The Chobe Safari Day Trip From Livingstone

This day trip was an amazing experience. The coordination was very easy and the entire team did a great job. The atmosphere was fun and we were able to see so many elephants, buffalo, hippos, giraffes, and even a couple of lions. Highly recommend for anyone looking to visit

The tour overall was good. We enjoyed the river boat tour more than the Jeep safari tour. Lunch was a good variety of food butno drinks were included and we were not allowed to drink our own, so we were forced to pay extra (even for n/a drinks). The Jeep safari tour seemed to have gotten a delayed start and felt extremely rushed. The tour guide spent an inordinate amount of time explaining his background and overexplaining the rules. We sat outside of Chobe for about 20 minutes after every other jeep had already left, which further cut into the 3 hour experience. We understand the seriousness of the rules but the guide was redundant and took entirely too long to get things started. The guide did find us lions and seemed to have a real understanding of the animals behaviors and patterns enough to give a good experience with regards to the animals. We were a group of two jeeps traveling together and both jeeps had engine/battery issues causing us to sit for about 45 minutes waiting for mechanical fix to happen. This isn't the guides fault, as he wasn't equipped with the right tools to fix the battery issue. However, sitting in one spot that long in the heat wasting our limited safari time was less than satisfactory. Later on, the guide offered to stop the tour to give us beverages and snacks, but we had to keep moving and exit the park in time, which made drinking the drinks nearly impossible (think 40km/hr on bumpy dirt road). We could have been given the drinks while waiting for the vehicle to be repaired. Overall the guide did give a good safari experience, but not great. If this was our only safari experience on our trip, I'd be more disappointed. Lunch was ok, Boma style, food was good, but it was very hot and the water sprayers were broken so our table didn't get any of the cooling effect. The boat tour was everyone's favorite part. We were offered plenty of drinks to keep cool and the tour guides spent lots of time explaining the various animals and environmental features. The boat tour did not feel rushed at all! Transportation to and from the tour from Zambia was seamless and handled well by the various transfer guides. We appreciated their efficiency and timeliness, and they accommodated a few of our special requests with no questions asked. Overall, a good day, with the transportation and boat tour being the best parts of the day.

Our guide was unbelievably great. ALSO, our driver, mwangelwa made our Livingstone experience 10x better. He’s the greatest driver in Livingstone.

This was my first time visiting Chobe as someone who has gone on many game drives in my life. It was truly incredible! From the morning pickup to end of day drop off, everything was perfect. My guide was amazing and it was incredibly easy to get through the Zambia/Botswana border with his assistance. The game drive and the boat ride were wonderful - we saw 7 lions that day! This is one of my favorite safari experiences ever

The person who picked us up was delightful. Friendly intelligent and overall a great guy. The safari in chobe was a little disappointing. While we saw alot of animals there were so Many jeeps and other tourists And tour groups that it felt very commercial. We did see a lion and other animals which was wonderful. We could've done without the boat ride. It was hot and very slow and the guide didn't give us much info.

Everything went very smoothly. Have your paperwork ready for border crossings and they do the rest. Guides were friendly and knowledgeable. Very helpful at all times. I had a wonderful experience and saw a lot of wildlife from their efforts. I would definitely recommend them.

This is an excellent activity and a good value. Communication was perfect, our driver Vincent was so polite and helpful, the game drive and boat ride were amazing, and lunch was plentiful and beautiful. Highly recommended

We absolutely had a great Safari experience, both the game drive and cruise were fantastic. Hotel pick up and drop off by Vincent was on time and the Zambia - Botswana transfers were smooth. We saw a variety of animals up close with the highlight of the day being seeing a number of lions which are difficult to see in so many Safari drives! Buffet lunch at Mowana Safari Resort was delicious and it brought back good memories of our stay there in 2016! Great Safari cruise, with unlimited supply of drinks and the guides were knowledgeable, passionate and friendly making the experience more enjoyable. Mwangelwa and Southern Wild Tours & Travel team are simply the best. Their communication is clear & timely, activity charge way cheaper compared to the one offered by the hotel, they are friendly, courteous and professional. Highly recommend!!

Our Chobe Day Trip was well organised by Southern Wild Travel and Tours. The hotel pick-up at 7:00 a.m. was punctual, and the Botswana-side partners were professional and knowledgeable. We enjoyed the entire experience, including a good game drive, a delicious buffet lunch at Mowana Safari Resort and Spa, and a river safari where we saw many hippos and crocodiles. We also appreciated the stop to view and photograph the Kazungula Bridge. Mwangelwa and Southern Wild Travel and Tours delivered a great Chobe experience.

From start to finish, everything about my Chobe day trip was seamless and unforgettable. An unforgettable day trip! Victoria Falls was absolutely stunning and speaks for itself with your eyes and feelings—truly a wonder of the world. Crossing into Botswana was another highlight, where we could see four countries from the bridge. The safari began with a land game drive, and as our guide said, “wait for the magic”—and he was right! Over ten elephants crossed right in front of us, an experience we'll never forget. We were also lucky to see giraffes, lions, hippos up close, and more. Lunch at a beautiful hotel offered plenty of delicious options before we set off on a river cruise. Seeing animals from the water, especially a swimming elephant right beside us, was incredible. We were a group of 20 visiting Zambia for a wedding, and Mwangelwa and his colleague were amazing—helpful, attentive, and went above and beyond. Highly recommend them and this trip!

I applied for these kinds of tours for the first time, and luckily their service was totally beyond my expectation. We mainly talked with the guide Mwangelwa from my hotel to the border, his picking up time was very punctual and during the time to the border, he was talkative and safe driver. Due to the border, he couldn't attend it after entering Botswana, but he handed over another guide perfectly. In the tour, we started the gaming. Sometimes it rained heavily and normally there were less chance to see the wild animals due to this rainy season, but they fully utilized their knowledge to find them and exchanged info to other drivers once they found it. After that, we joined the cruise to see it, at this time, wd also saw many animals such as elephant, buffalo, crocodile, and hippo. In conclusion, I was totally satisfied with their service taking and hospitality. Strongly recommend to join this tour.

We booked a transfer from the border to Livingstone and also a transfer from our hotel to the Zimbabwe side of vic falls. Mwangelwa was our driver and he is truly amazing. He‘s a very safe driver and shares all his knowledge about the region and the vic falls with you. Mwangelwa was always on time and helped us with the border office. We can only talk about our experience with Mwangelwa and if he is your driver you will have a great time, travel safely and meet an amazing person. He is a true diamond and we wish him all the best.

Felt very reassured by the booking process, which confirmed that I would be picked up from my hotel and what was included. The service included air-conditioned transport to and from the Botswana border, with an escort and guidance as to where to go and what to do once there, as well as on the return. The guides were very knowledgeable, with many bird species also covered. Both guides (safari vehicle and boat) also showed consideration to the wildlife by not crowding (I witnessed several trucks pursuing a male lion we had encountered). They still managed to get in very close and allowing for a great experience, without changing any of the animals’ behaviour. We got very close to elephants, Cape buffalo, lions, giraffe, impala, sable antelope, kudu, hippo, and much more. Lunch was incredibly nice, in a very pleasant safari lodge. And cold drinks were provided throughout.

I first met this sweet guy, Mwangelwa, when I was crossing the border from Zim to Zambia. He gave me a ride to Livingstone so I didn't had to walk w all my bags. He also helped me throughout my stay in L-stone. He goes way and beyond. Just such a pure and professional soul. Chobe was amazing! The Chobe Day trip from Livingstone, offered by Southern Wild Travel and Tours was an excellent experience that combined a river safari cruise on the Chobe River with a game drive in the renowned Chobe National Park. Overall, we had an amazing time and a must-do if you are visiting Zambia; our trip started at 7.30 AM and ended at 4.30 PM. Our tour coordinator, Mwangelwa, was exceptional in every way, punctual/ worked with our schedule, and allowed room for flexibility, which made our entire trip very pleasant. He was always there, helping with visa stamping and guiding us through all our activities.

Absolutely fantastic experience with our tour guide at Victoria Falls! He was not just knowledgeable but also incredibly courteous and patient, especially with the elderly members of our group. His ability to engage and entertain the kids was amazing, making the experience enjoyable for everyone. We had a slight change in plans that caused us to run almost half an hour over our scheduled time. Despite this, he accommodated us with a smile, saying, “You all having a good time is what is most important.” This level of dedication and flexibility truly made our visit to Victoria Falls the most wonderful experience. I absolutely recommend to do the chobe tour with that company! Communication was easy and fast and you can even book the spontaneously. The driver picked us up at the exact time and the car was very comfortable. The drive mwangala was very nice and friendly! Also the chobe tour itself was awesome, especially the game drive. We were able to see elegantes from a short distance, such as lions, giraffes, buffalos and plenty of other animals. Another highlight was the boat cruise and of course the amazing lunch. We really had an awesome time and would love to do the tour again, when coming back livingstone ☀️

This was the BEST DAY !! Saw animals and ate a delicious lunch and laughed and felt totally safe and informed and well taken care of. Especially Mwangelwa Mubita Cherish was so sweet and thoughtful and caring. He made me feel comfortable and made sure I got home safely and food !
