyed the trip and all of the information he provided at each site.
the tour was excellent the wine tour/tasting was my favorite part castles were amazing!! thanks to Freddy for all her knowledge
It was a really fun day, and pretty long? We had a great tour guide, Roxanne, who knew a lot and was very helpful when answering questions. I’d say for the price it is a bit surprising that lunch wasn’t included. Otherwise I’d give the tour 5/5.
We took a high speed train from Paris and met the tour guide and group in Tours, a little over an hour train ride. It was a spectacular day! Ingrid was our small group (7 in the mini-van plus Ingrid) guide and she was simply fantastic! She was quite knowledgeable and had a great sense of humor. The two chateau visits were very fun and educational and the wine tasting was one of the best we have ever experienced. Although we accomplished a lot, the pace did not seem too aggressive. I highly recommend this wonderful tour!
The guide was clearly inexperienced, lacked basic knowledge of the sites visited,, didn't communicate well. The timings on the trip were unbalanced.
Nice amount of time in each chateau and the wine cave was interesting. Our guide Killyian had loads of info and with just 2 couples on the tour , it was comfortable and very enjoyable
Tour Guide was a nice lady but we couldn’t understand her English and she was scripted. You asked something outside her script and got little reply.
This was a great tour! Worth the money! I was coming in from Paris on the train, cutting it really close. Everything went smoothly until I got to the train station and there were no taxis. In a panic and not realizing I could have called an uber, I called the company and they graciously sent the tour guide to come pick me up! It was great service! The tour itself with Killian was fantastic. He is so knowledgeable and shared interesting facts, never repeating himself. He is also funny, personable and professional. The wine tasting portion was also so fantastic! I learnt a lot and the lunch afterwards was delicious. Chambord was my favourite visit. Tour was very worth it to get to see the main castles and the wine caves! Very cool start to finish.
Killian was a great tour guide. He was very knowledgeable, professional and has a kind disposition. His positive energy and jokes elevated the mood of the tour and we recommend him to others. :)
