Vander Urbani Resort – A Member Of Design Hotels

Stayed 2 nights (July 24-25) at this "4-star" property — booked direct, which I now regret. The AC was broken from day one. We reported it repeatedly, were told a technician would come, and nothing improved for the entire stay — despite the hotel claiming the room was in a "comfortable range." Nights were spent with windows open just to get some airflow, which brought in noise from the bar below. Housekeeping was inconsistent — floors weren't properly cleaned on day two, and a bath towel we'd left out for replacement was simply put back rather than swapped. We raised all of this at the front desk during the stay and were told a manager would follow up. No one did. When I contacted the hotel afterward, they offered a 15% discount on a future stay — not useful since we have no plans to return to Ljubljana — and ultimately refused any other compensation. Nice location, but the basics (working AC, thorough cleaning, follow-through on guest issues) weren't there. Disappointing for the price point.

Wonderful stay in the heart of Ljubljana’s old city! The location was perfect, surrounded by the vibrant nightlife and charm of the city. The hotel had unique, stylish décor that fit the atmosphere beautifully. The staff were kind, friendly, and incredibly helpful, especially with dinner recommendations. As we were on our honeymoon, they surprised us with a lovely chocolate dessert—a very thoughtful touch! Unfortunately, the pool and rooftop bar were closed due to weather, but overall, we had a fantastic stay and would happily recommend.

I loved this place. In the heart of the old city and with a friendly, helpful staff. We had a long drive from Croatia and it was a pleasure to arrive here. Decor is modern and funky. My only gripe is that the AC wasn't fully working in the room during the heatwave. We parked at the Kongressi Trg parking lot about a 5 minute walk from here. Vander has it's own bar and restaurant and is easily accessible to many other spots.

I chose the place because it had good reviews. However, after staying there, I would not recommend. The shower overflow into the entire bathroom. The receptionist tried to help but she should not be expected to be a plumber. It seems this is an ongoing problem. We woke in the morning to an awful smell. Also, the air conditioning it not work at all.
