It was a great day out and well paced, did not feel rushed which was nice. Plus the guide recommend Ivo" Gostilna which had amazing truffle sea bass ravioli yum

Organized tour, professional tour guide, nice bus, everything is good. The attraction is worth to see.
The cave itself needs more than one hour to walk either descending or ascending which was exhausting. We thought that there will be a train or a boat inside the cave but nothing like that. It was like a military 🪖 training session which doesn't suit everyone. There should be a warning from the organiser that it's physically demanding and not good if you have bad knees issues. So not recommended. However the 2nd part of the trip to Piran was fantastic and our tour guide Bostjan was exceptionally good 👍
Excellent tour. Vanessa, our tour guide / driver was terrific. She was very friendly and informative and was an exceptional driver. We really enjoyed the caves and Peran. Just a great day. Thank You
Perfect day at the Skocjan Caves and Piran! Th caves are spectacular - not to be missed! And Piran is 100% worth visiting. David did a great job getting us everywhere safely and quickly— highly highly recommend this day trip!!
I traveled with my adult daughter and we had a wonderful day. The caves were epic—it truly felt like we were descending into the mines of Moria. We definitely recommend the caves; they are a different experience than the Postojna Cave. Piran was also beautiful, with lovely views of the Adriatic. Our guide, Carlo, was friendly and knowledgeable. He helped make the day a fantastic one.
Both stops - the cave and the city of Piran were great places to visit. The cave is unique with its enormous chambers and well lit walkways. The city of Piran was beautiful and very easy to walk around for coastal views.
Just got back from the Skocjan caves and city of Piran tour with the lovely Miha. He was punctual and professional, an exceptional driver, shared lots of interesting facts about the places we visited, and helped make the day really special! The caves are SPECTACULAR and the city is such a contrast it feels like visiying 2 different countries in a single day. Thank you Miha for a wonderful day out and taking such good care of us :)
The caves and its geology are amazing . You can see and feel what water and nature can do giving it time
Had a great time. Will come back again and the tour guide was friendly and very informative. Overall it was worth it
Great tour. We were met at our hotel, and Barbara, our guide and driver, was a wealth of knowledge about the stops that we were making. She helped make a very informative day more enjoyable. When in Slovenia, take a To Do In Slovenia tour.
This was an amazing tour. They arrived on time for pickup and the tour guide/driver was amazing. Also, he was a very safe driver and the vehicle was in excellent condition. I definitely recommend this company. The caves were also amazing and it was nice to make a stop in Piran. I would certainly fog with company for any tour you might be considering.
Wonderful time at the Škocjan cave. Nice to visit the seaside town of Piran. Barbara, our guide had great information
Well, this tour was not as good as the other tours I ve done with “To do in Slovenia”. First of all, it is extremely overpriced for what you get: the entry to the cave it s not included, entry to the Piran walls not included either. Wondering why this is the most expensive tour as it is not that far in comparison with Soka valley one for example which is much cheaper. Second of all, using the tour guide as a driver is completely unsafe. Whilst they drive, they feel obligated to entertain the tourists and they tell stories and laugh etc which is lovely but… 100% they do get distracted and by reflex they ll look back at the people talking to, they ll wave their hands in the air at jokes and so and you can literally see a hands free drive on the motorway which is really scary. Not to mention on the country windy roads. This is very unsafe and quite scary to watch and be in that car.
This tour is a must see. The caves are amazing, amongst the most spectacular anywhere. The time spent in Piran is also worthwhile for seeing the waterfront restaurants. The only drawback is there are several hours of travel involved in this tour
This is a great combination of nature, physical activity and relaxed time at a beautiful seaside town. The caves are truly spectacular. Enormous cavernous areas with rushing water through it. We were lucky that it had rained recently so the river was surging and cascading dramatically. Bit of a hike up steps on the way back but nothing the average person couldn't manage. Then a short drive to Piran. A pretty village with great seafood restaurants and quaint buildings. Great views over to Italy and Croatia. Ness our guide was excellent! She is friendly and helpful and knew exactly what information we all wanted to hear. Highly recommend.
It was a really bad start. I booked the tour online and was not given or asked for a pick up spot. I sent an email to ask and waited all day long and still did not receive a reply, even though they had already taken my money (so I couldn’t cancel). I called, they didn’t answer the phone. By the end of the day, I felt stressed and didn’t know what to do. Called again and finally had someone answer, who gave me a pick up spot and then said they’d send a confirmation email - they didn’t. When the guide arrived 20 minutes late, he was not that pleasant. I was already upset, already felt unattended to and was travelling solo. He was rude when I asked him a question, he spoke down to me. While the caves were beautiful, I could not fully appreciate them as I was separated from my group, and left at the back of a long line of people. The town of Pirhan was pretty but the restaurant recommendations made were for very expensive restaurants. I ended up going off on my own to find food and to walk the town. I would recommend doing these spots on your own or with another company as it really was not worth my money or the added stress I received. I went to enjoy nature but the disappointment I felt really got in the way.
We really enjoyed the tour, the caves were interesting but be warned a lot of steps! Piran was beautiful, the weather was sunny and warm, and the tour guide gave a good history. With plenty of free time for so lunch and a stroll. Recommended.
Amazing tour! Skocjan Caves were incredible - imagine Lord of the Rings meets Game of Thrones! And, Piran was charming - a little bit of Italy in Slovenia! Our guide, Tibor, was friendly, funny and passionate about the history & culture of this beautiful country! Would definitely recommend!!!
We had a wonderful guide, Miha or Mike, who narrated and answered questions on our way to the first stop-the UNESCO cave. While inside the massive cave area, this part of the tour was led by the park service guide. No pictures are allowed inside the cave. It needs to be known before booking, that the cave has approximately 500 steps and concrete walkways consisting of long inclines. We had 4 in our group. As long as this is known ahead of time, this is an awe inspiring place to visit. We were prepared for coldness underground, but it stays at a comfortably cool 12*C. The views of Piran were lovely. As you stand by the Adriatic Sea, you can see Croatia to the left and Italy to the right! We stayed 3 hours,. An hour for lunch and and hour for exploring. There is not much shopping to be done here, except for the Piran Salt shop!!
This tour was exceptional! The caves were so impressive; words could not accurately describe them. I also really enjoyed visiting Piran, especially with the explanation of Luka, our guide. I had a fantastic day and really appreciated our guide :)
Great tour, loads of great info from our guide, amazing food in Piran and beautiful sunset! Everything was as expected on a high level.
Wonderful! Our guide Tibor was both informative and entertaining. We also met some lovely people from around the world who toured with us. The cave was amazing and Piran was charming. Transportation was timely and comfortable.
Tibor is deeply knowledgeable about Slovenia and the sights he showed us. He shared his love of Slovenia and helped us better understand the country, its culture — and its cuisine (lots of good tips as to what and where to eat!). He set us up well to appreciate Skojcan caves and Piran. And he was just fun to spend time with! A great experience and well worth the money!
Our guide Micheal was knowledgeable and humorous. It was a great tour day despite the rainy cold conditions. The caves are amazing and the town of Piran was great place to see &experience a seafood lunch. The recommendations for lunch were spot on!
I had an amazing time on this full day tour with I believe her name is Dharja. On the way to the caves, she gave a detailed explanation on the history of Ljubljana, the nature and the mountains. On arrival, she showed us this beautiful view of the Dolines as well. I unfortunately lost my ticket right before going inside the caves, however Dharja was so kind and assured me I should still be able to go in. She was very understanding and managed to get me inside!! The caves themselves was BEAUTIFUL!! The real mind-blowing part is how big it is inside, all below surface level!! I recommend taking exit 2 to get some views before heading back to the parking lot. I went end of September so it can be a bit warm walking up from the bottom of the mountain. Piran was incredible! We had 1 hour free time on arrival, a guided talk through Piran with Dharja where she shared interesting facts and amazing views, then another hour of free time before heading back. You can also swim if you want. Absolutely loved my time on this tour 😊
This was well organized and the guide gave lots of great information as we drove. The caves were impressive and it was a good amount of time to explore Piran.
Loved this trip! Overall a fabulous time with a super knowledgeable, accommodating and friendly guide :) I was happy to meet other cool travelers on the excursion as well, as I'm a solo traveler. Love the group size - we were only 5- it was intimate and easy. Also - Piran and the caves were gorgeous. I was a bit disappointed that they don't allow photos in the cave, but thankfully I found a wide range of postcards in the gift shop to substitute. My only suggestion is to allow a bit more time at the caves, because when there are multiple groups, ( in our case 4) you can't control which group you go down with and we were the last: meaning we only were able to meet our guide half an hour later than scheduled.
Both locations are fabulous to visit and guide was very good and informative. It’s a well worth doing trip. We felt a bit rushed in Piran to get lunch. I’d recommend we do the guided walking tour right away upon arrival then leave remaining time for lunch. Also, the description of the level of difficulty of the caves could be clearer. There’s a lot of stairs and climbing
Quite a bit of walking up and down but well worth the trek. The information provided is adequate. No picture taking which is good because of safety issues.
I did the Skocjan Cave and Piran tour and while the caves and Piran themselves were wonderful, I was very disappointed with the guide’s attitude. During the drive he mentioned that we would need cash in hand for the cave ticket. This requirement was not stated anywhere on the tour description when I booked, so I had no way of knowing. Since I didn’t have cash, I tried to make things easier by buying the ticket online myself, assuming the earliest slot. When I told him, he immediately looked unimpressed, rolled his eyes, and seemed agitated with me. I apologized several times and even paid an extra €2 to adjust the time slot, which I didn’t mind — but the whole process felt unnecessarily stressful because of his attitude. I was flustered while sorting it out simply because of how dismissive he was being. Later, when another guest handed him cash directly, he commented to them that they were “the least problematic.” This felt unprofessional and made me feel singled out in front of the group. I understand the importance of logistics and timing, but the lack of communication in the booking description about needing cash, combined with the guide’s dismissive behavior, left a bad impression. The sites and transport were good, but I would have appreciated patience and professionalism rather than eye-rolling.
Anna ,our guide was so friendly and informative . She showed us so much , nothing was a rush . The caves were fantastic. The drive through to Piran scenic . We stopped to get picture postcard photos and then arriving at Piran , just beautiful. It’s a small town but extremely pretty from its day of Venetian rule. Bring a swim suit because there’s time for a dip . The food and ice cream delicious. Highly recommended
Great planned tour with enough time for all activities. The guide was very entertaining. Piran is a beautiful place and do be sure to climb up to the city walls for the best view.
The Škocjan caves was totally wonderful and beautiful exprience. Our driver/guide took us to this spectacular scenery before the tour started at Škocjan caves. These days taking photos inside the caves is forbidden. This was a little disappoinment. Before arriving to Piran we were ablento see a few view points to Izola and Piran cities. We had plenty own time to spend in Piran which was very nice. Our driver/guide was very professional and he made our day unforgettable.
This trip had a lot of time in the car and Tibor made it entertaining with his informative anecdotes about the country and the locations. He was a hoot.
Need more stars! By far the best, most magical and totally unforgettable experience of all our trips in Slovenia. The Skocjan caves are utterly breathtaking. Completely awe-inspiring. Piran is beautiful. You can see Italy and Croatia from the coast, the sea shimmers and is wonderfully clean. If warmer you could definitely have a swim. The most delicious food and wine too. Highly recommend the grilled seafood platter for two at Fritolin Pri Cantini with a glass of wine. We also lucked out with our guide Visna. She was highly knowledgeable, funny, kind, generous and clearly wanted everyone to enjoy themselves, have an authentic experience and fall in love with Slovenia. Mission accomplished Visna, we can’t thank you enough for the wonderful memories you helped us make here!

It was a very enjoyable day for all of us! We had a great tour guide/driver, Luka from To Do In Slovenia company, and honestly he made our day. I mean, the activities were great on their own, but he managed to add a personal touch to it. He was very knowledgeable, well spoken and well behaved. The perfect guide! Now about the activities, The Skocjan cave was magnificent! OMG, that middle part with the hanging bridge looked like something out of this world! Unreal. Like scene from Indiana Jones movie. Or if you have ever read the “Journey to the Center of Earth” by Jules Verne, that is what you would imagine the characters encountered. loved it! One thing I didn’t expect was that you are not allowed to take any pictures inside the caves in order to better preserve them, but believe me this does not take anything alway from the experience. After that we stopped to take some pictures on our way to Piran. Piran was beautiful! It looks more like Portuguese or Italian coast city, you would never believe you are still in what’s considered an Easter European country. Beautiful architecture, vibrant colours, friendly people. We had a quick tour around the city and then we were given 2 hours of free time. Me and my partner in crime chose to enjoy some delicious sea food dishes and local wine. Perfect end to a perfect day!
The images of Škocjan don't do it justice - the place is incredible, and very different from the more popular Postojna tourism spot (also worth going to on a first visit to the country). Our guide was very charming and personable, giving great information about places we were going and even giving restaurant recommendations in Piran. Very kid-friendly tours for English language speakers with this company!
Excellent tour to an amazing cave (Skocjan) with plenty of time in Piran for a relaxed lunch and sightseeing, including time to walk to the Piran wall for panoramic photos, some souvenir shopping, and a stop for gelato. Our guide/ driver, Damien (Johnny), kept us all on time, which allowed for a relaxed Piran visit in the afternoon, and provided a lot of information about the Karst region, the coast, and Slovenia, in general. I learned something new even though I had already been in Slovenia for 5 days and taken other tours before this one. Having been to both the Postojna Caves and Skocjan, I would recommend seeing both caves, if you have time. They are different and Skocjan is more relaxing, as there are way less tourists and there is a river that runs through the cave (which you don't see in Postojna).
I paid EUR 99 for a tour to the Škocjan Caves and Piran, only to realize it was essentially just transportation. While the guide was excellent, the steep cost felt unjustified, especially since public transport options were limited and a return trip from Ljubljana to Piran is €24 and the caves were on the way to Piran. Consider this tour for convenience, but be prepared for the hefty price tag.
I would definitely book a tour with them again!. Excellent service and attention, our guide Damijen, the best! ❤️❤️❤️😊😊
Excellent activity. The Caves are amazing, the food is really nice and the guide was super helpful, he explained everything we needed to know and more
Our guide Ziga gave us a fun filled day where we visited the beautiful caves, the stud farm, had a coffee across the border in Italy (because we could:), and had a delightful lunch in a restaurant we never would have found. We even drove by the castle to get a look at it from the outside. All along, Ziga cheerfully answered all of our questions about his country and its history (in his perfect English). I think he speaks other languages as well. He is a safe driver and the car was nice and clean. I highly recommend Ziga and this tour! If I had to change one thing, as a hiker, I would rather have taken the longer hike back to the car from the cave in exchange for the time we spent at the stud farm (that my girlfriend wanted to do more than I wanted to hike).
We booked the Skojcan caves and Karst region wine tasting tour, and we're very lucky to have Barbara L as our guide. We were picked up in a timely manner and the drive from Ljubljana to Skojcan was full of fun and interesting discussion. The Skojcan caves are a must and we were lucky to have Barbara join us on our expedition alongside the cave guide. The experience was beyond words and we were in awe of the beauty of this incredible UNESCO site. Following this, our journey took us to a homely restaurant in the Karst where we tasted a section of the region's delicious prosciutto and wine. Afterward we explored the village of Stanjel and Ferrari's beautiful garden. Barbara L was so knowledgeable and proud of being Slovenian. This was wonderfully infectious. All in all, this was an excellent tour and you should definitely request Barbara L as your guide if possible.
I bought 2 tickets for Skocjan caves and Lipica Stud farm product 3312P50 but they gave me the above tour, and stated it would include Cave tour and Prosciutto and Tehran wine tasting and tour of Stanjel. The pick up guide was good, and she was sorry, but she stated it was a Viator issue, and she couldn't include anything other than the caves and a drive to a crappy restaurant with staff who wouldn't serve us - near the entrance to the Lipica stud. The caves were amazing, but Viator should reimburse me!
We met up with Barbara M plus one other traveller so were chauffeured in very comfortable Mercedes car. Barbara is hugely knowledgeable about all aspects of country (we spent quite a bit of time discussing and learning about politics, history, wars and how the different Baltic ethnic groups get along) - she also seems to know every building in Ljubjlana! Cave tour is done by local guide - fantastic caves well worth the effort. Barbara also found us great cheap authentic local restaurant for lunch despite nearly all places being shut preparing for New Year’s Eve.

OMG! This was the best Literally, we were picked up at our hotel, the tour group provided us water, and even picked us up in a nice Mercedes CLA, since our group was the only group scheduled that day, we got a nice private tour. Keep in mind for this tour, the guide will give you history of the Lipica Stud farm and Skocjan caves. Our Guide Ava was very informative and spoke clear english! I had been to postjna caves as well, but this Skocjan caves felt way more authentic and natural, and not as commercialized. Ava is only the guide to get you to the locations, she will not be accompanying you on the tours, the tours itself have their own local english speaking guides, so during that time the guide who picked you up simply waits for you to finish the tours. Lipica stud farm, you see the horses very close as you drive in and see the linden trees on each side it is very scenic. I did not pay the extra 16 euros, as you can see the horses without going through the paid tour, and wasn't that interested in horses, as i was the caves. The caves is a hike! You will be walking up and down as many as 500 stairs, but the beauty and the natural simplicity is overwhelming, compared to other commercialized caves such as postojna. You will get a chance to see how old tourists viewed the caves, and the new path which is much more accessible. The feeling of the rushing river in the caves is way more audible here and visible then other caves. The water color was amazing, just was the best, as weather won't affect you too much inside a cave! I really hope if you have the extra time you can go and do this tour, as it was very scenic and different.

Small group guided tour (8 people) of the caves and Piran, very well organized, and the time spent at each location was perfect. The driver-guide is very friendly. For the cave, the guided tour is done in groups of 30 people, which is a lot, and there is no right to take photos. In Piran, there are 3 hours of free time, which is perfect for eating and visiting the city. The guide offered us a guided tour that I did not take, so I have no opinion. To have a beautiful view of the city, go up on the ramparts (price 3 euros).
The caves are spectacular and the city of Piran is very beautiful and interesting, thank you very much to our guide who also spoke Portuguese.
