Our guide DJ lead us on quite an adventure to the three locations. He was most professional and fun to be around. Pick up and safety issues were great and the whole day was perfect. It would take days to describe and comment on the sites visited, but rest assured they should not be missed. Thanks again DJ for your efforts. Mike Talluto

A journey into the 2 milion old cave with a spectacular interior. Postojna Cave is an impressive cave with global recognisability that has already reached 38 milion visitors in 200 years since it was opened to the public. A wonder happend when the Pivka river threaded its way in underground world and create firstly a cave and later a breathtaking interior with a fantastic web of tunnels, galleries, halls and passages. A picturesque karst phenomena created also an unique natural creations as stalactite, stalagmite, curtains, petrified waterfalls and cave pearls. One of the endless wonders in the cave is also so called »human fish« or »proteus« - a blind animal most notable for its adaptations to a life of complete darkness in its underground habitat.
A magnificent world-famous castle that cause a fantasy and mysterious feelings. Predjama castle, one of the most picturesque Renaissance castles from 16th century is build on a 123-meter high cliff and has a connection with a mysterious cave system underneath the castle. The dramtic, unconquerable, majestic and mysterious castle is also written in Guinness Book of World Records as the largest cave castle in the world. The interior of castle is today changed into a interesting museum where you can see objects that were found in the castle -chalice, three goblets, cup with a cover, cup, windmill cup, salt cellar and two candlesticks.
The picturesque town of the Adriatic, labeled as »the Mediterranean treasure«. Piran, an outstanding and one of the most authentic towns surrounded by the sea, is a historical and cultural monument. The town has a typical Mediterranean spirit with its narrow streets and closely constructed houses. The »dream town« owns an old town wall (with a breathtaking view from the top), the main square (with the statue of the well-known Giuseppe Tartini, who was a composer, a violinist and was born in this town), the picturesque St. George Parish church and other attractions. Let's join the locals and sit by the sea, chat and listen to sounds of the sea.

So glad to see that Nate was our tour quide again. It is a long tour but Nate gave us great information and directions. Recommend this tour! Nate knowledge and sense of humor made the whole day a special trip!
Excellent. The pre-tour communication was good and the driver-cum-tour guide was knowledgeable, personable and helpful. The sights were worth the few hours driving, particularly the spectacular caves.
We had a fantastic time on this tour. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and gave us lots of information about each location.
This was one of those travel days that stays with you because each stop felt completely different. Postojna Cave was extraordinary in scale and almost otherworldly. Predjama Castle was the place I had been most curious about, and seeing it built directly into the cliff was even more impressive in person. Then ending the day in Piran, walking by the Adriatic and sitting in Tartini Square, gave the whole day a completely different rhythm. What I appreciated most was that the trip never felt like simply checking three places off a list. We had enough time to actually take them in. A special thank you to our driver and guide, Sam. He was extremely punctual, warm, knowledgeable, easygoing, and kept the whole day running seamlessly without ever making it feel rushed. That balance is not easy to get right, and it made a real difference. A very memorable way to experience the remarkable variety of Slovenia in a single day.
We loved this day tour. It never felt like we were spinning our wheels and it never felt rushed either. Our guide Primus (spelling?) was friendly and open to answering any questions. I had a lot of them and he gave me thorough and thoughtful answers. Talking to him is better than going to a museum. It was like a university course in the van (not boring though). He was so kind he would line up with us at each venue to ensure all eight of us were together and going to the right place. He offered to take pictures of everyone at certain spots as well. He gave us the choice of starting at the castle or starting in Piran. In addition to an excellent guide, this tour is full of sites that are unique and unforgettable. This tour is just packed with wonderful things to see. We were genuinely glad we did this. It was a highlight.
Hesitated about booking as with entrance fees it worked out at about 300 Euro for two people but had a great day. Mini van was comfortable and cool. DJ was a very good guide, informative, friendly and helpful. He was also very patient as the other group were always late. We travelled to Piran on a very hot day but the journey was cool. We started up on the walls and the steps are steep but the views are worth it. Piran was lovely, great place to look around with a great square to have lunch and sit in the shade of the umbrellas. Predjama Castle was fabulous, picturesque and very interesting. There's a free audio guide. Really enjoyed it but there are many steps. Postojna cave, interesting and worth doing though we did find it a bit samey after a while. The reviews I read said it was worth it and I have to agree, one of the highlights of our visit.
A lot a steep steps might be a problem for older travelers. The cave tour was interesting if you have never been to a cave experience before. There was too much time spent on our own in Piran. The guide/driver was great. The group size was good (8).
We had a really great time seeing Postojna, Predjama and Piran with Nate. He was a great guide, full of interesting information and tips for seeing everything and always ready to help answer questions or give advice. We’d love to come back.
Amazing tour, the guide was exceptional and the service was very, very good.
Due to unforeseen circumstances, they switched my full day tour to half day afternoon tour (only the cave and castle but with tickets covered). Things still worked out. Appreciated Matt the tour guide's enthusiasm and knowledge, also the little thoughtful surprise at the end of our cave tour. The cave is a must-see!
Nate was an amazing guide who really knew his stuff, and he made everyone feel welcome and included, even visitors with disabilities. The tour to Postojna Caves was truly incredible, and hearing the stories along the way made the whole experience even better. He also introduced us to some local liquor and pointed us toward a few great spots nearby, which we really appreciated. What stood out most was how comfortable he made everyone feel. He created a genuinely warm, welcoming atmosphere where people could interact with each other and ask questions freely, without ever feeling awkward. Highly recommend this tour! The only improvement I'd suggest is having the location tickets prepaid and bundled into the main price.
DJ was amazing! The castle/cave fee wasn’t too bad, especially since it was high season (we are students which helped). The whole day was carefully planned and DJ kept us well informed and entertained. There was only 6 of us in the group which made it more enjoyable and felt more personable. We would highly recommend for anyone wanting a day out exploring, without having to do your own travel arrangements! Thanks again DJ :))
We had a wonderful experience! All the destinations on this trip are a must-see and we had enough time to explore everything. Our guide Matic was very friendly and knowledgeable and gave us great food recommendations!
Had a brilliant time on this tour on my last day in Ljubljana. I wanted to see all 3 places (coast, castle, cave) and this tour was an easy way to do it all in one day. Piran was a highlight, a beautiful town and a lovely lunch. DJ was a great driver and gave us some of the history while on our way to the 3 stops. Thank you.
The entire tour was well planned and executed.. Nate our guide was v polite and explained everything in detail! We had an amazing experience credit to him!
Nate is an exceptional tour guide; good call adjusting the schedule of the tour because of the warm weather. Very knowledgeable and attentive. Piran is a a pretty little coastline town, had just enough time wandering around it. The caves are amazing, it gets a bit cold inside though, would recommend to bring some jacket just in case. Didn't went inside the castle, just enjoyed the view outside the castle while having lunch. The blueberry liquor at the end of the tour was good. ;) Would recommend this day tour.
We had a great day visiting Piran, caves and castle with Slovenian Wander. It was very well organised and they kept in touch with us by WhatsApp before the trip giving us all the info we needed for pick-up etc. Our guide Nate was fantastic and gave us lots of information. It was a small group tour (8 people on ours) which made it more enjoyable. Would highly recommend.
Highly recommended day trip. Our guide DJ was extremely knowledgeable with the sights visited as well as Slovenian history. We visited Skocjan caves rather than Postonjan and it was amazing. Predjama castle must be seen to be believed.
What an awesome line up. Three great things in one fun filled day.
Had a wonderful day exploring Postojna Cave, Predjama Castle and the beautiful coastal town of Piran. The itinerary was very well designed and thoughtfully organised, with the guide adjusting the schedule throughout the day based on weather conditions and traffic to ensure the best possible experience. The route was efficient and well paced, allowing us to visit all three destinations without feeling rushed while still having enough time to fully enjoy each location. Postojna Cave was spectacular, Predjama Castle was fascinating and Piran was a charming seaside town with stunning views and a relaxed atmosphere. A special mention to our tour guide, who was extremely knowledgeable, passionate about his work and genuinely proud of sharing the history, culture and beauty of Slovenia. His insights and enthusiasm added so much to the experience. Overall, it was a fantastic day and an excellent way to see some of Slovenia’s most iconic attractions. Highly recommended!
Our experience with Nate was fantastic. He was such a wonderful guide, witty and full of knowledge. On the drive in between spots we were never bored. It was a nice balance of delivering info and leaving us to our thoughts and conversation. Cost and value for money was great for the full day trip and I felt we got a good impression of all the places we visited. I felt the time at the castle went really quickly and would have loved to spend a little longer there. But on the whole the organisation of the day felt very balanced. Would definitely book with this family run company again.
Great experience. Loved caves and Piran. It’s great yo be in a van with smaller group and appreciated that we had a free time to enjoy.
Great tour of Castle, nice Piran and astounding Caves and exceptional Guide
We had a great day and the drivers tips and info on each activity were valuable.Remember to take bathers and a towel if weather permits in Piran. So beautiful.
This was a super all day tour and Premus an excellent guide, attentive, knowledgeable about all things Slovenian. He even gave us some excellent wine and beer recommendations. The castle and caves are very worthwhile places to visit. Quite a bit of walking and stairs if you have any mobility issues. Piran was stunning and we had two hours there but would have been happier with three as we wanted to both explore the small town and promenade but also to enjoy a late lunch, which we did (Pavel 1), but no time for dessert and coffee! Slovenia has such a small coastline it was wonderful to see it and this beautiful town where Italian appeared to be the first language. As with other tours we took Premus was both driver and guide and does not accompany you into the castle, caves or around Piran. A map is given for Piran but he did take us first to the city walls for amazing views of the town. Please note all entry fees are not included.
All three places visited were brilliant. Piran was special but a few hours was probably about right to see the town, unless you wanted to walk right around the perimeter. The castle was incredible and so were the caves. Emil, our guide was helpful and very knowledgeable. Unfortunately Although the trip was titled to visit the caves and castle, there was an additional expense of €42 to get into both attractions, on top of the initial fee paid.
Premuš was excellent he checked the weather and adjusted the tour to suit He was very informative and friendly The caves were incredible and the castle was amazing. Piran was really pretty Highly recommend this tour
Emil was a fantastic guide, very professionnal and interesting to listen to!
Traveling by car while listening to informative explanations made the trip so comfortable and far from boring. I loved how every moment felt like a meaningful part of the journey without any wasted time. The itinerary was well-paced, so I highly recommend this to anyone who wants to experience Slovenia's diverse natural beauty in a single day. Also, shout out to our guide, Nate, who was incredibly kind and thoughtful, making sure everyone had enough restroom and rest breaks. He is very knowledgeable, which made his stories so engaging, and the blueberry liqueur he shared with us was delicious! I don't usually leave reviews, but I had such a happy day that I just had to recommend this tour.
An absolute pleasure to have booked this trip and get your guide (David) was amazing. This really is the personal way to experience Slovenia. Thank you so much :)
Our tour of Piran was absolutely fantastic! The guide shared so many fascinating stories about the city’s rich history, and we got to enjoy breathtaking views around every corner. The whole experience was relaxed, informative, and incredibly beautiful. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Slovenia!
We had such a good day, definitely worth every penny. Our guide, Nate, made the tour really special and had loads of knowledge about the areas, the history, geography and even the local wines!! We were so impressed that we booked the Lake Bled tour with him for the next day. Can't recommend this tour enough.
Emil is an incredible guide. Flexible, chill, well educated, and you can tell he has a passion for the knowledge that he shared. Highly recommended
Our guide, Nate, was exceptional—friendly, knowledgeable, and engaging. He answered all our questions, shared insider tips to help us make the most of our tour, and even recommended a few local restaurants (which we’ve already tried and loved). He also made a special stop at a viewing deck where we captured some amazing photos of Piran. It was an amazing day with perfect weather and an incredible guide. Each of the three stops was beautiful, unique, and picturesque.
An amazing experience with an amazing guide Nate, everything was planned with great details. Enough time to enjoy the trip and make it your own
I did two day trips with Slovenian Wander and I had a wonderful experience both times! Groups were small, guides were great and everything was timed perfectly. Would recommend them for anyone visiting Ljubljana for sure!
Nate was our tour guide and he’s excellent. He arrived on time and kept the tour interesting with tidbits of Slovenian history. The drive was smooth and the van was clean. The tour was small with only 6 people and all were respectful of the meeting time. The tour started with a trip to Piran. There was plenty of time to view the village from an elevation, followed by a stroll around the fishing port and had lunch. Piran’s famous storta is not to miss especially when paired with white wine. Our second stop was the Predjama castle which was impressively and strategically built within the opening of a cave. The last part and the highlight of the tour was the Postojna Cave. Nate timed it well so we get to be the last group to see the cave avoiding the huge throngs of tourists which made it a more relaxing experience. Overall, it was a pleasant tour with a great tour guide who managed the time efficiently.
Great day seeing three sites. Nate was a very good guide. He was very helpful and rearranged the day to suit the weather.
This is among the few tours from Ljubljana that cover Piran, a beautiful coastal city by the Adriatic Sea, overseeing both Italy and Croatia. Our tour guide Nate made the right decision to go to Piran in the morning when there was a lot of sunshine and then Postojna Cave and Prejama Castle in the afternoon when it was less busy. Nate gave us very good introduction of Slovenian history and culture along the way. He was very friendly and tried to answer all our questions in the best possible manner. This is a tour I highly recommend if you have more than one day in Ljubljana.
Highly recommend! Nate was a terrific, delightful and knowledgeable tour guide. One of our trip highlights!
Our first encounter with this tour group started with emailing Matic, and he was so patient and helpful in answering everything. We had no hesitation in booking the tour with Matic after his prompt response and helpful advice. We had a wonderful time on this tour with Nates, our guide. He was very knowledgeable, polite, helpful and kind. We really enjoyed this type of smaller group experience as it was more intimate and made it easier to make friends. Nates picked us up near our Airbnb, and recommended to all of us in the group that we will start the tour with a stop at Piran first. This stop is usually the last stop but we were glad he made this decision as Piran gave us the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful weather, and enjoy our lunch. The next stop to Predjama Castle and finally to Postojna Caves was absolutely the perfect highlight to end the tour, as he saved the best for last. We highly recommend this tour with Slovenian Wander. If you are reading this, think no more, just book this tour now without any hesitation.
The perfect tour! Nate was witty, knowledgeable, and friendly. Great communication beforehand and the pickup was a snap. Comfortable and clean shuttle van, too. Highly recommend!
Nate was the best tour guide, outstanding in coordinating our entries into busy areas and allowing all to hear him in the van.
Experience was awesome. Cave and castle was very beautiful. Piran a very lovely town with great shops and dining
The tour guide the Viator tour guide was great! The Predjama castle was a fantastic story and seeing it on the inside you could imagine the siege. The tour guide in the cave (not the Viator guide) was rude and spoke in a manner where most most of the tour attendees couldn’t hear him. The cave itself was beautiful and outside of the guide well worth the time.
This was the perfect day trip from Ljubljana! The castle was a must, and Piran was a great addition to our time in Slovenia
My wife and I really enjoyed our trip to see Predjama Castle, Postojna Cave and Piran. The shuttle bus pickup was on time and comfortable. Nate, our guide, was informative about each of the sites, as well as, providing nice summaries of Slovenia and its people. Each site exceeded expectations. The castle built at the entrance to a cave was a creative defence tactic. The cave was larger and more impressive than other caves that we had visited. Piran was a beautiful walkable walled medieval city. A great way to spend a day.
Highly recommend this company and trip! I had very limited time in Slovenia, so I wanted to see as much of this beautiful country as possible. From the start, the communication with the company was excellent—quick and clear. The information on the website was helpful, and direct contact via WhatsApp with the organizer made planning easy and stress-free. Our guide Nate was absolutely outstanding—kind, knowledgeable, and full of great insights. He shared not only facts about the places we visited but also gave us tips for exploring Slovenia and Ljubljana on our own. Thanks to his recommendations, I found some amazing restaurants, parks, and churches during the rest of my stay. I especially appreciated the personal stories and bits of history he shared along the way, which made the experience even more special. The pacing was perfect—informative without being overwhelming, with just the right amount of time to relax and enjoy the moment. The highlight? A surprise toast with local blueberry liqueur while overlooking the beautiful view of Piran—such a thoughtful touch. The van was super comfortable, the group size was small, and the whole experience felt personal and well-organized. Can’t recommend it highly enough!
Great tour! Emil was a wonderful guide, so incredible knowledgeable about everything Slovenia. He was also a very safe driver. Would highly recommend!!
