We cannot recommend Rosslea Hall Hotel. We were assigned Room 21, which was in an unacceptable condition. The room was dirty, there were moths/insects present, and the overall standard of cleanliness was far below what anyone should expect from a hotel. We felt the room was not fit to stay in, so we had no choice but to leave. As we arrived at the hotel just before midnight, we had no realistic opportunity to find alternative accommodation. As a result, we had nowhere to stay and ended up spending the night outside. The hotel refunded the cost of the room, but refused to offer any further compensation despite the seriousness of what happened. What is most disappointing is that, in their own email, the hotel acknowledged that the room fell below the expected standard. They confirmed that the housekeeping team had been retrained and that the ceiling in Room 21 had been repaired following our complaint. A full refund only returned the money we had paid. It did not compensate us for the distress, disruption, and the fact that we were left without anywhere to sleep because the room was not fit for guests. Considering the price we paid, this experience was absolutely not worth the money. We expected a clean, safe room, which is the minimum any guest should be able to expect. We hope no other guests have to experience what we went through.

My husband and I arrived at this hotel to celebrate my husband's birthday. On arrival I attempted to book a table for dinner only to be told that the hotel were not providing meals. We had to look for an alternative elsewhere.Naturally we were very disappointed and if had known there was no resteraunt we would not have booked this hotel. The room was comfortable enough but the toilet would not flush properly.
For a four star hotel you would expect a dinner service, no 8am no kitchen open, a hot breakfast nope continental only... rooms were ok there was a extract fan in the room beside us that never turned off so very little sleep for me. The staff we're very nice and friendly but it definitely is more like a 3 star hotel.
It's just ok! Just a little dated staff weren't overly friendly on arrival even though we'd booked a room for the night with 2 dogs we were still charged an extra £30. The room was OK although the mattress was so hard it and thin .we were told they had a problem with the kitchen so only continental breakfast which would have been ok but the pastries tasted slightly stale and the coffee was grim which is a shame because it could be a lovely place.
Stayed here recently and, overall, the experience fell short of the hotel’s rating. The room was tired and uncomfortably cold. I raised this with reception, who were polite and said they would sort it, but nothing changed and the room remained cold. A basic level of warmth really should be a given. The shower was very small, although the water was hot. Wi-Fi was patchy. Dinner was priced as expected for a hotel, but the steak was underwhelming. Beer was good but expensive. Welcome on arrival was fine but unremarkable. Breakfast was continental only and very basic: toast, croissant, cereal, yoghurt and tea/coffee, with communal jam and no individual portions. No cooked options, cheese or cold meats. Free parking is a plus, and staff were generally polite. However, overall the stay felt closer to a three-star experience than a four-star one.
