We had a very small group 6 of us. It was well organized and really not much walking. Got to taste some very unique Italian dishes.

Wonderful food/walking tour with our guide Elena. We visited a couple of Catholic Churches, an old fort, street markets and indoor food market. We also had several food stops where we sampled local foods. Go hungry on this cruise because you are given the opportunity to sample several local foods unique to Livorno! Elena did not disappoint!
Excellent food tour with Ursula in the beautiful town of Livorno. At the first stop, we were given a choice of bombolone flavors (pistachio was amazing!) We spent more than an hour at the market where we had a number of courses. A large platter of smoked & pickled fish was shared, along with samples of olive oil, wine, cheese, & limoncello. The vendor offering the samples had the products for sale, and he did quite well with our group! We finished with a gelato on the way back to our meeting place.
Worth every penny. One learns a history of Livorno along with sampling some fine foods and wines of the region. If given the opportunity for Beatriz as a guide you are in wonderful hands
There was just myself and my wife on the tour so we were very impressed that it wasn’t cancelled. Bea was a fantastic guide who showed us the history of Livorno before starting the food part of the tour. We were taken to the outdoor and indoor market as well as small, local food & drink places you wouldn’t consider as a tourist. If you’re arriving on a cruise ship I’d highly recommend taking this independent tour rather than the one offered by the cruise company. It starts and finishes by the port shuttle drop off point, is cheaper and more intimate than anything a cruise company will offer you. Thanks Bea, we thoroughly enjoyed it.
It was such a nice welcome to the city. Beatrice and Mateo were so informative and friendly. We learned some about the city and then we ate! Everything was delicious and we felt we got a better understanding of what Livorno is about. Highly recommended!
This tour is a really fun experience that includes a walking tour of Livorno and sampling of some of their iconic foods. I had a great time! Our tour guide, Elena, was wonderful! She was very friendly and knowledgeable and just a very pleasant person. If you sign up for this tour, remember to wear your comfortable walking shoes!
We a great time. Lots of information and great food. Arianna was excellent. Thanks, Gord
Our tour guide, Arianna Neri, provided us with an outstanding experience in Livorno. There were only three of us in the group, which meant the opportunity to ask lots of questions. We started the tour with a type of morning pastry, similar to a donut. It was outstanding. Next we saw some of the city highlights-the canals, a beautiful church, a fort, and an outdoor market on the way to the second largest indoor market in Europe. Here we sampled cheeses, cold cuts, breads and wine. Next we sampled a Livorno speciality called a 5 in 5, a sandwich with a fried chickpea insert along with eggplant. It was delicious! Then back to the market for a sampler of fresh fish and more wine. This tour far exceeded expectations. What made it truly special was Arianna, who was very kind, friendly, open, and professional with a lovely sense of humor. The time passed quickly. I highly recommend!
We were lucky enough to have a private tour with Ursula. She is an amazing tour guide. We got to walk a bit and hear about the history of the area and then taste so many delicious foods and wine. It was such a great experience!! So glad we chose this walking/ tasting tour.
We did this tour on the second day while on a cruise docked in Livorno overnight. Arianna was our very knowledgeable and friendly tour guide around the canal area of the city. She gave us much of the history of the city and the particular area that we toured. All very informative and at a relaxing pace. We made several stops at very local establishments to get a true taste of Livorno. First, we had a local pastry at a bakery along the way. We then made our way to Gagarin for a local treat of a Chickpea pie and a local beverage. Then on to the daily street market and the historical Central Market building for a sampling of tasty Italian meats, cheeses, breads, and red wine, all from the same shop. Next was a seafood platter comprised of anchovies, shrimp, octopus, & various examples of fish, all dressed with olive oil, lemon, red pepper flakes, etc. & another glass of wine. The friendly owner came out and chatted with us and shared some of the additional products he offered such as olive oil, balsamic vinegar, and pistachio paste. It was an amazing 3+ hours experiencing Livorno with a local guide who provided us with a memorable travel experience. Thank you, Arianna! We highly recommend this tour and tour guide! P.S. We had a restroom break!
You need to be open to trying new foods. All the foods we had were delicious!! Our guide was excellent and very informative.
rough Livorno, Italy! Our guided tour through the charming port city of Livorno was amazing with a blend of history, sea breezes, and Tuscan allure into one seamless adventure! As avid travelers seeking off-the-beaten-path vibes, we were thrilled by intimate knowledge of this underrated gem, often overshadowed by Florence and Pisa
We had a really great food tour in Livorno with Claudia! She shared her love of the city with us and made us feel like locals as we visited spots around the city. She was so gracious and accommodating, and we had a wonderful time. I would highly recommend a food tour with Claudia.
Absolutely worthwhile! Such a informative tour with incredible quality and quantity of food, history of Livorno
The tour operator (not the tour guide) is lacking in pick-up location coordination. The tour guide, Ursula, was wonderful and very knowledgeable. The tour itself is great, especially if you are a foodie.
Alice was a wonderful guide! She loves Livorno and shows it through her selection of food stops. I was full by the end of the tour. I learned a lot about the food of Livorno and some of it's culture and history too. Our group had kids and Alice was very accommodating to the young ones. She is also willing to change up some of the foods depending on your preferences. Overall a great experience if you want an easy day in port.
This was so much fun during our cruise ship stop in Livorno. We walked through the local market, had donuts, a traditional sandwich, wine, cheese, charcuterie, olive oil and some smoked fish. Alice was a wonderful guide and was so much fun to be around !
Lovely tour of Livorno completed with local guide taking in food markets And local food.Alice was her name ,a very lovely person with great knowledge of the town ,showing us historic sites as well. Had stopped at this town before on different cruise ships but this was our first time taking a tour along with the food market where as part of tour had tastes of local food. Plentiful food and great company. Thank you Alice
Alice was so gracious and warm, her love for local food infectious, and the breadth and depth of her knowledge immense. My mother and I were transported by decadent donuts, savory “5e5” sandwiches, fresh from the sea swordfish, the best olive oil in the world, and so many other flavors. A wonderfully non-taxing (physically) outing for travelers needing a break from long urban hikes. Cannot recommend enough!
This was a fantastic tour led by the wonderful Arianna. She first took us around some historical spots in the downtown Livorno area and then on to several stops where we had some excellent food tastings. Highly recommend this tour!
Arianna was our guide and she rocked it! It was a nice strolling tour around the city .... Never rushed and very informative! The foods was excellent... We thoroughly enjoyed every step! Highly recommend
Arianna was wonderful! So charming and knowledgeable… went with the flow of the group and had many interesting people who joined the tour sharing their insights into the food and the culture along the way. Highly recommend her as a guide.
This was the ultimate local foodie experience. Our guide Arianna Neri knows the city so well. We had a great walk seeing the canals and castle fortress, then headed to the food stops for Livorno street food. First was a donut like fried dough filled cream. Delicious. We then went for a “torta di ceci”. So good. Then came the historic food hall with a sit down tasting of cured meat and homemade wine. Then it was time for seafood, including snapper, smoked swordfish and more. Last was olive oil, balsamic vinegar, pistachio olive oil butter and of course more wine. One of the very best tours and tastings of our vacation.
This is the best way to get to know any city. Walk and eat your way through it! Small group of 4 that was perfect. Donut shop, traditional sandwich, chacuterie, wine and more! Fabulous!
Alice was a lovely guide. Just the right pace and taking time to explain the various foods we came across. We also learnt a lot about the city as we went round. Perfect.
The tour was a nice experience. Arianna was a great guide, very nice and funny. We had a lot of fun and it was easy to take my dog with us.
We had the pleasure of being guided around the streets of Livorno by the amazing Alice Coppa, tour leader. It was a day of history, amazing food and drink and many laughs. It was an experience I will not forget!
