This company was amazing, our cruise changed the port due to weather and the tour company arranged for our pick up at the new port 30mins away I was so grateful and delighted for their attention and service. The tour guide Sara was was wonderful ,knowledgeable and very friendly. We enjoyed our tour to Florence and Piza very much.

Was a stress free way to explore the main sites of Florence and Pisa with the right amount of free time and guided tour to enjoy the sights, take photos and shop or explore with the friendly tour guide handy to ask questions, provide direction and most importantly ensured that the group stayed on track - Allessandro and Lucio were great companions and went above and beyond to ensure we got back to our Ship on time.
This was an amazing trip. First, when our original port was canceled and changed to another location I reached out sbdvgheybjust moved my reservation. Second, they were super easy to find at the port. Third, our guide was great and gave lots of detail in explaining things. This was an all day excursion with time to stop to eat and shop. I'd do it again for sure.
This was a good tour. We appreciated that when our cruise went to a different port due to weather, Shore Experience pivoted, too, and picked us from the further port for just a slight fee adjustment. They contacted us right away. We didn’t have to figure iit out ourselves. The bus was comfortable and the guides information about meeting points and times were clear in both Florence and Pisa. We enjoyed the time to walk on our own and use their map and Google Maps to find some places we wanted to see in Florence.
Our guide Alex was super knowledgeable & patient. He showed concern for the slower people in our group. Our driver, Lucho, drove with care and made sure we got there safely. Also, a HUGE shoutout to the Shore Excursions team for making adjustments to meet us in La Spezia when we were supposed to meet in Livorno. Thank you for being so adaptable!!
Seamless tour with very knowledgeable guide. Tour guide Alessandro and driver Lucia were both excellent.
This was a great walking tour of Florence. Mariana was our guide, she was very helpful, knowledgeable and mature. She directed us to a great lunch spot. Pinocchio’s. We had a few hiccups on the trip, but Mariana handled them well. The only drawback was that the buses were not all at the meeting spot at the start of the tour. I think that would have saved time in the long run.
Awesome it was a great excursion. Wonderful experience, cheap awesome and it’s a must try. I had such a lovely experience with this experience and excursions
10/10!!!!! Mari was the best tour guide! The bus was clean, the tour was very organized and informative. You get to see a lot of Italy!
This trip was a great value. Instructions were clear. Maria our guide navigated guiding in 3 languages with ease. Great choice for us to book a last minute tour.
Great experience with Alessandro! Very good tour around Florence and great cruise ship excursion option.
This was a long tour...we saw a lot & what we saw was wonderful. We did not get to Accademia and we did not get the glass of wine. I would have preferred to do it in reverse. Leaning tower first then Florence.
Did the job of getting us to Florence and Pisa and back to our trip in time. Tour guide spoke 4 languages and was always helpful. Walking tour was not a tour but a person to lead us to city center which was not where we were heading. No glass of wine given, though this may have been at the end of the walking tour. The bus drops you back at the ship which is not what we wanted but may be a bonus to others. Bus was always hectic and we were always fighting to find a seat close to each other. Had a good time overall.
Marti was great. She gave us all the highlights and was very helpful. Be careful booking you may think you picked all the options but it’s tricky. We missed out on academia but that was not Marti’s fault.
One hour late leaving chaotic meeting point - no reason no apology No actual tour guide information about places, just how to get to/from bus Very little time in Florence in order to return to bus on time only for the tour guide to be 30 mins late - no reason no apology! Arrived in Pisa with so little time had to rush to tower climb then rush back and again bus didn’t leave until another 30mins late! No reason no apology Tour very early way behind schedule as some passengers had 2 mins to leave bus and get back board even when bus made detours to go directly to their ship. Tour had been due to return to the town but bus didn’t - no discussion with passengers at all (we had made arrangements in the town) When spoke to tour guide about her changing the route last minute she was abrupt and rude and told us ‘get the shuttle back in’ - we’d already paid for this shuttle. Overall enjoyed visiting Florence tho extremely rushed visit - didn’t enjoy Pisa (tatty and felt everyone there just wanted us to spend money rather than experience their town. Felt they were there only to ‘rip off’ these unwelcome tourists’) Didn’t have time to do anything except climb the tower then rush back. Didn’t find the tour guide at all professional and would not use this company. A guide on a different trip stated all tour guides in Italy had to be registered and trained. If this guide is register the overall system had failed as the quality was appalling,
There is not enough time to enjoy both activities especially if you get the tickets for the Accademia and Tower. I couldn’t do the tour with the guide in Florence because my ticket time was in the middle of the tour. It should have been at the end when the tour guy gave us 1 hour of free time. Also, I was given 2 tickets with different times for the Leaning Tower. One at 4:30 and the other one at 4:45. Our meeting time back with our tour guide was at 5:15. We were not going to be able to make it back on time since it takes about 30 minutes to go up and down the tower with all the crowd. Sadly, my husband was the only one who got to go up. The guides seem to always tell you that there is plenty of time, when the reality is that there isn’t enough time!
Much better value than our ship's own excursion. Everything was very well organised and the company, Shore Experiences, handles large volumes of passengers taking various tours with great efficiency. I took the shuttle from the ships to central Livorno, which was very straightforward, then a team of Shore Experiences' staff checked people in and ensured they ended up on the right bus. Ours was a double decker as the Florence plus Pisa option is very popular. In Florence we had the option of an escorted tour but as i had a timed ticket for the Accademia (mainly to see David) there wasn't really time to stick with the walking group and go to the museum. I was given very clear instructions re picking up my museum ticket and we were also provided with a handy map to make getting around the main sights easily. Central Florence is quite compact for sightseeing. We continued to Pisa and had just over an hour to wander around the main square and, of course, see the Leaning Tower. Some had tickets to go inside the Tower. Extras like Accademia and the Tower were options during booking and the company handled the reservations. Our guide was friendly and helpful. At the end we had the bonus of being dropped at the ship which I believe happens quite often as the centre of Livorno is so busy when all the excursions get back.
Our overall experience was good in spite some weather challenges. Viola, our guide, tried her best and I’m certain under better circumstances it would be well worth it.
If you are on any cruise ship DO NOT BOOK! The meeting point is over an hour from the cruise port and challenging to get to. We lost all our money for this excursion for circumstances that were beyond our control. We had attempted several times to contact them by email, messaging and calling. No one responded nor picked up the phone. There are several better similar experiences for less money located in the city where your cruise bus drops off. Read the reviews🙏
It requires alot of walking. You can go off on your own it it is very difficult to find your way without Google maps. If you choose to do the Academia you will need to go on your own. The times that get assigned to you to do these options are not always possible to do. We chose to do the tower in Pisa but the time they gave us was only 15 minutes before we had to meet back up with the group. They would not allow us to enter earlier so we did not get to do it.
Very professional! We arrived in Livorno on a cruise ship. The meeting location for our tour was conveniently located and ready to find. The tour operators were on time and very pleasant. The trip left on time. It tour director was very knowledgeable and friendly. When the tour was over the bus took us back to the ship. I would highly recommend using Viator for your next trip excursion.
My tour guide and driver were amazing i had Alessandro and Andrea. They were very informative and helpful, i would highly recommend and if i had to suggest to a friend this would be the tour to go on, they are amazing. 10/10 experience
Wifi didn't work in the bus, and it wasn't possible to adjust the direction of the vents, so it felt a little warm even though the air conditioning was working. That aside, our guide, Frederico (or Kiko), was knowledgeable, friendly, and humorous - no small feat in the hellish heat of the day.
It was a very convenient transfer to Florence and Pisa for cruise ship passengers. A free shuttle bus at the port takes you directly to the meeting point for the tour and on the way back the tour takes you to your ship. We were given 3 hours in Florence and 1 hour in Pisa to explore. The coach was air conditioned and comfortable. The driver and guide were great. We were given a full description of the area on the way to each destination by the guide and clear instructions about timings and meeting points. The driver sold bottles of chilled water at each stop for 1 Euro. It was the perfect way to see Florence and Pisa in one day.
It’s best to do with a guide as you see more things and are informed about the history, our guide Lorenzo was amazing and gave us enough time to take pictures and sightsee alone also.
I hate leaving low rated reviews, but I would not want anyone I know booking this tour and having as bad an experience as my family did. The stops were all good, however most of the “included” items were not included as already stated in other reviews. The bus ac is inadequate and everyone in the bus was sweating and uncomfortable, it was actually cooler as soon as we stepped off the bus. To top it off our guide had everyone’s phone number and did not call us when we were 5 minutes late to the bus due to train crossing malfunction, could not cross street back to bus.We called both numbers on the provided map with no answer.when they did answer they gave us the guides number. He answered and told us they had departed 5 minutes after the agreed meeting time and could not return for us. Ended up having to walk to train station in sweltering heat with my family for 20 minutes and taking train back. Nearly missing all aboard for our cruise as a rideshare would have been over $100 euros. Not recommended.
Our tour guide Sara was great and tour was very good, if you can leave early (not 9.30-10) and not have a ship sailing that day. We did not have enough time to see Florence, barely missed going up Tower of Pisa or go into the Basilica even though we had tickets and luckily they arranged to drop us off at our ship 5 minutes before we had to be onboard.
Accademia Gallery ticket (if option selected) Access to the Leaning Tower (if selected) Air-conditioned vehicle Authentic Florence Walk with a local tour leader (if selected) Complimentary glass of wine in Florence Emergency contact number Expert Tour Leader Free Wi-Fi, Free Map, free wine tasting Free multilingual Walking Tour app (downloadable via Wi-Fi onboard) Priority boarding on the bus This excursion was extremely disappointing and did not match what was advertised. First, this was essentially just a bus ride from the meeting point to Florence. The coach was advertised as air-conditioned, but it was so hot inside that many of us had to use our own handheld fans just to stay comfortable. The excursion also failed to deliver several of the advertised highlights. We never stopped at many of the locations listed on the website, there was no complimentary glass of wine, and there was no wine tasting. Instead, the guide simply pointed us in the direction we were supposed to walk and gave us very little guidance. The schedule was so rushed that we barely had enough time to visit the Accademia Gallery to see Michelangelo’s David before we had to hurry back to the bus to leave for Pisa. There was no opportunity to enjoy Florence or experience any of its other famous sights. As someone with mobility limitations, the experience in Pisa was especially frustrating. I chose not to make the long walk to the Leaning Tower. The driver was supposed to show me a place where I could comfortably sit and wait while the rest of the group explored. Instead, he simply said “ciao” and walked about 20 feet ahead of me while talking on his phone, leaving me to figure things out on my own. I felt completely overlooked. I’ve visited Florence before on another excursion, and the difference was remarkable. On that tour, I was able to see beautiful landmarks like the Ponte Vecchio, enjoy the city’s atmosphere, and actually experience Florence. On this excursion, the bus drove straight to the bus station without providing any sightseeing at all. Overall, this tour was rushed, stressful, poorly organized, and did not provide the experience that was promised. I would not recommend it, especially for travelers with mobility challenges or anyone hoping to actually see and enjoy Florence.
Easy meeting points and knowledgeable about the areas we passed by. Only complaint is that we were to visit the museum to see the statue of David and never received our entry tickets. Eighteen of us traveling together and we all paid for the entry.
While we enjoyed the cities, we were quite frustrated with the travel experience. There were many discrepancies between what was noted in the event listing and what actually happened. The listing noted an air conditioned bus and we found ourselves using our personal fans just to stay cool. We even shared our fans with others because no one could get cool air to come from the vents. The listing noted free wifi available on the bus. No password was ever provided and thus we couldn't research the last minute details we needed. Moreover a walking app was supposed to be available for download on the bus wifi and there was no mention of this and it obviously wasn't going to be available anyway. The listing noted wine tasting and a free glass of wine in Florence. None of this was provided or even mentioned. The listing noted priority boarding bus on the bus and there was no such thing. Additionally we were given attraction tickets with times and then we arrived late to the attraction. The tour guide also provided incorrect information in Pisa. She said no backpacks were allowed in the tower. We had small crossbody purses and we had to step out of line to put them in lockers because absolutely no bags were allowed. The tour guide was nothing more than someone to tell us where to meet in a city. She didn't share any information about sites or buildings, had no knowledge of history of the places, and didn't share the insider information you would expect from a tour guide. She literally got on the bus, told us where we're going and when to meet, and then never pointed out anything during travel. We might have driven by the points in the listing but you wouldn't have known that because she never pointed them out. Finally we did not go back to the original pick up point. We were running so late the bus had to take us directly to the ship. While appreciated so we didn't miss the ship, the delay meant we didn't go back to what was listed. My family was planning to catch our own shuttle to the ship after doing a few things and we never had that opportunity We were quite disappointed in the overall experience. It should have been listed as transport only and not as an actual experience.
Guide Swan and driver Lucho provided a great trip with great adherence to schedule and are even returning us to our ships rather than meeting place. Great way to cover off Firenze and Pisa in limited time ashore. We opted not to take the walking tour of Firenze and were therefore able to cover more ground since the group was large. Very comfortable coach with A/C. Maps and schedule provided were very clear. Highly recommend.
My daughter booked this trip after looking through the reviews and seeing they were excellent at getting guests back to the cruise ship in plenty of time to depart. Firstly the trip! Incredibly well organised. The guide Alessandro was fantastic! We first went to Florence which was fabulous. We followed Alessandro who guided us to all the best touristy spots and he was very knowledgeable. Then we headed to Pisa. Now this is when I started to get nervous. A few of us had told Alessandro we had to be back at the ship for 6pm and he laughed it was 7pm. We said no it’s definitely 6 and he said don’t worry I promise you will be back on time. We were supposed to leave Pisa at 5.30 and this is a 30 min drive back to the cruise terminal. I’m thinking goodness this will be close, then just out of the car park and bang, the traffic was mental and just stood still. We didn’t even leave Pisa til almost 6. I again said look I’m really worried now and Alessandro said his manager had rang the ship 3 times that morning and the boat was going nowhere until 7 pm. Around 6.15 the ship rang and asked where we were! We explained on a trip with 24 other Cunard passengers. Unbelievably, they waited and we got back for 6.25pm to do the walk of shame. The annoying thing is my daughter rang that very morning and asked for confirmation we would be back on time and had email confirmation they would definitely have us back at the ship for 5.30pm! The most annoying thing was from the moment of the call from the ship Alessandro did nothing. He passed the phone to a lady the seat behind and said you need to deal with this. We never got a sorry, an explanation or anything when leaving the coach. So in a nutshell, fantastic trip, incredible value but if you’re on a ship, be very careful! We were incredibly lucky there were so many cruise passengers on this trip so they waited. Definitely learned our lesson!
Alessandro was a great tour guide today and made the experience very much enjoyable for me and my son, Guiding us to all famous landmarks.
Alessandro and Riccardo were amazing on our tour of Florence and Pisa! Very informative, helped us see all the important spots. Alessandro also spoke at least 4 languages (English, Spanish, Italian and French) which is quite helpful when traveling internationally. Would highly recommend!
This tour included a stop in Florence with a 3.5 hours walking guide who provided info about the main sites. There was a long walk from the bus stop to the city center so prepare for that. It was hot so it was tiring. Bring a fan, hat and water if going in summer. The tour guide took us to a nice restaurant for us to have lunch independently and then back to the bus to get to Pisa for about 1.5 hours. We would have liked more time in both cities to do some shopping and enjoy some other sites. Our cruise had a late departure that day so we had time but I couldn’t find longer tour options. It felt rushed and since everywhere is so crowded, not enough time to see more. The tour guide was very nice and provided water for everyone and good info about the area and places to eat and do a bit of shopping.
it gets you to see the main sights in florence and lisa quickly from your cruise port; gives you a taste of the touristy parts of both cities. our guide sarah was kind and the driver was able to get us back to our ship which was convenient. it was a longer day but for the price and convenience it was worth it
The title is miss leading. To enter the musuem and leaning tower of piza, you have to pay an entry fee, otherwise all you see is the outside. Laverno was ok, but Piza was worth every penny.
Very organized, Marina our tour guide very helpful and kind, everything was as described, a lot of memories and fun
A very full interesting day well managed by Allessandro The driver was very good and all expectations were met
It was very easy to book this trip. Our guide, Luna was very knowledgeable and took good care making sure we saw the best of Florence and Pisa. We always felt safe and never felt as though we would be left behind.
Very fun and Federico was an amazing guide! Traveled with kids and it was HOT but the day flew by and everyone had a great time.
Very friendly and professional. Good sense of humour and knowledge. Even got us back to the ship on time in the coach! Fabulous!
Great experience for our family of 8 to see Florence & Pisa! The bus was cool and comfortable. Meeting place was easily accessible from the shuttle directly from the cruise ship.
Had a wonderful experience! Alessandro was a great tour guide! He was informative and very funny! I highly recommend this tour to others!
Tour guides were well organized and left us with a good amount of time at each stop to look around. Would use them again
Great to see both Florence and Pisa- loved them both- needed an extra hour in each but caught the highlights. Don’t miss the statue of David in the Accademia.
We booked this for our cruise stop. Finding the guide after getting off the shuttle bus from the port took a few minutes but we found him eventually. This really isn’t a “tour” you are basically paying for a large coach bus to take you and 80 other people to Florence and Pisa. The company does provide you with a free app and map to help you in Florence and Pisa. The guide gave some tips but basically you get to the city and have time to explore on your own.
The shore excursion was well-organized and informative. Keep in mind that reaching the meeting point requires a shuttle, and most ports impose a fee. While we purchased tickets for the Galleria dell'Accademia to view the David, our entry time remained unknown until we arrived in Florence. Unfortunately, this time fell right in the middle of our three-hour window, preventing us from fully exploring everything.
This excursion was wonderful. Our tour guide, Alessandro, was very helpful and humorous. Our bus driver, Lucerno, did a great job navigating the streets of Italy. We saw a lot of Italy in a short amount of time! I would highly recommend this tour!
10/10 experience! Our tour guide Alex was AMAZING!!! Luciarno, the driver, drove very well and the bus had WiFi which was a huge plus! I would recommend this tour.
