Private Day Trip From Livorno Port To Florence And Pisa

Excellent guide (Sarah) with extensive knowledge of the region. She picked us up right at the cruise ship and on time. She was very flexible and asked if we had any special requests, which she accommodated. We told her that we were interested in wine and she took us to a nice winery in the area, where we had a wine tasting. When we got to Florence, she arranged lunch in a good mid-priced restaurant. Very good experience. The only negative was the van, which was old with bad shocks and insufficient AC. Not the guide's fault.

Laura was hands down who elevated this experience for us. We had an absolutely amazing time! Even with a larga part of 10 things flowed smoothly and everyone was able to enjoy their time. Laura provided detailed insights, highlights, and great restaurant recommendations. She made this family trip one to remember! Thank you!

We had another fantastic experience with Rome in Limo, this time with Laura as our guide for a day exploring Pisa and San Gimignano from Livorno. One of the things we appreciated most was the convenience of being picked up and dropped off close to our ship in Livorno, making the start and end of the day completely stress-free. From there, we set out through the beautiful Tuscan countryside, enjoying stunning scenery and great conversation along the way. Our first stop was Pisa, where Laura provided helpful information about the city's history and landmarks while giving us time to explore and take in the iconic Leaning Tower and surrounding square. From Pisa, we continued into the heart of Tuscany toward the medieval hill town of San Gimignano. Along the way, Laura arranged a wonderful winery visit where we enjoyed lunch and wine tastings in a beautiful setting. It was one of the highlights of the day and provided a perfect opportunity to experience the local food, wine, and hospitality that make Tuscany so special. San Gimignano itself was absolutely charming, with its historic towers, narrow streets, and spectacular views of the surrounding countryside. While we could easily have spent much more time exploring both destinations, Laura ensured we made the most of our day and experienced many of the highlights without ever feeling rushed. As with our other tours with Rome in Limo, some of our favorite moments were the conversations during the drive. Laura shared insights about the region, its culture, and everyday life in Italy, adding a personal touch that made the experience even more enjoyable. If you're visiting Livorno and want to experience Pisa, San Gimignano, and the beauty of Tuscany in a single day, we highly recommend Laura and Rome in Limo. Their professionalism, local knowledge, and attention to detail made for another memorable day during our Mediterranean cruise.

I've booked several tours with Rome in Limo since 2009 and again, they exceeded our expectations! Jany is excellent to work with coordinating beforehand and her correspondence is exceptional. We were on a cruise and for our last port, we stopped in Livorno where we met our driver, Simona for the day. Here, she took us to Pisa where we were early enough to walk around the Tower to get some great pictures before our climb of 294 steps up to the top (then, of course 294 steps back down). Then we were on our way to Florence. Once in Florence, we walked all around and explored the Church of Santa Croce, the Duomo and Baptistery, the Ponte Vecchio, the Pitti Palace, and the Piazza of Michelangelo. We ate at the famous All'Antico Vinaio (famous sandwich shop - DO IT!!!!! - Simona knew exactly when to get us there so our wait was minimal) - Jamie and I split The Paradise (Mortadella, pistachio and stracciatella cream and chopped pistachios.) 😋 After lunch, we walked around some more, had some Gelato and then it was time to meet up with our group and driver. Our last stop was a wine and olive oil tasting at a lovely vineyard. I know many people are leery about booking excursions outside of the cruise line due to getting back to the ship on time. I book 99% of my excursions with locals and tour operations like Rome in Limo who have proven their reputation over the years through word of mouth. For our port today, specifically, Simona's time management was impeccable - we had 3 different 'groups' in our small 8 person van that wanted to do different things at various times. We coordinated with Simona in the beginning of the tour and she planned out what could and could not be done and she mapped out and itinerary that all 8 of us were happy with and she kept all of us happy and 'in line' --- and to do that in Florence, Italy is a feat in itself - lol. Another great tour! I highly recommend Rome in Limo for any tour that you may choose.

On 5 May of this year, 2025, I took my wife, son and Daughter-in-law on a terrific cruise out of Ravenna, through Croatia, Montenegro, Sicily, Naples and Livorno. At Livorno, we were met by a lovely woman, Jany, who took us to Florence and Pisa. She is delightful, well experienced, and new far more than we about the sights. I'd always wanted to see David at the Accademia, and the Leaning Tower. She told us about the countryside, making us feel at home. Because we had a bit of a drive from Pisa to Florence, she recommended a rest stop at a lovely winery, San Michele a Torri, located in the heart of Chianti. RomeinItaly had been recommended to us by a friend, and I was not only pleased, but a bit shocked. Had we taken the cruise excursion, it would have cost more and we'd have spent a lot more time in lines. As well, we'd not have seen the winery, where in addition to excellent wines (I bought a case and it was shipped to us in Tennessee), they raise pigs, chickens, olives for oil. I recommend them highly, and Jany is awesome. Ask for her if available, and you won't be disappointed. Ask for RomeinLimo, and you'll have a memory to count on forever.

We chose Rome in Limo based on the recommendation of a friend and boy, were we happy we did. The last stop on our cruise was Livorno and we wanted to see Pisa/Florence. We got Laura, a knowledgeable, witty, lady. She knew the area, and treated us like family. She was terrific, and our tour was awesome. Thanks Laura, and Rome in Limo.

We had an amazing tour with our driver Laura ! Rome in a limo is the best ! I would definitly use them Again ! We also did amalfi coast with them.

One of the best days on our 10 day cruise! Maria Clara knew all of the best spots to take us and customized our day based off of our preferences. She gave us a great information and tips along the way. I would highly recommend Rom in Limo private tours to everyone. We took two and they were the best days we had!!!

We had Raffaele as our driver/guide and he was super fun, informative, and easy going. He was also very patient and kind to our young children and elderly parents and helped take many of our family photos. He took us to Florence and brought us to a great spot in the hills that gave us a beautiful view of the city and gave us free time to explore the town and famous bridge. He also arranged our lunch at a local restaurant there as well as figured out how to best work with our pre-paid (timed) tickets to the Accademia museum (to see the David). On the way to Pisa, he took us a to an excellent gelato place. He also helped explain the different sights in Pisa to help us decide what was worth visiting on our limited schedule and accompanied us to get the proper tickets. Most importantly, he got us back in plenty of time for our ship departure. We really enjoyed having him as a guide! Highly recommend!

What a great experience. Our driver met us at the port and we had a lovely drive to and from Florence/Pisa. Our driver made a point of alerting us to scenery/historical items on the drive, and he took many pictures of the family for us. I wish I could remember our driver's name because he helped make our day so special. We arrived in one of the many cruise ships. All day long we were seeing so many people in hot crowds being put on and off buses. I'm so glad we had this option as it made for a much more pleasant day for our family.

We were very disappointed in this booking. I was expecting a private custom tour but what we got was a VERY expensive black car driver. We were on a 2 week trip to 10 cities and I booked private tours in every city via Viator and this is the only one that was not anything like I expected, disappointing and was way overpriced.

The description is not clear and maybe a little deceptive. The service is only for a driver to and from Pisa/Florence. Although the driver was great, we thought we were getting a true guide to show and explain the great city of Florence and were disappointed that were just dropped off told to meet again in a few hours. The service description title needs to be cleaned up to avoid any future misunderstandings.

We used RomeInLimo for several excursions on our recent cruise. Jany was so easy to work with as we made plans and was extremely flexible when we had to cancel our cruise for 2022 and re-book for 2033. We used RomeInLimo for transportation from the ship to our hotel and then from the hotel to the airport. Drivers were on time and professional and got us where we needed to be. We split our group up on the Port of Livorno day. Half of us spent a half day in Pisa. Our driver was very knowledgeable and we learned a lot about the city. He dropped us off in a few spots so we could explore on our own and picked us up promptly when we were ready. The other group went to Florence and Pisa and had an incredible time seeing the cities. We also booked a tour of Pompeii and Naples. We’d highly recommend adding on the private guide for Pompeii. Our guide taught us so much and we saw many things we would have missed out on without her. Overall this is an excellent company and we will definitely work with them again the next time we are in Italy!

Booked this shore excursion from our cruise ship. I would highly recommend! Our driver, Alberto, was amazing! He arrived on time and it was very nice to ride in a luxurious car. He was vey knowledgable and gave us great history about the region and sites. There was a traffic jam on the main highway and he navigated us around it using the back roads to save us time. It was great to see the Tuscan countryside. Once in Pisa and Florence, he provided great tips of where to eat and places to see. It was nice to have our own transportation and be able to get away from the crowds or large tours. He would drop us off at a convenient place and give us great directions on how to walk to places. This was definitely the best way to see Pisa and Florence. If I am ever back in Italy, I will use the same car service.

Our family recently did a shore excursion to Pisa and Florence with Rome in Limo. Our driver, Marcella, was kind and helpful as well as informative. In Florence, our guide Rafaela was SPECTACULAR! I wish we had more time in Florence to spend with her. She was especially wonderful with our three girls ages 5,7,10. She gave us the perfect kid oriented walking tour of the highlights of Florence. I would go to Florence again just to visit her!

Our driver picked us up on time at the port of Livorno in a spotless Mercedes luxury van. My husband and adult daughter and I had a very comfortable trip to Florence, and then in the afternoon he met us to take us back to the ship. He was very pleasant, pointed out some interesting spots along the way and was a great driver. I would really recommend Rome in Lambo to anyone going to Italy.

Tours in Limo was very responsive in answering my numerous questions prior to our excursion. They made it clear that our driver was not a tour guide, but would be knowledgeable and helpful in planning our day. We figured s/he would be more than that, and she was MUCH more. Our guide’s name was Laura, and she was fantastic. First, she was very experienced, and her driving was excellent. She did indeed give us many pointers as well as historical information during the drive to Florence. Laura not only made arrangements for our return, but she made sure we got to our two ticketed attractions, driving us to one that was across town. Laura also made sure we got in the correct line for Accademia, and told us how to get to the very interesting musical instruments exhibit. We were very pleased with our experience, and recommend RiL for future excursions. The cost, while not cheap, was less than a comparable full day excursion from the cruise line in a bus full of people. The personal experience was SO much better!

On a stop at Livorno, instead of joining the mass of people going to Pisa or Florence, I chose to go to Lucca. What a great choice. Lucca, a historical center is surrounded by a Renaissance - era 16 Century of defense wall which is so wide you can cycle around it to view the whole old town. Also known as the city of 100 churches, you should not miss St. Martin the cathedral and St. Michael. Walking into the town, you should include the following into your sight seeing: . Piazza dell'Anfiteatro . Guinigi Tower . Casa Di Puccini . Torre dell'Orologio and many other lovely sights of this old city as you negotiate the many side streets. Italy is not known for its gelato for nothing. When you see the statute of Puccini, you will come across Antico Caffè di Lucca. Try their gelato. It is good. Much better than the recommended 'best gelato in Italy' in Genoa. I certainly recommend a slow walk around the city wall of Lucca and in the town instead of Pisa and Florence. The train journey is about an hour but it is not an issue as you have enough time to get yourself immerse in this wonderful historic city.

Maria-Clara meet us at Livorno port, right on time and in a very clean and comfortable van. She quickly made suggestion for our itinerary and then we set off for Florence. We had a stop to set the Tower of Pisa up-right again and then on for some Tuscany photo stops. Next we drove to a few different look-out spots for an overview of Florence. Maria-Clara told us a few 'must see' places, then we walked around the city for a while before heading back to the ship. Fantastic day. Maria-Clara was very entertaining, with a great sense of humour. We arrived back to the ship in plenty of time. We would certainly recommend Rome in Lime and Maria-Clara.

We used Rome in Limo three times on our recent cruise to Italy and my only regret is that we didn't use them in Rome also (we had seen Rome in detail before and wanted to save money for the other excursions). In Livorno, we were picked up by Simona, who was a wonderful lively and enthusiastic driver and guide. Upon learning that we had booked tickets for the Uffizi in Florence for the 10 - 10:15 entry window, she did advise us that traffic was difficult, but she would do our best to get us there. We made it just 10 minutes late, which was amazing. Upon seeing the long lines, Simona took charge, talking with museum employees about the process, verifying we were in the right line, and even negotiating a waiting bench for my husband so he wouldn't have to wait in line with his sore back. The process worked great and we only ended up waiting 5 minutes. After the Uffizi, Simona took us around Florence (If you have special requests, always let your guide know), and we had a nice lunch in an untouristy small local restaurant that was very good and not expensive. We then took off for Pisa, where we had a chance to sample gelato and see the leaning tower. In both locations, we could stroll around at our own pace, Simona was very accommodating. We really enjoyed having someone local to talk to, also discussing current events and life in Italy, not just history. Definitely worth the money for us and such a relief not to be stuck on a bus with a ton of people! I feel like we got to see more, in a more enjoyable way.

Simona was our tour guide, she was prompt, friendly, and very smart about getting around in traffic on our way to Florence. We wanted to go straight to Florence and knew places that we wanted to see so we kind of made our own trip up. Simona was able to navigate us through the busy streets, and was so great with pick up points for two elderly parents with us. She took us to the best gelato in Florence, and we ended up having her join us for lunch in one of the piazzas. What a delight. She also took us to some great photo advantage points. I can’t rave enough about Rome in limo. They are so professional, they are much less than a shore excursion from a ship( at least for a party of 5) and they are so much more personal than a tour bus with 60 other people from your ship.

I've used RomeInLimo back in 2015. I had a great experience then and used them again Sept 2019. TERESA was our driver she was outstanding. Very knowledgable about Italy, her english was excellent. She setup a reservation in Florence for a sit down lunch and it was great food. I told her we also wanted to fit shopping in too. We drove to Pisa first as it was only 30mins away. We arrived and it wasn't as crowded. After picture taking, we drove to Florence. I told her we had tickets for Accademia at 11am to see the Statue of David and it was not disappointing at all. She made sure we were able to get it and told us to meet her in 1 hour. Which was enough time for us and it was small musuem. We ate lunch at met her about 2 hrs later. She let us know where the van would be if we arrived earlier than the expected time. She was just hanging out waiting for us. Before heading back to port we stopped to get gelato and stopped at a lookout point to see all of Florence. I would definitely go back.

Rome in Limo is absolutely the best touring company out there. I have used this company 12 times over several years and they are amazing every time. Every driver is exceptional and ensure your experience is the best!!

We had a great experience with Romeinlimo for our private trip from Livorno port to Florence and Pisa for our family of four. Our driver was professional yet friendly and took care to ensure our personal preferences were catered to. There was no rush as we were on our own timetable. We were able to visit places where big tour buses had no accessibility. We had a nice Mercedes van which provided comfortable ride. This is our second trip with Romeinlimo (last one in 2017 to Taormina). Both trips were exceptional. Highly recommended if you want a private trip and personal service.

We visited Florence/Pisa as part of a cruise. I usually don't risk not using the cruise lines' tours but they didn't really offer what I was looking for. I started doing some research on private tours and came up with Rome in Limo. They had great reviews so I decided to give it a try. Our driver, Vinnie, was easy to locate right outside the port. He was very friendly and made us feel comfortable right away. During the drive, he gave us all kinds of information about the places we were passing. Florence was beautiful and he got us around the city nicely making sure we hit all our hot spots including getting to the Accademia on time. If that wasn't enough, he also brought us to Pisa and got us to the Leaning Tower in time for our reservation. During the entire trip, he answered all of our questions and we came away feeling like we saw and learned a lot. He also got us back to the port with plenty of time to spare. Vinnie gets a five star review from us. Rome in Limo is amazing. If you're coming in on a cruise, they will make sure you're back in time. Give them a try!

My driver was named Viny and he was great. The company RomeInLimo responded to all emails in a timely manner.The vehicle was very clean and nice. It was a Mercedes with leather seats and very roomy. I will use this company in the future if they are available in the areas I am visiting.

Our Driver for the day was Simona, who was ready and waiting when we arrived in the port of Livorno on our cruise. She was both pleasant and polite and very informative. Simona took us to all the sights and her advice and insights into the history of the area was invaluable. This was our second time in both Rome and Florence. Our drivers were Salvatore in Florence and Stefane in Rome. These drivers were wonderful and did everything to make our excursions fantastic. Every small detail was attended to with smiles on their faces. We were able to see so many things while being driven as close as they could get to the entrances. Thank you again for 2 more magnificent days exploring Italy!

My family only wants to state how incredible our experience was with your company and how professional ,informative and entertaining the two staff members were that gave us such incredible tours. Our trip was at Pisa and Florence. Our guide was Cora. She was kind ,knowledgeable, patient with our children and excellent at giving us realistic timetables to be able see as much of Pisa and Florence as we could be without seeming to rush us or make us feel hurried. The knowledge and facts she shared of Italy seemed to come from a pure joy of history and not from just a job to do. I also enjoyed much of the commentary of modern Italy that gave us a full perspective of all we experienced. Our guide from Rome in Limo, Salvatore Ferrarotto, was waiting at the port and started the day with welcome greetings! He established what we would prefer for our itinerary with the customized requests that I had for Florence. I really appreciated his flexibility. We were off in a clean, comfortable and large van for our group of 8. We drove through the Italian countryside and made a quick stop for coffee and pastries. That place is still a favorite memory of a unexpected treat. Salvatore was knowledgeable, friendly and shared great information. He navigated and directed us through the many of major sites of Florence in the limited port time. We would have never experienced so much without his assistance. Salvatorre was very accommodating for our large group and really gave us excellent service in order to meet our interests. His food and gelato suggestions for Florence were great too! We were off to Pisa in the afternoon and back at the port in plenty of time. We had a great day with Salvatorre and was very impressed with his excellent service and the ease in which Rome in Limo arranged a great day for Florence and Pisa.

Our guide Vinni was amazing! He picked us up from our ship and drove us to Florence while he shared his extensive knowledge of the Tuscan countryside. When we got to Florence he directed us to the major sites. We arrived at the Academia early, prior to our ticket time, but his contacts were able to get us in early which gave us more time to see Florence. Vinni even helped us to choose some wine and olive oil to bring home! We also went to Pisa and Vinni ensured we made in time to climb the tower! Vinni ensured that we made it back to our cruise ship with time to spare. We had a great day and highly recommend using Rome in Limo when in Florence - and ask for Vinni!

This was one of the best tours we have ever had anywhere. Clara, our driver/guide was amazing. She was so knowledgeable and friendly and really made the day amazing. We saw so much in such a short time (only a day trip on a cruise) that I was beyond impressed with her navigation of the city and efficiency. She picked a great lunch spot for us, helped navigate entry to the sites we wanted to see and even took us for the best gelato. She was so accommodating for everything we wanted to do and everyone in the group. I would highly recommend this company and for sure ask for Clara in Livorno/Florence.

Truly impressed with the excellent service and care we received from Rome in Limo. Our driver/guide, Teresa, was absolutely wonderful! The port pick up was quick and easy, which meant that we had more time to explore Florence. Since making it back to our ship on time was a big concern of ours, Teresa made sure we got back an hour in advance and she did so without rushing us. A big plus for us was that she had a microphone plugged into the van so everyone in the van could hear her perfectly! She was also extremely helpful when trying to get into the Galleria dell'Accademia as our group did not all have the same time for our entry tickets. With her help, all 8 of us made it into the museum together. She was also extremely knowledgeable and was able to answer every single one of our questions. Teresa even made lunch reservations for us at a wonderful restaurant where she knew the service and food would be great. She also offered to take "the scenic" route to Florence from Livorno so we would be able to see Tuscany vineyards. We had a few hours of free time during which we wanted to eat gelato and Teresa recommended her favorite place and gave us excellent instructions on how to get there. Our visit to Florence and Pisa was amazing and it was, in great part, due to Teresa! Finally, the customer service at Rome in Limo is great. I exchanged multiple emails with them expressing our concerns. They always replied in a timely manner AND with a solution. I would really recommend them. We also used them for our Rome tour and our Amalfi coast tour and the service was just as great.
