From Livorno To Pisa On Your Own With Optional Leaning Tower Ticket

This excursion is only for a bus ride to and from Pisa and the tower site. There is no guide to take you around. This was all we really needed so it met our expectations. However I wouldn’t recommend for mobility challenged individuals. It is a bit of a walk from the parking lot where the bus drops you off and the site itself. The time you are given to explore the site was sufficient. We viewed the area, did a little shopping, and stopped and had pizza in a sidewalk caf. We still made it to the pickup point in plenty of time. If you plan to climb the tower it may be pushing it however. (We did not). The lines there were a bit long

Guides are easy to find from cruise bus drop off in Livorno. The walk from the bus drop off to the tower and cathedral etc was a big over a half mile.

Directions to pickup point were easy to follow. Staff at pickup point were very friendly and helpful. Everything was on time. 10 mins walk from bus dropoff to tower. If you're undecided about going up the tower - DO IT! Remember it's a lot of stairs, on a slope though haha. Area around tower very busy but that was expected.

A very successful trip, good value for money.

This was much cheaper than the excursion the Cruise Line offered. The charter bus from the pier is $7. It takes you to Livorno. When you are getting off the bus Viator representatives in the Green Shirts are right there greeting you. They looked are name up and told us what time to be back and where to meet-up. Just enough time to do a little souvenir shopping. I definitely recommend this excursion.

There is a walk once you get off the bus. Great experience! Just know you have a long walk to get to the Tower. It was definatly worth the money.

This is a bus shuttle only. Very unorganized at the bus stop. Some staff not friendly. Maybe a better system is needed

As advertised, the meeting point was at the location of the cruise shuttle drop-off. The tour was exactly as advertised. If you want to climb the leaning tower, go straight to the ticket shop to book a time.

An easy way to get to Pisa, with plenty of time to look around. The walk from the drop off to the tower was longer than the 10 mins advised but was easy and flat. It did however have little shade. I think there was a tourist ‘train’ you can take. Very efficient staff at the meeting point and coordinated well with our cruise shuttle drop off point.

They delivered exactly what they promised. The bus was clean and on time. They dropped you about a 10 minute walk from the main sites of Pisa. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Experience was well organized. Representatives were easy to find and spoke good English. They were able to answer questions asked. Overall a positive experience.

It was fine although bus was warm/hot. Ineffective AC. Quite a lot of waiting around and being sheparded here and there in direct sun, no shade. Bus Parks a good 20min walk from the tower.

It is a very convenient alternative to visit Pisa from the Livorno port while cruising. It is basically a transport tour from Livorno’s city center to Pisa. It was very economical compared to the high priced excursions offered at our cruise.

Easy tour. Great bus. Clean with good AC. On time. Operator was organized. Was given clear direction on logistics and schedule. Highly recommended.

This is simply a transfer to Pisa, no guide, no history, just a ride back and forth. We got off the cruise ship and paid $7 for a shuttle round trip to the city center . We got off and the meeting place was right there and very convenient. The tour worked out to about $24 per person. The bus driver said he was leaving at 1:15 to come back and he was right on the money.

Bus left over 20 mins late this morning so that plus traffic meant very little time in Pisa by the time we actually got there. Adverted as 2.5 hours but ended up with 2. We were given a map and it was very clear where and when to meet the bus coming back.

This was excellent. I'm on a cruise and all the official tours, even the self guided, were extremely expensive. At least 5x the price of this. All I wanted was transport to Pisa and this fit the bill. I had to take a 7 minute shuttle from the port, but the drop off is right where the Viator tour meets! So convenient. We then got on the bus, were dropped off in Pisa, were given a map of attractions, and were told when to be back. As promised, they had us back to Livorno right on time and we were able to hop right back on the shuttle to the port! If you're on a cruise and don't want to pay sky high prices just to get to Pisa, book this

Just what I wanted! This took us straight from where the cruise shuttle let out to a parking lot near the tower. It was a fifteen min walk on flat ground. The operators were nice, and the bus clean

Exactly as it said on the tin. Booked the trip for 10.00 so left a bit earlier to be on the safe side. Left the ship 🚢 on the port shuttle bus at 9.00 cost 7 euro pp return. Arrived at the meeting point 9.20. Got a ticket from the rep in the green t shirt 👕 and was told the bus would leave at 10.10 the bus left livorno about 10.15 and took us to the car park close to the leaning tower. We had about 2 hours there b4 back on the bus and returned to livorno. Then shuttle back to the ship at about 2.30.

Bus left on time. Got ticket up to Pisa tower but it was at 12pm so had to quickly go up, get down and be back at the bus in 1 hour, it was tight. The walk from the bus to Pisa is about 15 mins not guided and not signposted well, just follow the crowd or use Google maps.

The trip was as advertised. It drops you off at a bus station with everyone else. So much better than the train. Would definitely recommend and use again.

It was transportation, not really a tour. It was as advertised, on time, no problems and exactly what we expected. Price was good as well.

Cruise shuttle dropped us off in town where the attendant was. We swapped our voucher for a ticket. Then the attendant got distracted and didn't give us a map of Pisa. When I asked the other attendant for a map she went to get one and never returned. When we arrived at Pisa they were nowhere to be found No maps left either. Had to ask a local which way to go from bus depot to the site. Overall I thought they cared more about the Europeans than the English Speaking Tourists. There won't be a next time for us. Bus driver did his job!

Traveled with Viator many times in the past, but never had such a bad experience like today. First of all, when the bus driver let people to come in, AC was not working and it was like a sauna inside the bus. During our trip to Pizza AC still could not provide the comfortable temperature inside the bus and the individual air outlets did not work. The bus driver was not at the level of the tourist bus driver. The ride was not smooth with the sudden stops and acceleration. A very disappointing experience

I was looking for an inexpensive way to get our family of 5 from cruise port to Pisa and this was the best option. It was easy to book online the night before, got confirmation right away. Took free bus to port terminal and the bus met us there. It was so easy. Ride was comfortable on double decker bus. We have more than enough time at site before heading back. Well worth it!

Good communication clean comfortable coach. On time 2 and a half hours sightseeing the amazing tower of Pisa was perfect

My wife had never been here before, and so we needed to get to the site as cost effectively as possible. The tours from the cruise ship were just too expensive for poor folk like us. The day was beautiful; the journey was comfortable, we were all cheerful. My wife adored the place. It was an epic adventure, and unforgetable.

Lots of walking long way from where the bus drops you off. Dangerous street crossings to get to the tower. Beware!

My friend and I enjoyed this excursion. You get what is offered - a quiet (in our case) bus ride to/from Pisa and a ticket into the Leaning Tower (if option selected). I have given the tour 4 stars because I think the company can do a better job with providing information. First, it is quite a hike from the bus parking lot to the square, with no signage providing directions. Not a major issue, but helpful to know in advance. Second, although we were told that you would have to put backpacks in a locker, they did not tell us it was across the piazza - not in close proximity to the tower. Unless you have someone to be a line place-holder, go there first.

This ride was perfect, I booked it less than 24 hours before we needed it and it was excellent. We were on our own for 2 hours, so worth it!

You must repurchase your ticket into the leaning tower as it was fully booked out prior to our arrival. Some great food available, and plenty of shopping. The walk was quite far from the bus stop for my elderly Aunts and it was a blazing hot day…. But very enjoyable!

Not bad for just cheap transfer to Pisa but guides weren’t really helpful. Didn’t really give any information. Arrived to Pisa a little late, wish we had a little more time to sightsee and eat without being rushed. No one told us what time to get back on the bus, had to ask a fellow traveler.

Very easy to get from ship to cruise port to catch the bus to Pisa. Lots of restaurants nearby. Easy to follow signs to follow to the leaning tower.

The bus left late from the meeting point. The ride itself was fine, although the WiFi was “unavailable.” Then, on the way back, the bus broke down in Liverno and we were simply told to “get out.” We had no idea where we were, but luckily found we were just a few blocks from the meeting point — which also was where the cruise ship shuttle was meeting us. The service was unbelievably bad. Pisa itself was lovely and we’re glad to have seen it, but the transportation was much less than we expected from a company recommended by Viator.

The ride to Pisa was on a nice bus. We have plenty of time to visit every site. I had no idea that there was also a cathedral and a dome. We were fortunate to receive free tickets to see the cathedral, but if you want to climb the tower, you should make an appointment well in advance. Beautiful experience, and definitely one for my bucket list.

This literally is just what it says on the tin, a transfer and no more. You have to get a shuttle from the cruise port to the meeting point in Livorno. There is no organisation when you get to the coach. It is a double decker so be aware that there is lots of pushing and shoving as people rush for their preferred seats. If you are elderly or need a lower level seat for mobility reasons, good luck. There is no accommodation for this. If you are a group that would like to sit together, forget it. It’s a free for all. Coach itself was ok, nothing special. Journey takes about 45 minutes then there is still a fair walk into Pisa from the coach park with no direction or advice from the tour operatives. Our advice is follow the people and try to remember the way back! On the whole this is a tour that could be hugely improved with just a bit of consideration and direction (in respect of seating) and some basic directions upon arrival.

Exactly what I wanted. Family needed a ride from Livorno to Pisa and back. This booking with Shore Experience did exactly that. Nice clean bus and was on time. Easy to reach as the cruise shuttle to city center stops exactly by the Shore Experience area. WiFi was slow and didn’t connect on the way back, but that isn’t a real issue. Would recommend for an easy ride.

This was the best way to get from Livorno to Pisa without other conditions or stops. The lady who assisted us was originally from Siberia and she was very nice and helpful.

We took this trip while in port from a cruise ship! Mass confusion to get to Pisa!! We were under the impression we were picked up from the port. Apparently you had to first take a shuttle to city center then take the bus provided to Pisa. So crowed, unorganized, pushing and shoving! Once in Pisa the ticket, that was included, very organized! To go inside the tower came with access to a locker and when your time came up it was your turn without people rushing the line. However we only had exactly enough time to just do the one event and had to be back at the bus. Wish more time was provide to experience the area! The 4 hour excursion was included in an hour there and an hour back and waiting in line for your turn.
